^^working on a cruise ship to travel? not all the time, it depends on your position. for some, work means work, kahit cruise ship pa yan.

^sis, pwede walang experience for some agencies. pero siyempre, expect na mas mababa offer nila na salary. check mo sa magsaysay.

i worked on a cruise ship before as front desk attendant. ok naman. mahirap sa umpisa pero pag naka adjust ka na, masaya din naman. imagine that you'll get to go places for free di ba. libre din yung tours sa mga crew kaya masaya.

san ka nagapply sis? HRM grad ako pero la ako experience sa hotels. Call center kasi ako nagwork. Tamad kasi ako.. hehe. PM me sis

Former seawoman here but I stopped working since I decided to just move in and migrate with my bf here in Holland and didn't have regrets although syempre I miss earning from my own money and the camaraderie between co-crew members. Working in a cruise ship is not as easy as you think and it's not all about travel. Most of the time mas gugustuhin mo pa matulog sa cabina and rest instead of going out sa sobrang pagod. Iba pa rin talaga kapag nagtravel ka as bakasyonista talaga and not as a crewmember. What I love the most is yung iba-ibang tao makakasalamuha mo onboard. I miss the friendship and everything, lalo na dun sa naging close mo talaga. Sabi nga dalawang araw lang ang inaabangan lagi ng seafarer: salary day and sign-off day.Hehe.

Anyways regarding experience, kahit naman wala pang experience o minimal experience pwede na,walang pakialam ang principal. The thing is, yung mga agency sa atin and yung mga nagwowork sa loob ang me problema. Usually ang pinapasok nila is mga friends or kamag-anak nila but me I can proudly say that I went through a proper hiring. Kasi sa company na pinagwoworkan ko puro kamag-anak and kakilala ng taga-agency ang mga nagwowork and when they ask me sinong kakilala ko dun I said none and I went through an interview with the principal and then passed. Ang bad kasi sa mga agencies kapag walk-in tinatapon lang nila agad ang resume and they don't care. That's what happened to me, they lost "daw" my resume and then I have to submit again a new one, kinda long and complicated story. I wish all the best to all girltalkers who wants to be a seawoman. :)

Yes it's kinda rampant mapa-pinoy or ibang lahi, but still depende pa rin talaga sa tao yan. Maiiwasan naman talaga kung gugustuhin mo.

wow ngayon nalang ulit ako nakavisit. until now hindi pa ko nakakakuha ng work sa barko. hirap kasi eh. kasi nga backer system tayo mostly. swertihan din talaga siguro. may friend ako na hire ng magsaysay as casino dealer. wala syang exp and docs. nag try lang sya mag pasa. i think thats a year ago. so ngayon ngtry ako don. ok naman waiting ako for this week na tawagan nila for initial interview. requirement is at least 5'4" sa casino dealer. madaya sila sa height. minus 1" yata un sukatan nila kasi 5'5.5" ang tlagang height ko pero 5'4" lang ako don. sabi ng sis in law ko whose working din sa barko, ganon daw talaga technique, binabawasan nila para matangkad talaga makuha. but... magugulat ka daw pag dating sa barko andami maliliit, dahil nga pinapasok [textspeak!] mga kakilala kahit hindi talaga fit sa work. thanks sa mga shares nyo guys. i'll try to visit those agencies :) good luck satin :) god bless!
