In one episode of the show Border Security, the Officer explained that the declaration form is a legal document and that by filling it up and signing it, you are swearing that you have answered it truthfully and accurately.

Now if you do not declare, or fill the form properly, then that means you lied. and it can be a reason for suspicion on their part. (this happened to my sister)

I never appreciated the strictness of Australian Customs until i started growing my own fruits and vegetables. Grabe ang gaganda nila mamunga. pwedeng pang display. Can you do that in the Philippines? No. What happened to our prized Mangoes? unexportable. (except if it comes from one area).

onga pala, since ang mga relatives ko dito eh mahilig sa air freshener na sheldan, lagi lagi silang nagpapabili tuwing uuwi ako.. and lagi lagi rin akong nahaharang sa quarantine at laging binubuksan luggage ko to the point na hindi na ako pumapayag bumili ng pesteng sheldan na yan para iuwi dito lol! Akala kasi nila canned goods yun... yun pinaka last na experience ko, hindi na nila binuksan luggage ko.. although muntikan na. Sinabi ko na agad na air freshener yun and they were surprised na may air freshener na nasa can daw tapos sabi ko they can check it if they want, and they said hindi na daw kelangan.

Animal skin? depende. If its from a protected species, say nag pasok ka ng tiger skin, you'll get into trouble. but if yung typical leather. Hindi naman.

Laptops should not be a problem. swerti swertihan lang kung gusto nila ipacheck. sometimes they check laptops for child porn. again. swerti swertihan lang.

there's also the random drug swab test. iswab yung suot mong clothes and bag then i test nila kung may traces of drugs.

anything fake naman is bawal per se. yung iba kasing nahuhulihan ng fake items, sila yung maraming daladala.  i don't think Aus is as strict as France. but if say you have 6 fake luxury bags in your maleta. baka mag isip sila ng ganun.

pwede stuff toy. subject to xray pa din nila yan.. at kung trip nila iswab for drugs. they'll do it. you see, drug trafficking is one of their problems and you'll be surprised when you learn how creative drug traffickers are. basta nagka suspicion sila or trip nila ikaw. they will check you or your item.

are you migrating na ba sis? kasi madaming magagandang supplements dito. and there are also local made supplements but world class standards naman. good thing is ---mura siya.

2 weeks ago i saw very expensive kind of protein (high level whey protein isolate). since it wad mad here... it costs less than half the price of the US made protein isolates.

I was actually planning to buy the supplements from u.s. :p kung meron jan, jan nalan, save pa sa weight sa baggage diba.. so mahal kasi hre sa phil 3-5x higher the price! di man maganda quality..

Pasali po,  I just want to ask kung meron na ba nakatry paship ng stuffs from Australia to Pinas?  About how much would it normally cost per kg?  I'm planning to buy online kasi, so definitely shoulder ko yung shipping.  But then, I have no idea if i still need to produce papers pa sa customs? as in i have no idea talaga.  Please help.  thanks!

if you have a relative in Australia. Have it delivered to them and have them ship it by balikbayan box to you. 60 dollars is the ave price for eastern states. people in places like Western Australia pay like 150 for a balikbayan box. weight is unlimited.

other than that you would just have to communicate with the seller. you have your emails (conversation). on the seller's part, the shipping papers, kasi siya mag shiship. kasama na yun sa shipment.

the cost per Kg depends sa sellers kasi some sellers eh pinagkakakitaan pa ang shipping price. if its their policy to set a fixed set of shipping costs, all you can do is negotiate.if they say they can't...well ganun talaga.  example of fixed shipping costs (15 dollars per item. or say 22 dollars kahit keychain lang yung gamit.)

if the seller does not earn from shipping, all you need to do is visit the australian post webpage, enter you location and the sellers location and i think you can approximate the cost.

reminder lang, when the item leaves australia, wala na sila jurisdition sa item. unless FOB destination point ata. and phil postal system is ...you know...

1-2 weeks lang balikbayan box.

i dunno if things have changed. pero di ba ang seller may declared value sila?
so ichecheck lang ng customs yung papers ng seller. then they will tax you according dun sa value/classification ng item mo.

I'm nervous and excited at the same time 'coz niyayaya ako ng isang friend ko mag-Australia this Dec... I've been to Asian countries several times this year and so far, isa pa din naman sa plans ko is to visit Aus or NZ next year kaso napaaga. Kaya I hope hindi hilaw ang paga-apply ko.
