Australia, any input?

^^I am not sure kung exactly the same ang procedure ha, kasi dito ako sa Korea naglodge ng Visa applic. but basically, download mo yung visa application form then prepare the supporting documents. And submit it to the embassy.

I submitted the following:

Passport
Leave form from my company to show my vacation dates
Ticket Reservation (actually I think di ito kailangan)
Certificate of Employment
Salary Record for the past 3 months
Personal Bank Account Statements (Prinint ko lang ang online statements ko for the past 6 months)
Credit Card Billing Statements (printed my principal CC statements for the past 6 months)
DTI Cert/BIR/Bank Account of my tiny biz in Pinas(last 6 month account, sole proprietorship naman kasi the biz)

Then I paid the fee via GIRO Money Order tapos, mailed my docs lang to the embassy. Then after 5 days they mailed back my visa+passport.

As I understand sa Pinas, kelangan lang i-lodge personally or via agency but wala namang personal interview.  Ayun! Not sure if this helps but I think di naman nagkakalayo ang processing procedures sa Pinas and dito~

Am planning to go back to Oz sa July. This time Sydney and Brisbane naman sana :-) Nagenjoy talaga ako sa pasyal sa Oz. Yung shopping hours, okay lang, kasi ganun din naman sa UK eh, but aliw ako na very easy to make gala and safe there.

^Ay really? Wala naman sa akin sis pero nilagay ko sa form na gusto ko pang magtravel next vacation ko sa Gold Coast. Sa Victoria lang ako nagstay last time. Ayun multiple naman inissue kaso one year lang din ang validity~

Australia is a family oriented country in my opinion.  They prefer you bond with your kids visiting beaches and parks. For shopaholics you might get a little disappointed.  They are more into pushing their local brands rather than getting imported brands.

For those applying visas, I find it very easy to apply just as long as you have complete requirements.  Usually it is best that you have a source of income, kahit letter of employment lang ok na with bank accounts and siguro proof of any property  you own.   You just need to establish that your funds are sufficient for your stay.   If you have relatives there, you can ask them for a letter of support that they will provide for board and lodging and the likes but you have to ask from them proof of income if they are willing, like bank statement and proof of salary.

IMHO lang ha, kasi my aunt tried to get australian visa before, she have relatives there and may support and all but since she did not have any proof of income she got denied. Kasi iniisip nila siguro magtatago na dun since she does not have anything to go back to here  because her kids are all grown up na and since there are no interviews involved they are just basing it from the documents you are submitting.

If you are ok naman na to try kahit madeny ka, why not, pero if you are planning to apply to US or any country na may visa required medyo mahirapan ka na when you get denied sa Australia.


I just find it expensive to get australian visa kasi since I have applied twice na and mga 4 times na for my dad ang binibigay talaga 1 year validity lang.  it's either multiple entry within 1  year na ang max stay is 3, 6 or 1 yr o kaya single entry lang.

twice or thrice the US or Philippine price pa kamo. there are states where goods cost more (WA). one will enjoy buying if

1) she earns a lot as per first world standards
2) the item can only be found in Australia.
3) or if the good is inherently cheaper here (so far sa highly luxurious goods ko nakita)

hence a lot of aussies buy stuff online and this is killing some in the retail business.

It's common knowledge that Australia has a Laid back culture. so if you're family oriented, you get to spend time with family. If not, you'll have the time to enjoy other pleasures of life because you have the time for it.

mga sis im planning to apply for a tourist visa but im currently working now at a bank as a teller pero its just my past time coz ayoko lang talaga magwork for our company... i have sufficient funds under my name sa isang bank account ko kasi ginagamit din ng parents ko un.. now my plan is to apply for a visa then if ma-approve saka ako magreresign... im planning to stay kasi ng 3-6months or more e... i just dont want to resign first saka magaapply ng visa kasi id reason out the "fly to australia" kapag nagresign ako...

whats the best to do??

I hope you don't plan on doing something illegal.  If you get a tourist visa, you'll specifically be prohibited from working.  If you plan to work in Oz, migration might be a better option in the long-term.

^depende sister.  which part of Australia ka ba pupunta? saan ka mag-i-stay? ilan kayo? anong activities mo/ninyo?   accomodation pa lang kakain na ng malaki sa budget mo kung wala kang mapapag-stayan na relatives or friends.  medyo expensive kasi dito.

^I stayed both at Ibis Little Bourke Melbourne and City Tempo Hotel Melbourne, halos same lang ang rates nila~ $120 ~ 160 AUS per day. Pareho silang okay, mas nasa center yung Ibis pero mas natuwa ako sa City Tempo. Kasi yung sa City Tempo may kitchenette so pwedeng magluto if you like. But ang main reason why I love it, super lapit nya sa Queen Victoria Market. As in likod lang nya Queen Vic na. If you love yung magmarket, maganda location nya.  Dumadaan din yung free city tram sa almost front ng City Tempo but bihira naman ako nagtram kasi in truth, madali lang lakarin ang City Center ng Melbourne so I think di problema kung malapit sya sa station or not.

Meron din mga hostels, Space Hotel ( I stayed one night here, pero lumipat ako ng Hotel Ibis after, ayoko talaga ng hostel type accomodation pala haha), okay din kaso medyo maingay kahit sa private rooms at common ang CR (though malinis naman). $20 ~ $50 AUD yung sa hostels.

any advise/suggestion/recommendation for first timers to aussie? a good resto to try? a must see tourist attractions and those we can skip already? should we be wary of our stuff when going to certain places? what to do at night (I heard malls close early?) how much is budget per meal? any information would be greatly appreciated

pwede kaya yong smartbro contract ko ipakita as proof na babalik ako sa pinas hehe..kasi me one year pa akong remaining contract sa smartbro bago ko putulin [textspeak!] connection ko lol..

hi sis @starfirejulie! kaka-approve lang ng visa ko, on feb or march alis ko. Sa house din ng fiance ako tutuloy. Kaka-graduate ko lang nung ng-apply ako and no work too. letter of invitation, bank statment meron ako and some of the requirements na required like NBI clearance, passport etc. Proof na babalik ako wala din talaga ako maisip nun buti ka nga may land title hehe Pero pinasulat ko na lang mom ko na she's allowing me to stay with my fiance and she's expecting na after 3 months eh babalik ako with photocopy din ng ID nya <must be certified copy>.

Sisses, Meron po ba ditong pupunta sa BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA on Feb or March baka pwedeng maki-sabay. Kinakabahan kasi ako sa mga IO sa airport lalo na't first time ko lalabas ng country.

sis @starfirejulie i sent you pm about the requirements. Long stay nila  is up to 6-12 months but required medical / xray;) for 3 months no need na. Sana maka-process ka na para makasabay kita this February hehe
