What is one thing Pinoys are known for?

I don't know if it's a complement or not but I think we're known for being great housekeepers. In short, maids or utusan.

Kaya siguro pag may nakikita silang pinoys or pinays na umaangat or any kind (Indonesians, vietnamese, etc.) talagang pilit nilang dina-down kasi nature talaga natin maglinis-linis lang or do the no-brainer tasks sabi nga. Sad but true. It might not be obvious pero.. basta mahirap ipaliwanag. Kung may isang group dyan na puerto rican, Indian, or kahit ano pa naku Pilipino talaga ang uunahing i-put down or isa sa mga mauuna. It's really unfair pero marami talagang stereotypers dyan.

I think I agree that we smile a lot. Masaya daw tayong kasama.

But I disagree na our nature is to do "no-brainer tasks." I've worked and studied overseas and I used my brains while I was there. Para sa akin hindi natin nature ang maglinis-linis. Ako nga, super tamad ako pagdating diyan. LOL.

While it's true that we export a lot of domestic helpers/construction workers, wala naman sigurong masama dun. Marangal pa rin.

BUT, we also have overseas workers that excel in the arts, IT, engineering, research and development, medicine, etc.

We're also known for being sweet. Yes we're sweet. Makalanggam na ka-sweetan. Kung latinas eh may pagka exotic or talagang ibang aura na parang matapang, yung mga pinoy naman sweet. na parang innocent kaya laging napagkakamalang..

we are resilient during rough and tough times..smiling and laughing it off as if defiant of pain and misery.

we are also known for being "chismosas/chismosos". this is embarrassing talaga! i've worked abroad and they really see pinoys as such. kakahiya! i've never started/participated in a rumor..i would rather talk about myself and my life...chismosas are bored/lifeless/dumb/uninteresting people who need a life.

I am annoyed by people who gossip a lot, too. I've encountered several Americans with Filipino heritage who thrive on gossiping. All I can do is scoff at them. You're so right, I'd rather talk about myself, my family, food that I cook, and places I've been to.

haha! this is so true, sis.

pero i realize, ang ganda pala ng brown skin color.
lalo na pag may pagka-shiny yung sa shoulder area. bronze na bronze, beach-tan effect.

mejo maputi ako, and now, i want to be tan. haha! bumili tuloy ako ng tanning spray.

anyway, what are pinoys known for?
approachable, friendly and hospitable. totoong totoo yan.

Foreigners always expect na magaling kumanta mga pinoy... so kainis for people like me who cant really sing... sometimes sa gatherings I end up being put on the spot and its really embarrassing....

yep, just like the previous posts: matulungin, family oriented, masiyahin, spiritual (predominantly christian), generous sa handaan, musically inclined, masipag at matiyaga; good accountants, doctors and nurses;

ang di lang nila ma-gets eh kung bakit ang dami daw pinoy na nagpupumilit na mag mukhang "puti"

nagpapakulay ng hair na blonde/brown. nagpapa bleach. basta di nila yun magets.

ako rin di ko rin yun ma-gets eh. konti lang kaming pinoy dito na itim pa rin ang buhok at di gumagamit ng likas papaya. heheh!

eh bakit sila.. if they want to get tanned, are they also trying to look brown? unfair naman. eh caucasians do try to dye their hair to a different color. does that mean their wishing to look like their from another race? =/

^They tan because it looks healthy. In the Philippines, people wants to look while because dark skin is considered ugly. They change their hair color 1) to get a different look but not necessarily to look like from a different race 2) because they can. Not all hair color works for people with darker complexion.

So, there's two different intentions there...if you know what I'm saying.
