has anybody been to the great barrier reef? im planning to visit australia next year but still undecided if im doing a weekend in cairns or just stay longer in both sydney and melbourne
how does it compare to our "version" in bolo, coron, el nido etc

i was thinking of going. to the whitsunday islands in particular. originally thought of joining contiki but expensive eh. but it's really the airfare that's killing me. $2-3k/person in winter, which is said to be the best time to visit.

masarap yung preshafruit juice. sa australia meron lang nung process na High Pressure Processing. walang heat involved dito kaya sobrang "fresh" as in kala mo you're eating the fruit itself pero juice siya. yun nga lang kailangan chilled siya. noong nag uwi ako niyan sa pinas, ref agad pagka dating sa bahay and i asked my friend (yung pagbibigyan ko) to consume it right away. well traveled yung family ng friend ko dahil mayaman. and nagulat at nagustuhan nila yung Preshafruit. maraming flavors yun, Apple pinaka gusto ko.

preserved meat, lalo na yung Don Strassburg, masarap yun. And Cheese if you really dig them. australian beef kung kaya niya mag dala. Yung australian beef na nakikita ko dyan sa pinas, naku sis, maiiyak ka sa baba ng quality. most often over stock lalo na sa R supermarket. Pwede din Black Angus or Wagyu.

Candies such as Nougat ...  compared to what pinas has, well, iba talaga yung quality. i can't remember the other classic candies pero yun, Orig talaga.

Honey medicinal grade pwede din. yun yung pwedeng ipahid sa sugat. sarap din siya. hindi yun commercial h oney, you have to buy them from bee keepers.

ayaw ko din ng vegemite. acquired taste yan. if i remember correctly, vegemite is a spread born out need during war, like our Banana ketchup.

and daming local chocolate makers dito sis. dito dinadalaw namin ang factory sa Margaret River. namimigay pa sila ng raw choco (pellets) for free. Cadbury is the most famous but i dont like cadbury. yung friend ko nga uuwian ko or padadalan ng chocolate lip balm and chocolate lotion. hehe

hi sis.  here are some of my suggestions:

red rock chips, twisties, burger ring and cheezels;

meat pies kung carry nya magdala ng frozen goods. its cheap and its meaty;

LLB or lemon lime and bitters (angostura bitters can be bought at bottleshops), sarap na cocktail ito mixed with lemonade, lemon and lime plus ice;

lots of TimTams in various flavours;

Shapes (pizza and bbq) - it's a bite size flavoured biscuit;

ang daming chocolates nakakalula im not a big fan anymore pero peborit ko Pods!!! (i love them!), cherry ripe, violet crumble,  flakes.

lollies like starburst and pascall.

yun muna. pag me naisip ulit ako.

^ some of things you mentioned can be found in pinas.  however some might not suite the Filipino Palate as we are more "American." but it's good for them to try those that you've listed. I have never loved Red Rock Chips. most of the stuff i like better are american made, and there are a lot of american products here.

I saw Pods in pinas na, even TimTams. Meat pies are good.

Preshafruit can be found in Coles kasama ng mga juices sa cold/chilled section. They're a Melbourne based company so they should be easy to find in the eastern states.

hinihingal ang retail dito kasi marami nang puro online sa pag bili. I'll never pay 300 AUD dollars for a pair of merrells. when i can buy it for 100 USD including shipping roughly speaking.

tnx sis snow25 & pauweebabe! im in sydney right now. i enjoy the cold weather. we went to blue mountains, it's so hot! as in naka sleeveless lang me. people here are in a rush, nakakastress ang city rail nila unlike SG. everything is expensive, grabe pati water ang mahal, $2.60 sa vendo. hahaha! next week is brisbane! will be going to dfo, yey!
