i have just applied online for medicard. magre-resign na kasi ako, at yung next job ko, walang health insurance benefit. yung current job ko, maxicare, pero hindi ko maituloy kasi hindi pala puede sa family plan yung 8 month old. nagtataka nga ako e. samantalang covered si baby since 1 month old. don't know bakit ganon.

sis lclanzaderas its because your application will be considered as a new application for individual account. and yung mga benefits mo before na naeenjoy mo with your current company account would be a lot difference if you apply and individual account. mapapamura ka talaga pag magpapaaprove ka sa kanila.

how did you apply?- through their website lang, online application. after a week, i received a statement of account na for payment of the premium -
http://www.maxicare.com.ph/Pages/IFGOnlineApplication.aspx

how much do you pay as your premium? - depende sa yun piliin mo na plan, at depende sa age ng plan holder. nasa website yung plan at rates.

do you have a dependent? can you make your spouse your dependent? - pwede dependent spouse and children

also -- once you have paid, are you automatically accredited and can use your card right away for doc consultations and tests (maxicare accredited clinics)? - 2 to 5 days from payment of the premium, magi-issue na ng ID card, then you can automatically use na, right away.

Sis, thanks so much for your reply.  :D

nice to hear that sis lclanzaderas we have a sis here na doctor and shes an HMO doctor I forgot the name of the HMO, she has a patient under a company HMO, when the company shifted to another HMO, the patient maintained the same HMO at her own expense dahil the patient like her as her doctor, then nung ginamit na ng patient yung card for labs and procedures, the HMO declines it because new account daw to. HMO can be tricky sometime. clarify mo sa kanila sis what they mean of transferee and if its under new account ba.

I want to get for my family sana.pati yung mammogram..

Last Aug. 10, nag start kaming ipa check up   baby ko sa metropolitan hospital regarding frequent coughing. Back then, I was so happy to find out na meron palang accredited na pedia ang Intellicare so dun namin sya dinala. Yung mother ko ang sumasama sa baby ko every check up so the initial check up was fine mukhang mabait naman ang doctor. Sa Intellicare kase 2 forms ang binibigay sa doctor: 1. yung colored paper wherein they have to write their diagnosis of the patient (heto yung maiiwan sa kanila)  2. yung long white paper wherein they have to write the prescription aside pa dun sa ibibigay nilang separate presciption ( this part ang ibabalik sa intellicare for reimbursement of the purchased prescription). So all things went well for the initial check up.

Then came Aug. 19, bumalik si kiddo para makita ang result ng x-ray, then afterwards niresetahan ulit kaso     binalik nung secretary ang white form telling my nanay na hindi na kailangan pirmahan ni doc yun. Since my nanay didn't know that time na kailangan pirmahan yun hinayaan na lang niya.

So yesterday balik sila ulit for check up, again another prescription but this time my nanay told the doc regarding the white form, then the doc finally blurted out na " kaya nga ayaw ko na magpa member ng Intellicare eh.. ang daming pinipirmahan, abala lang ito to think na ang mura mura lang ng binabayad nila sa akin, kung hindi ko lang kaibigan yung coordinator nito hindi na ako tatanggap ng pasyente, " she was saying those things while filling out the form.

Hi sisters, ibig ba sabihin mas okay na kumuha muna ng mas mababang plan for the first year kasi nga sayang lang because of pre existing condition?? tapos upgrade ka na lang sa 2nd year mo.

And also ibig sabihin lahat ng nakalista sa mga PEC hindi yun pwedeng icover? or yung present ailment mo lang like me... i have hypertension. yun lang ang macoconsider ko na existing as of the moment. what if bigla ako mag ka amoebaiasis (do i spelled it correctly) pwede yun icover?

  Please enlighten me... thanks!

yes sis aleng maganda madaming scheme yung mga hmo. yung sau na hypertension subject for approval pa yan. basta declare mo lang.. mas mahigpit kasi sila sa individual plan compare sa company plan. yung amoebiasis pwede nila ata icover yun kasi di naman years yung pagdevelop ng sakit na yun... pwedeng days.. yung dengue, tonsillitis and appendicitis | think yun yung pwede nila icover. medyo nakakaloko kasi yung PEC nila.
