ka miss den ang NY 2 weeks lang kame ng stay diyan nung dinalaw ng mom ko yung friend niya..sa mala bronx kame ng stay na alala ko si J.Lo bigla...miss kuna ang Times Square, miss kuna den mag shopping sa 5th Street....

katakot lang kasi mag travel ngayon US kasi sa H1N1...musta naman ang case dun sis, medyo naayos na ba big issue pa den ba

It doesn't usually start snowing until about January or even February at times. But they're predicting a bad winter since it's started to get colder earlier, so perhaps we'll get snow earlier this season.

Lots of food places to check out here Yelp.com is a good source. And don't forget opentable.com for reservations.

H1N1...I think it's alright. I haven't heard anything as of late. I think just about everywhere you go, there's a case of H1N1.

hi... would like to ask what hotel/inn you can recommend along manhattan or anywhere in ny na affordable lang ang rate per night... me & hubby, together with our 2 kids, plan to make a side trip sana to NY before going to LA. but we have no idea where to live, how to go around as we have no relatives/ friends in NY...

dream ko din kasi makita ang empire state bldg as with the statue of liberty. we would like to try east coast naman this december kasi lagi na lang sa LA side kami when we visit US. andun kasi mga siblings ni hubby...

pls give me any inputs on NY re weather, place to stay (na medyo easy on the pocket), guided tours, etc... thanks in advance for any infos

sis try Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square,read the reviews in tripadvisor,affordable siya and we stayed there at pang family siya,good location too just a minute walk to bryant park and 15minutes walk to times square,they have a kitchen too and they have free breakfast and snacks:) we stayed in soho grand hotel too for 8nights pero not for family more for honeymooners siya,800 dollars for a roudtrip via cathay pacific each,and just one hour stopover in hk,check cathay pacific's website maybe they have some promos,but we got our airfare tickets from a travel agency

hi sis! if ok lang sayo any hotel basta near manhattan or time square, you can try to check out sa www.hotwire.com just input where banda mu gusto usually cheaper dun tapos papa-choose ka pa if how many star ng hotel after u purchase atsaka mare-reveal [textspeak!] name ng hotel.  Nung asa NY kami naka-chamba kami sa crowne plaza super near sya sa time square atsaka nga pala here's a tip itapat mu yung trip mu sa NY ng weekends hotel rates are cheaper compare to weekdays.  or u can also check expedia.com

I suggest renting an apartment. Sometimes it's more cost effective since there's all the amenities you need on a day to day basis.

from orlando, we will be taking amtrak & arriving in NY on dec21. do you have any idea how much will it cost us if we'll take a cab to manhattan or midtown area? and from that area to JFK airport as we will be leaving NY on the 25th... is there any chance of snow during that period? thanks

actually sis u have the option to choose where in NY u guys want to stay.  U can choose manhattan area then the hotels within the area will be given to u.  Like us last time I choose along time square so luckily we got crowne plaza at a cheaper price.

sis, we are still undecided what hotel will we choose. for now, a friend is willing to accommodate us in their house but they live in new jersey. it's an hour away by bus daw to manhattan. we are thinking if we will grab it so we could save more but hassle lang to commute kasi we have 2kids. sayang din kasi matitipid, pang-shopping na din as staying in a hotel for 4nights would cost us at around php40k. pinag-iisipan pa namin 

@sis junethwentythree:  how cold will it be in NY during christmas time? what is best to wear, parka or a trench coat? and how about footwear kasi i'm not quite comfortable wearing boots as i'm more into flat shoes... does anybody here knows where to buy nice winter clothes at a good price? i have checked with sm surplus shop but medyo diko gusto mga display nila ngayon.

^ It'll be pretty cold. Around 40s maybe. I suggest puffy/down jackets. Definitely something thick and wind proof. There's always the wind chill factor to consider. Even when it's 40s, with the wind, it'll feel even colder.

So far as footwear, I don't think you have much of a choice. Your extremities get cold the fastest so keeping your feet warm (and hands) is important. If you go with flats, then make sure you have thick socks or perhaps leg warmers.
