im so thankful i found this site. right now im already fixing my papers para ma submit ko na sa Embassy. And im just waiting sa papers na ipapadala sa akin ng aunt ko. I'll be working as a live-in caregiver sa kanila. Kasama ko yung dalawang boys nila, ages 8 and 16.
Medyo kinakabahan ata ako dun sa Speak Test. Kasama pa rin ba sha sa process? Kc as ive read sa thread sabi hindi na raw kasama. Is that true?

^^yes, may CANSPEAK test. no worries, madali lang daw sabi ng officemate ko na nag-take 2 weeks ago. nakapasa naman sya.

try mo Mercan Recruit...not sure of the name talaga. Try to google na lang.  nga pala, bakit gusto mo pa mag-agency? puwede naman direct hire. just like my 2 officemates, via jobbank lang sila nakakuha ng employer.

Hello to everyone,

My application was lodged at the embassy June 22, 2008 then next I received the acknowledgement receipt from the embassy August 7, 2008.  Parang mabilis na lang talaga ngayon.  How long na kaya ang waiting time sa notice or letter informing you can take SPEAK TEST? (kakakaba!!! grabe na 'to).  Meron po ba nakaka alam?

^hi, sis. i'm done with all the process, i received my visa already and im leaving the country anytime soon, tita ko sponsor hehe. anyway, i submitted my documents last june 2007, received an acknowledgment letter july last year, received my letter for speak this may, had my speak test last june, received my letter for medical 2 weeks after the speak test, and got my visa last aug 16. goodluck

regarding sa speak test, wag ka kabahan sis, mostly basic lang tinatanong nila ang they gauge your confidence and commskills and knowlegde lang. kaya mo yan.

by the way, just an update...my sis appln was denied due to her employers incapabality to provide adequate source of income as required.  actually, nakapag medical na sis ko...last step na lang in which humihingi ang embassy ng sort of proof of income sa employer.  That time, the employer no longer needs a caregiver kase parang malubha na yung patient (yung aalagaan).  So hindi na sila naging cooperative and they didnt want to divulge any financial info.  Unfortunately this was what happened. 

sa ngayon, nakahanap uli ng employer ang sis ko.  nkpagsubmit n ng appln last march, got a confirmation.  so now, waiting na lang sa notice ng embassy for the next step.  sana naman this time maging ok na.  God bless us!!!

san ba makakahanap ng employer? kasi diba its one of th requirements para sa live in caregiver program?

^ my sis was able to get an employer tru our relative who resides in Canada.

Nga pla ask me [textspeak!], yung before the test proper yung sa mga skills meron raw
ipapakita na mga pictures (tama ba yun?) sa monitor then you will describe
it raw? Pano yun?  Kasi need me [textspeak!] po atleast meron me idea.  Dito lang kasi
ako kumukuha ng ideas para makapag prepare hehe .... kahit matagal pa yung time ko wait sa TEST) Please help me nman po ule.  Thank you so much and

^sis, wala na yung pictures, dun naman ibebase yung communication skills mo. ang mga tinanong sakin noong speak ko,
-how do you bathe an infant
-how do you clean a thermometer
-what is the most memorable wedding you've attended
-how to you treat a chemical burn
-agree/disagree that you should read the labels of a canned good/ agree or disagree that poisonous materials should be kept and locked?

kaya nyo yan mga sis, presence of mind lang. wag kakabahan, pakita nyo na confident kayo na alam nyo lahat. break a bone!

vampirella, helpful yung mga tips na nakuha ko sa iyo. thanks ah. yung friend ko kasi sa friday na yung speak test nya eh.

about your question, ito yung mga naikwento ng mga kakilala kong nagpunta here. sa immigration daw ang tinatanong lang ay kung saan ka pupunta sa canada then may nabalitaan akong nag-enter sa vancouver then tinanong daw ng immigration kung may mag offer ng job sa kanya na hindi caregiver ay kung kukunin daw ba nya yung trabaho ang sagot daw ng babae ay oo then pinabalik daw agad sa pinas.

time pressured ba yung speak test?

^^^lonelymiss28: you're welcome, sis. good luck sa kanya ha. magconcentrate lang siya kasi parang callcenter sa time ng speaktest niya, sabay sabay magsasalita lahat, maingay,  pero dapat focused lang siya sa sarili niya.

^cherylg: yes, sis, 30 seconds siya, pag 10 seconds na lang, magrered na yung timer.by that time dapat mejo patapos ka na din.

**mga sis, another tip lang din, kung may procedure kayong ieexplain, always start by washing your hands and end it by washing the hands.

routine urinalysis, xray, pregnancy test, hiv, limot ko na yung iba eh.
