Strawberry: Pagod talaga pag sa galley sis,tindi ang time don...Pero ganon nga time management lang talaga...Yeah,you're right ang saya lalo na pagka world cruise...Kaya din siguro naging love ko talaga working in cruise ship kase di naman ako talaga napagod ng todo,nagstart ako sa receptionist up to nag chief purser na ako,kaya maniniwala talaga ako na work hard lang talaga at focus lang sa gusto mong i-aim sa buhay, kaya ito every 4mos uwi ko then 2mos vacay,ang sarap lang & free internet pa...Good luck sis..

talaga bang kapag bagong sampa sa barko, I mean freshly grad, no experience, mababa lang talaga ang salary?  at kailangan ba magdeposit or magbayad sa company na papasukan?

ask ko lang pag mag apply ba nang front desk officer kelangan may experience na agad or mag try na muna kung makukuha den tsaka mag training?  if ever need nang training, anung specific training ang kelangan for front desk officers? thanks sa sasagot

gusto ko rin i-try yung front desk officer. wala pa kong experience as a front desk pero gusto kong i-try.

thanks for sharing your experiences sis maria fides. very helpful yung information na ibinibigay mo, especially sa kin kasi wala ako kilala na nagwowork sa ship eh kaya wala ako matanungan how it's like.

I'm thinking din of trying out for a cruise ship job. mainly office work ako, project coordinator. 4 years na din ako sa work ko and okay naman salary. pero not okay enough to travel abroad. eh yun talaga gusto ko gawin, travel to different countries.

I'm turning 26 na this year and not yet married. I'm really thinking if I should try this out. Baka kasi time na for a career change.

If I go to the agencies, resume lang ba dapat ko dalhin? Or is it better to apply online sa magsaysay?

Mga sis have you heard of the agency THENAMARIS?They sent me kasi today a text message asking me to report to their office.I checked naman their site eh mga fleet nila tanker or bulk.hindi naman me pwede dun noh!obvious ba?hehe.kidding aside,me passenger ba sila?ano hawak nila?Thanks sa magrereply.

My friend worked on a cruise ship. She said that it was hard work but fun. She got paid $500 cash per month and she loved the travel perks. Oh and she also mentioned that everyone slept with everyone. It was one big sexship :-)

Did she get extra income from that, or was the sex just in the spirit of fun (and maybe homesickness).

i think $500 paid onboard is her partial salary since mostly half of it serves as an allotment for the family left in philippines. about the sex thing, "some" do it for sideline esp. to foreign crewmates who's hungry for flesh since working on a cruise ship only offer a small amount of hard earned money. and it's true.... it was one big sexship! paid or unpaid.. single or married.. i'm not discouraging anybody to live their dream, just be cautious because you'll be entering a world of temptation

Pwede pa kaya yung age ko as cabin stewardess, im 27 y/o married. No related experience sa housekeeping.

sexship??? disagree po ako dyan...Sana ang ibang may planong magbarko eh di matakot sa word na yan dahil not all cruise ship ganyan ang ugali ng mga crew... I've been working in a cruise ship for almost 9yrs now, but then honestly ni minsan di ako naging unfaithful sa bf then/husband now...God knows that...swear....depende na po talaga yan sa tao...Goodluck po!

^ The way I understand your post, you're not denying that it is a common occurrence in cruise ships.

Ang tanong ko naman, does management turn a blind eye to it.? "Culture" na ba to sa mga ships? I'm sure with all the CCTVs on the ships, they know what's going on, who's going to whose room, etc.

pano po ba mag walk in sa mga agencies above? sa-submit ang CV then yun na? may on the spot interview halimbawang nagustuhan ang CV mo?

im trying to apply online sa magsaysay, hirap man enter ng information kasi di nagloload ang website nila. parang hindi din sya updated kasi dati ko pa nakikita yung mga vacancies duon.

mahirap daw lalo na pag dalaga  ka pa, mag asawa daw muna ko

Hi sisses! This is my first reply/post here in girlltalk,just created the account though. Uhmmm.. I went to magsaysay yesterday for an interview invitation as a casino dealer. I really dont have any experience working as a casino dealer or even in a cruise ship. For those who have any idea, is there any possibilty that i can be promoted? or be transferred to a different department or position? Naisip ko lang kasi gawin stepping stone yun casino dealer -- un lang naman kasi tinatanggap nila na wala experience. And sabi nila $500 lang daw yun salary and walang tipping... is that true?

hi! ask ko lang, yung position ba na "Gift Shop Purser/ Retail Sales / Cruise Ship" eh mahirap. i was trying to look for a job in cruise ship, actually im planning to take a HK training kaya lang, im still not decided kase ala naman akong experience sa HK, but i have a 9 months experience as cashier in ship shop & fine dinning before pero local lang, at the same time may negosyo din, I read the duties and responsibilty of a gift shop purser..... i like to apply for the job kaya lang natatakot ako, can you ive me some basic duties na ginawaga onboard saka mahirap ba?

sis same here gusto ko din mag undergo ng training pero di ko alam kung saan pati sana flexible yung schedule since working din ako...
