maia.alcyone: yup! choose a good enclosure, and try to get a 7,200rpm drive. you'll need a laptop drive (since you want it USB-powered) so those have a dimension of 2.5 inches as opposed to the 3.5-inch desktop drives, which cannot be USB-powered.

^as fas as i know, wala pang portable na 1TB, you still need to plug it sa kuryente. biggest portable HD is 500GB ata.

i'm thinking of buying that one because it's shock proof. but i also want something na hindi mawawala yung files kahit na after ilang years.

i've been reading reviews for different external HD's. ang hirap pumili. nakakatakot na baka biglang mawala lahat ng files ko after ilang months...

^ I have both WD and Seagate. My WD works just fine, bought it in HK last Nov 08, if converted to peso, it's around P2,500 for 160GB. So far, so good. Just in case, I back up files din, kahit tedious.

As for the Seagate, I have the 1TB drive, bought at ATC for P7K I experience may lag ang pag oopen but my files are safe naman.

Thanks sa reply sis. Merong binigay na warranty yung seller, 1 year. Pero meron pa ata na separate na warranty para sa product kasi nirefer nya yung Manufacturer's warranty e.

Pero sa tingin mo ba matibay yung brand?
