i'm starting this thread, just in case you've experienced bad service from a resto or fastfood joint, or thumbs up good service from a resto or fastfood- share your experiences by the way, kindly indicate if its thumbs up or thumbs down.

establishment: Max's Restaurant (Roxas Boulevard)

date: around last year

verdict: thumbs down

incident: my partner and I came from an all-day activity and were quite hungry. prior to this incident, this was one of my fave Max's branches.

since it was around dinner time, medyo full house yata so we were told to sit and  wait. approximately 10 minutes later, a family consisting or more than 6 arrived and was told the same thing. a few minutes passed and they were told na may available table na for them and we were still waiting.

I really got dismayed and asked to speak with the manager. I gave him a piece of my mind before leaving the establishment. It should have been a first come, first serve rule.

Thumbs down to Le Suis Gourmand at Net One Bldg at the Fort; service was really slow and the pasta, fish and steak entrees we ordered tasted awful.

establishment: Tony Roma's ATC

date: everytime i eat there but these incidents happened a few months ago

verdict: thumbs up

incident:

the servers are always courteous but one time, when we complained that there was something swimming in the soup (of the day), the manager approached us, apologized, said that they won't charge us for the soup and gave us a privilege card for the trouble.

there was also another instance that the cookie of the skillet cookie sundae we ordered was not chewy, medyo matigas. again, the manager personally apologized and said they would replace the dish.

madali silang kausap and seldom do we experience managers coming up to us and personally apologizing so i see this as a thumbs up. sa iba kasi minsan kailangan mang-away ka pa tapos hindi sila apologetic.

establishment: Las Paellas in Promenade, Greenhills

date: sometime around May or June

verdict: thumbs down

incident:

my family went there for dinner on a weekend and the place was full. we had quite a long wait for the food and when they arrived, we were missing one dish - the paella negra. they said to follow in about 2 minutes.

we were all done eating already and wala pa din yung paella negra. yon pala hindi nagawa. when they said 2 minutes, that's when they started making it pa lang. nainis yung brother ko because he really didn't eat much on purpose cos he wanted the paella negra. we had the order cancelled then wala pang 1 minute after dumating. we didn't want to accept in anymore but the manager insisted we take it pa din, on the house.

in my book, to some extent they were able to redeem themselves naman with what the manager did but for the rest of my family, ayaw na nila bumalik don.

so whenever i need a canonigo fix, i eat there with my friends. hee.

but no bad experiences naman so far with las paellas branches in festival mall and bf paranaque.

date: about 2 months ago

verdict: thumbs up

incident:

my friends and i had lunch there. we didn't finish the pizza and had it wrapped to go. the server accidentally dropped it just as he got to the station where he was going to wrap it. we didn't actually see him drop it but he came to us to say that matatagalan yung pizza na pina-wrap because they were making a new one because he dropped the leftover pizza. they gave us a whole new pizza at no additional cost kahit na mga 2 slices lang yung tira namin.

the fact that we didn't see him drop the pizza and the fact that they took it upon themselves to do something about it so as to please the customer are major positive points. kasi pwede na sana niyang ni-wrap pa din yung pizza kahit nahulog kasi hindi namin nakita na nahulog diba? i think there are other establishments who would do that kind of thing.

ang pinaka-ayaw ko kasi is yung kailangan ko pa magreklamo o mang-away para lang ayusin nila ang service nila. so whenever i experience good customer service na natural, i am very satisifed.

i remember, last august when my son was sick. we ran out of mineral water.  me and my eldest went out to buy food and starbucks coffee. pagdating namin sa starbucks, of course, we ordered our coffee for takeout and we asked the barista if she knows of a place where we can get mineral water or at least purified water man lang kasi wala na nga kaming makita. then, the barista offered to refill our container with their water which is purified naman.
verdict: thumbs up for  starbucks for the additional service they provide their customers

i once ordered an iced drink. i picked it up at the bar and as i was walking towards my table, i dropped it. didn't even get a chance to have one sip. they replaced it for free.

establishment: agave, mexican resto in eastwood
date: friday, 7 dec 2007

incident:

my friends i decided to have dinner in eastwood to catch up. traffic was horrendous so there were only two of us who arrived on time. we settled for agave and it took us a good 20 minutes before the 2 of us could order because we were already making kwento already. we were there around 7pm. it took about another hour for our other friends to come. in fact, one of our friends came at 9pm pa. we transferred tables several times during the dinner ( we started at the non-smoking section, transferred to a bigger table at the same section, then we transferred to the smoking section where more people came to join us so we kept adding tables and chairs) all the while, their staff was super friendly and accomodating. some of the food was good, some were mediocre but their friendliness (all smiles all night) more than made up for that. they were pretty quick with the service and they were nice enough to re-heat some of the food after a while. considering it was a friday night and maraming tao sa resto, we appreciated their service and gave them a nice tip naman.

Bad EXPERIENCE AT TENDER BOB'S SHANGRI-LA MALL

verdict: TWO THUMBS DOWN

incident:
To cut the long story short:
1. We requested for table for 6, they squeezed us in a COUCH FOR 4 PEOPLE. There was a vacant table for 6 but the server JESSIE said it's reserved. It took about 30-45 minutes until it was occuppied.
2. We requested for an extra chair because it was so masikip in our table, DEADMA lang.
3. It was my ad my friend's birthday treat so one of our friends requested the staff to sing a song to us. THEY AGREED BUT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.
4. WORSTTTTTTTTTTT - We had leftover pasta. I asked the server to pack it. Grabe, dun niya nilagay sa table where they dish out. I watched her intently kase nga baka madumihan food ko. AYUN, THE SERVER NAMED JESSIE used a DIRTY FORK to scoop out the pasta. Kadiri! I saw her get the fork from a dirty dish na hindi ko alam kung sino kumain! Grabe! nanginginig ako sa galit She tried denying it per sorry i saw her with my two eyes. There was no manager on duty (daw!). They offered to give me new pata on the house, but I didn't accept it. I was not after the freebie. I left my number with the so-called supervisor na hindi mukhang supervisor kase I insisted to speak with a manager. It's been 3 months and still I didn't even get a call from the manager. SERVICE SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!!!

