i've read your posts sa HMO thread, and it was a great help that i found answers to my queries... i just have another question...

i and my boyfriend are not yet married, in my baby's birth certificate my boyfriend signed the back stating his admission of paternity. we're also both not working since we're both studying pa, can my boyfriend apply for an individual plan and have our baby as his dependent?

ako kasi i have my own health card since dependent ako ng dad ko sa company health card nila...

yes pwede for as long as nakalagay sa birth certificate na sya [textspeak!] father

Does anyone know kung i-cover din ba ng medicard yung confinement kapag nanganak na? I know na hindi i-cover ng medicard ang panganganak pero yung confinement kaya?

all pregnancy/maternity related conditions are standard exclusions sa HMO industry.  Anything related to it is likewise excluded kahit confinement.

Pre/post natal consultations however are covered.  Take note "consultations" only.

There are some corporate accounts na merong maternity benefits but these are very limited up to a certain amount only, and subject to special arrangement between the company and HMO.  It would usually mean payment of addtional premium but if you take a deep look, the funds being provided by the HMO for maternity usually is equal to the sa total additional premium you paid for maternity.  In short, ginisa ka lang sa sariling mantika.

sis dyann*** , my family's on FortuneCare and so far satisfied kami with our plans (Semi-private P700). My dad had surgery on his knees last 2004 and totally covered ng plan niya 'yung surgery so wala kaming binayad (nakadagdag din kasi 'yung PhilHealth coverage niya).

My husband's HMO card covers consultation & the panganganak amounting to 75k. It's basically his benefit in the company. Add to that the meds, ultrasounds may it be 4d & lab tests are also covered by the company through reimbursement amounting to $800.

Hello!
anyone here who has Fortunecare Healthcard??? Can you give feedbacks?

I inquired 2 days ago and I'm surprised that they accept senior citizens up to 79 y/o. Parang naging interested ako kasi I will now be able to get a healthcard for my mother who is already 62 y/o. Most healthcards do not allow senior citizens with exception to group insurance. Eh since my mother is a housewife, syempre wala syang company kaya hinde sya pasok sa group insurance.

^Just read previous posts sis. I gave my feedback on FortuneCare.

My dad's a senior citizen na rin. He was a member even before he turned 60, but continuous ang benefits niya. Nagtaas na lang sila ng premium rates.

Hi! I have read some posts about Fortunecare. I am still a bit unsure about PEC. My father has diabetes and I know na isa sya sa mga pre-existing diseases. Does this mean na kung ma confine ang dad ko because of the complications of his diabetes eh hinde ico-c-ver ng fortunecare? I don't know if its the right thing to do. Yoko kasi madeny sa health card kasi they need it... Please advise naman. Thanks!

^ Ganon ba sis...I'd suggest you to be honest and tell them upfront that your dad has diabetes so you and your agent/the company can agree on what will be covered by your plan. From what I read about FortuneCare's policy kasi, if your dad has been hospitalized for a diabetes-related condition and nag-claim kayo ng benefits, but you did not declare his diabetes beforehand and then the company found out, then hindi kayo mabibigyan or babawiin ang benefits niyo.

Maybe this will help:
Exclusions and limitations ng FortuneCare
List of pre-existing conditions and dreaded diseases

Thanks for this sis ah. But my father has not yet been hospitalized because of his diabetes. Na confine lang sya 2 yrs ago because of gastro. Siguro nga better ask for the agents opinion on this baka pwede naman mapagusapan at maayos. I'll read through the links you've posted.
