any feedbacks on Caritas Healthcard? how is their service?

someone told me that their payment scheme shows that you only have to pay for 5 years but your coverage is for 10 years ... this true?
there's an agent who explained me that the payment is for 5 years straight.  after 5 years pede mo ng kunin money mo but if you want na after 10 years pede rin.  dun sa 10 yrs, 10 years pedeng magamit ang healthcard, and after 10 yrs mo rin makukuha total payment mo sa kanila.  ask ko nga ulet SIL ko regarding this kase she got already caritas

Caution lang ha.  SP Care (St. Patrick's) is in financial trouble.  They are having difficulties paying their dues sa hospitals and doctors.

Also, most HMOs (if you're getting for yourself and you're not employed by a company who gets it for you) do not cover hospital admissions for procedures (operations) in the first year of signing.  They always consider it 'pre-existing'.  You can only get free consults and laboratories but no procedures.

Most agents will just say they will cover it but in reality, hindi.  Get Philhealth also because HMOs only cover about 60% of the hospital costs.  The Philhealth share will be paid by you if you do not have Philhealth coverage.

Any feedback on Kaiser Health Insurance? It is one of the most, if not the most, popular and reliable health insurance provider in the United States. I know this for a fact coz all of my relatives in the States have this as their HMO ... but how is their service here in the Philippines? any idea on premium payments?

Thanks!

get maxicare. the premiums may be higher than others... but u really get what you paid for. swerte ng mga companies that give maxicare to their employees.

medicard is also good. :)

medserv, ang nagtayo raw nito ay mga kumalas na directors from maxicare?

^ intellicare has been very useful sa amin. my daughter and hubby is enrolled. i get to bring my daughter to specialist for checkup. wala rin kami problem whenever admitted.

sis brigz, for individual application wala kasama dependent. so you also have to apply for them...

Sisses, I checked MAXICARE's website coz I plan to get one for myself (not affiliated with a company). There were 2 choices that i found, one is for INDIVIDUAL and one is for FAMILY.

If I get the FAMILY option, does that mean that I can put my husband as a dependent and he will have the same benefits as me?

I was looking for an explanation in their site and couldn't find one. The site just showed the difference in premiums and benefits, but did not explain anything on dependents.

Kindly explain for those in the know. Thanks!  :)

My kids were confined last week due to pneumonia...yung son ko yung una last tuesday tapos sumunod yung daughter ko nung friday...sabay silang na-discharge nung monday lang. Umabot ang bill namin ng 40K+. Na cover lang ng Philhealth is around 7K and the rest Intellicare. Sobrang convenient talaga pag may HMO...salamat sa company where I am employed!  :D

sa mga pre-existing disease... hindi ba usually sa 1st year hindi sya covered or may limit lang sya na tipong 5k, then succeeding year, covered na? ganun kasi yung experience ko on both healthcards that i have. but again, baka depende sa company rin.

^maxicare and intellicare. intellicare is for corporate only though. for both HMOs, managers and up, covered na agad ang pre-existing. for rank & file and supervisors, up to 5k lang covered for the pre-existing on the 1st year. then the 2nd year, maximum limit na for pre-existing conditions.

iba iba mga coverage depending on the contract with the company.

Don't go for Caritas Health Shield.  They have extremely unfair policies that you may not even take into consideration until it actually happens to you.

My mom has been a member since 2004.  In 2007, I was late in the payment of her dues for TWO (2) days.  Considering that they do not send billing statements and that this is the first time it happened, her plan went back to her pre-existing year.  Meaning, parang new member siya with limited benefits.  Worst of all, operations cannot be covered until 2010 or 2011 daw because of my lapse in payment, AGAIN OF TWO (2) DAYS.  Grabe ang consequence of being late... I'm wondering sa iba ba, ganito din ang punishment?
