Included with the copy of Mario Kart Wii available by next month.

hai everyone!!im planning to buy nintendo wii...kasi got ps2 and i would like to try wii naman. but im a little bit confused..what are available controllers with wii console?i mean yung alam ko lang kasi yung parang remote control... need pa ba yung common controller like with ps2?depende ba sa type ng game na lalaruin yung controller?thanks in advace,,,

thinay11, the standard control for Wii is the "Wiimote" and the Nunchuk attachment. Almost all the Wii games uses that controller. The Classic Controller (the one that looks like your standard gamepad) can also be used depending on the game. You can also use the Gamecube controller, but that's mostly for previous Gamecube owners.

For others, the Wiimote (w/ Nunchuck) is the only one needed (i.e. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Wii Sports and Wii Play)

If you look at the back of the Wii game cases, there are icons located at the upper-right corner which indicates what controllers can be used for that particular game. Those icons are discernible in knowing what they are, no rocket science is required, trust me.

jygo26, are you talking about the Vii? Yes, it's called Vii. It's a China-made, cheap knockoff of the Wii.

It uses cartridges like the ones for Gameboy Advance and the remote doesn't have pointing capability though it has motion detecting. I've seen the reviews and almost died laughing. Coz when you actually open the Vii, the only thing inside is the cartridge reader the size of a Gameboy Micro and (the most hilarious part) a piece of metal just to add weight to the whole schbang. Might as well settle in buying from US or Japan.

I think I saw some in Greenhills recently.

Mas okay kaya bumili ng US, unmodded pero sealed box never opened? Kaso diba di naman valid warranty dito sa atin?

marief2rnurse, actually, you should have a Wi-Fi router for that to work. Or if you have the Smart BRO that connects to your PC using USB, you can connect that to the Wii.

Costs about P7500, though, but my supplier's still considering on lowering the price.

Just a tidbit, if ever you want to connect your Wii to your Wi-Fi network, I suggest Linksys. So far I haven't encountered much lag when playing online with Guitar Hero 3, Super Smash Bros. BRAWL and Mario Kart Wii. In case you're wondering which Linksys router, it's WRT54G Wi-Fi Router.
