where is the best area to stay,chelsea, soho or union square? and easy lang ba ang subway?

^ That's all right around each other and the same general environment (some of Chelsea can be dodgy - some bums milling around -- but for the most part it's residential). Any of those areas are good and close to just about whatever thing you might wanna do.

The subway is really easy. Just follow the maps and watch for schedule changes, especially on the weekends (some trains don't run at all).

thanks junetwentythree,i can just walk from soho to chelsea? where is the best area for you? coz what i want is yung near sa h&m,gap,victorias secret,urban outfitters,zara then i saw sa map na malapit yung mga small shops na ganon sa union square pero fifth ave and near ren sa broadway,so i'm confused now coz i want mga hip bars and restaurants too,like near sa greenwich,soho,tribeca...too many informations on the net kaya nagkaka gulo choices ko:) shall i stay near fifth ave or lahat yan kaya ko puntahan by just walking? i want to be in the middle of it all....

I'd stay in Soho if you're after those shops (although the same ones can be found all over Manhattan ) but yes you can you can pretty much walk the areas you've mentioned.

I personally prefer the downtown areas as I find midtown (34th St., Times Square, Rock Center) too touristy. Downtown would still get you in the "middle of things" kinda since everything is either walkable (depends how much walking you can do) or accessible by subway.

TKTS..  di ba  they sell tickets  only for  the day.  Since   nabili or reserved na  most of the seats, what usually happens  is  that  not everyone in your group  can  watch the same show  at the same time.  Pag konti lang kayo,    expect na di rin  kayo magkakatabi.

^we always buy from TKTS. i don't know if we're jut lucky but we always get to sit beside each other. probably if you're gonna watch a show which is on a limited run. baka dun kayo magkaproblem.

we bought online via broadwaybox.com, no need to go to the booths and you can choose your seats but yung mga super popular, like wicked, hindi na ata discounted.

True, swerte-swerte lang talaga sa TKTS.

We were able to buy good tickets (as in 2nd to the front row) sa TKTS for Avenue Q last year, wala namang hassle. Agahan lang talaga ang pagpila. Also some museums they only have a 'donation' and not a fixed entrance price. I know The Met, ganun, not sure about the other museums.

we just tried their niagara tour last May 1-2,2009.
That time may buy 2 free 1 promo sila  - triple sharing [textspeak!] room
We paid around $270 for 3 people - incl. of transportation and overnight accommodation. There is a mandatory tip of $6 per day/person.The accommodation is in Quality Hotel-Niagara which is around 5 mins. to the Niagara Falls park.


There are several food/restroom stops and two sidetrips.Going to Niagara - sidetrip is Alexandra Bay for the thousand island tour (this tour is optional - if you won't avail this tour, you can explore around the town there are souvenirs shops and restos there. And you can also take loads of photos which is what we did hehe). Going back to NY - sidetrip is Corning museum - again this is tour is optional.

namiss ko naman bigla ang NYC while reading this thread.. super enjoy ako lagi maglakad galore dito at shopping to the max.. NYC is the main reason why pumapayag ako bumalik ng US
