oo sis, iba talaga ang support ng sports bra. maa-appreciate mo sya lalo pag tumatalon ka when jumping rope.

Awwww. I guess it's partly due to genetics as well. I've had the opposite effect...my legs look great because of all the jumping rope I've done. One time, I wore a short skirt to work, and then a bunch of girls bought jump ropes later that very same day.  ;D

Here's how I got started and lost 20 lbs, simply with a jump rope.

^ Nice workout! I am kinda like you. I usually do 5 sets of 100 jumps before going to work. Then before going to bed, I do probably 4 sets of 100. I do not really count, but I do it while watching television or listening to some songs from my ipod. We have a cross trainer at home so I use it sometimes, but not as much as my jump rope.

It really toned my muscles especially thigh muscles. It gave me more energy too.

Jump rope works for me, too! Super saya because I tried it only after reading this thread. I incorporated it into my 1-hour walks 3x a week, but at present I can still only do about 120-150 jumps. Pero for sure, nag-improve ang tone ng leg muscles ko. They feel leaner and stronger, too. Somehow, I think it also helped improved my abdominal muscles. Although marami pa rin talaga akong tummy fat, I can tell that the muscles have somehow tightened. Siguro, pag tinuloy-tuloy ko ito mas magiging happy ako with the results. ;)

Thanks for the great advice sisses! :P

Yes, jumping rope is a great way to do HIIT Interval training.
Thats what i do. I jump rope for 2 minutes and then walk around/jog in place for 1 minute and then jump rope again for 2 minutes.

I can go up to 5 cycles before i get too tired and then i stop and rest.

My goal is to go for 10 cycles straight. I started by trying to do 100 straight jumps but then I shifted to HIIT

Try it and enjoy! It will really help you cardio fitness

dreamfairy07,

i respectfully disagree that jumping rope will make one's legs big. Muscle development is due to weight/resistance training,  and even then girls will not develop muscles by just lifting weights simply because the female body is different than the male body. You will have to be lifting seriously heavy weights for a long time before you develop "big" muscles.

So what more when jumping rope, where you only use your own body weight.
Jumping rope will definitely not make one's "pata" big. Im living proof that you can actually be slimmer by using jumping rope. Its a great cardio workout for weight loss.

Another argument is boxers - jumping rope is a big part of their training but you don't see heavy muscled boxers - most of them have lean muscles due to the cardio effect of jumping rope.
