my recommendations on what to visit and where to go...
- Empire state building, famous statue of liberty, times square, ellis island, battery park...drop by the largest store Macy's, FIFTH AVENUE is without doubt, one of the most famous shopping places in the world. Some of the most famous names in fashion and jewellery are lined-up along each side. Armani, Rolex, Christian Dior, Tiffany and Co, Calvin Klein, Levis....I also recommend you go to TRUMP TOWER on 5th between 56th and 57th streets....and never to forget SAKS, as this is one of the most elegant Fifth Avenue department stores...BLOOMINGDALES on 3rd Avenue at East 59th Street is one of the city's favourite large department stores..you can also try BARNEYS NEW YORK for designer/labelled clothes... super tower-like prices... as expected... for toys, games etc..you can try FAO SCHWARZ and of course the famous Toys R Us...Bargain hunters looking for those same designer labels could, alternatively, head for the fashion district, along Seventh Avenue, between 30th and 39th Streets. But the most famous discount designer store has got to be Century 21 on Cortlandt Street, right next to the World Trade Centre. Syms, on Trinity Place, offers similar bargains. On Sundays, head for the Lower East Side where clothes, electronics and jewellery are attract large crowd to Orchard Street and Grand Street....
if you wanna eat out, expect it also to be expensive but very very delicious...napasubo ako dito super expensive but worth it... well, experience, why not ? Broadway Joe Steakhouse, the food we ordered was to die for "NY Cut Sirloin Steak and Grilled Swordfish steak...their NY cheesecake is soooooo unforgettable taste...by the way it is located at 315 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues, in the heart of the Broadway Theatre District....
If you want to see the Statue of Liberty close-up, go to Battery Park for the ferry...there is also a small oasis of greenery on the edge of the big city, it's worth a visit as well...while in there, take a look also Castle Clinton for the National Parks Service and a monument...of course botanical garden, The Conservatory, an NYC landmark and the nation's most beautiful glasshouse, has been restored as A World of Plants... you can also stay here for a picnic... not sure for the conservatory, i think the admission fee is #3.50 ....
Travel Routes: The Garden is easy to reach: 20 minutes from midtown, 20 minutes from central Westchester, 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge, 15 minutes from the Throgs Neck Bridge, and 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal via Metro-North Railroad.