–– i ordered for their hawaiian burger,  and large fries, for take out, i gave my P200.00 payment, then place na ng order yung nasa cashier, i was waiting for my change, which is P86.00, binigyan na ako ng drinks, wala pa ring change, so i reminded the cashier na hindi pa niya binibigay yung change ko, "opo ma'am" was the answer, then, she gave me my number, then again i reminded her yung change ko ...

then, ang tagal ng service nila, 5 minutes na ang naka-lipas, wala pa rin yung order ko, hindi rin ako sinabihan kung ilang minutes ang ipaghihintay ko, so pumunta na ako sa counter nila, ayun, minadali na nila, it so happened na ibang counter yung nag-abot ng order ko, then i said "my change pa ako," then tinawag nung isang crew yung cashier na kumuha ng order ko, then i again told her, "wala pa yung change ko" ang sagot ba naman, "ano pong change?" then i said, "hindi mo pa ako sinusuklian sa P200 na pera ko" sumagot pa rin "sure po kayo?" ... then i showed her my coin purse, it so happened na P1,500 ang laman ng coin purse ko ... then i said "check mo [textspeak!] receipt ko" para makita at malaman mo kung may binigay ka na ngang change na andito sa coin purse ko ...

pagka-abot pa ng change ko, "ma'am, wala pa po ba talaga akong inaabot?"

"miss kanina ka pa" -- yun ang sinabi ko.

ay naku it was our 1st year anniversary pa naman.. hay.. im 5 months preggy, like ko kasi parang chinese food so go kami dito that time pa naman gutom na gutom na ako kasi kakagaling lang namin sa check-up nung umupo na kami walang nag-aasisit sa amin buti sana kung madaming tao. kaso wala 3 table lang ang may tao pangatlong table kami yung 2 tables parang patapos ng kumain.. si hubby pa ang kumuha ng menu sa counter nila then nung oorder na kami ang tagal hanapin ng waiter.. basta all in all bad service sila di tuloy namin binigyan ng tip kaka asar eh

  After doing our grocery shopping at SM hypermart, we decided on just picking up food for my husband's dinner since it was quite late. So we ordered their Half chicken combo with Pancit canton and lumpiang shanghai. Since I was making chika with my friend, at first we didn't notice that our order was taking so long. It was until we noticed that it was already more than 30 minutes since we placed our order. So we asked the counter person to follow up on our order. It was also when we decided to peek thru the window leading to the kitchen. You can just imagine our horror when we saw that " kinakamay ang pancit" while the chef was putting it in the plastic. The chef was so surprised when from the counter I called his attention " Manong bakit mo kinakamay? Hindi aso ang kakain nyan!" I then had to look for the manager/s on duty who were busy doing their thing across the store( foodcourt dining area). Worst the male manager stood up when we approached him and hid in the kitchen. Coz he never came out until we left. The other female manager never even apologized for the yucky incident. She just stared at us.   
Be careful when you order pancit from this establishment. Sayang Sarap pa naman ng chicken.

When I get bad service, I always make it a point to call the manager.  Then I get his name (make sure they know you are getting it).  But I don't stop there... I really look for their website or head office number.  I call and make sure the owners know what happened.  Madalas the managers just keep quiet about it.

BAD SERVICE:
1)  MARINA RESTAURANT in glorietta
   My hubby and I (a few months back) decided to have a late dinner there.  One of our orders was their laing.  Imagine our horror when we were halfway through with our meal - we found a long strand of hair in it.  Yuck!!!!   The female manager apologized but I was watching her she didn't even reprimand the cooks.
I called up their main office got to talk to one of the co owners.  He promised to look into it but never got back to me.
Usually bring my balikbayan friends/relatives there - NEVER AGAIN
2)  Teriyaki Boy - T Morato branch
The waiter had heavy colds.  And kept on  coughing while taking our order.  Nakaka walang gana.  I don't know why they make them work.
3)  GERRY's GRILL Glorietta
It is so hard to call the attention of the waiters.
Saw a mouse running on top of one of the beams.

GOOD SERVICE
CHILIS Tomas Morato- I've always liked eating there with my kids.  Servers are very attentive

So far the best service among all their branches

Gerry's Grill (Glorietta)
- The waiters / waitresses are very rude, minsan nagdadabog pa pag may extra order ka.

Max's (SM Marilao)
- They made my mom & dad wait for almost an hour (because the restaurant was full) only to tell them na ubos na pala ang chicken nila (Max's chicken nga eh, tapos walang chicken!) They should've informed my parents (while they were waiting) na wala na silang chicken, para lumipat na agad sila sa ibang restaurant.

- Their service had always been very poor. Their crew were not very pleasant to the customers, and it takes a long time for them to serve the food.

i remember kumain kami sa chowking one time, hindi kami nabigyan ng sukli at hindi namin naalala agad na wala pa pala kaming sukli. kumakain na kami nung naalala namin so in-approach ni hubby yung nasa counter. nung nalaman nung manager, pina-close nya yung counter then nagbilangan sila right there kung nagta-tally ba yung sales dun sa pera sa cashbox. ayun, sobra nga yung money na tugma naman sa dapat naming sukli. binigay nila agad.
