I've never tried wall climbing before but I'm really interested in trying it out. Is it really difficult, especially for beginners? Can anyone please recommend good places (especially for newbies to climb in the Makati and QC (near Katipunan) areas?

Btw, how is a first time climb like...with a trainer and everything? Thanks!


P.S. Maybe we should compile a list of all possible climbing places in the Metro as well as some info, like the rates, so it'd be easier for everyone in the thread?

my very first (wall) climb was in star city. its not really wall as in wall, more like an air-filled wall kasi, im not really sure how to describe it.. i didnt expect id get that far, almost reach the top, but it was a bit windy up there, mejo mahirap abutin yung next na block and hindi na dense yung air sa taas.. it was fun. id love to do it again!

Directions getting to Power Up Centro

From EDSA (north bound) make a U-Turn at P.Tuazon and head south bound.
The first street on the right after P.Tuazon is North Road. Take that and head straight.

Shortcuts: Take Ortigas Avenue westbound, then turn right to Annapolis,
left to Eisenhower straight to Horsehoe village, then turn right to Mariposa and left to West Road.

MRT - Get off at cubao station and take a bus South bound to the corner
of north Road (about 3 to 5 mins) then walk to the end of North Road. OR you could get a cab from the cubao station
all the way to Centro (about Php40) OR just

walk from the cubao station to Centro (about a 15 minute walk).

ei, what po pala yung pinaka affordable na rate for wall climbing ngayon kasi yung sa power up centro march 21 pa yung opening,.

meron pala akong nakita yung sa market market mura yung unlimited niya 140 php pero ang mahal nung belayer niya 200..pwede bang ako n lang magbelay,.kaso hindi marunong,.pero madali lang naman ako matuto eh..pwede kayang magpaturo muna sa kanila bago kami umakyat? hehe..

^ camp sandugo ang nasa market market right? ok na yang rate na 140 unlimited climb. you also have to pay additional fees para sa rent ng rock shoes at harness. kapag first time mo na lang tuturuan ka talaga basics kasama na yang proper belaying. pero suggest ko magsama ka nalang ng friend mo para kayo na lang magbelay sa isa't isa.

^ happy climbing! for sure mag enjoy ka. don't forget to bring extra shirt na din. stretching din before and after para hindi masyado sumakit katawan

socks din pala. mas ok kung medyo manipis. for hygienic purpose din kasi di mo lam kung sino na nagsuot ng rock shoes;)

I tried wall climbing once sa SM Fairview hinatak lang kamin nung friend ko and paunahan kami makaakyat..it was really fun.. I want to try it again..hindi ba nakakahiya pag magisa ka lang? hehe wala na kasi yung friend ko nasa ibang bansa na..

And where exactly sa tandang sora yung power up? I'll be coming from Q.Ave. I think yun na yung pinakamalapit sakin or meron pa kayo alam na iba place?

elow, just arrived from our wall climbing experience sa market market. Sobrang sulit talaga yung 140 and sobrang approachable nung mga trainers. Nagpaturo na lang kami kung pano magbelay kaya hindi na kami nagbayad ng additional 200 belay fee.

Sobrang enjoy namin pero hindi ko na kinaya yung medyo advance level dun kaya next time yun yung uunahin ko hehe. Nanakit talaga braso ko. If meron kayong wall climbing event sama ako ha. hehe.

belay or belayer is the person who's responsible for the rope while the climber is climbing. Siya yung humawak ng tali sa baba for the safety of the climber.
