ive already finished my speaktest. kakadating lang ng confirmation ko n magpamedical.San kya ma mabilis magpamedical?yung mabilis ang process ng result dito? taga makati ako pero ok [textspeak!] din kung sa st. lukes basta mas mabilis ang pagforward sa embassy..
and kailangan ko p bang irenew yung passport ko? pano b magparenew?my 3 yrs validity pa kase yung passport ko..

If i remember it right , yung sa sister ko yes need talaga umaattend ng seminar sa POEA at may makukuha ka dun na paper/certification - i think that is needed para sa pag purchase mo rin ng plane ticket mo.

Go to the Nationwide Health Clinic. Less hassle sila, and kung walang problem mabilis nila i-forward sa embassy yung results. Just be there VERY early in the morning (6 or 7)para matapos ka agad. Pag mga 9am ka na dumating, matagal ka maghihintay. Bring bottled water to drink to induce your pee.

For those of you who have tried to sponsor a caregiver in the Phils, i just want to know the exact procedure. Im a stay-at-home-mom and would like to go back to the workforce soon, so im planning to send my sis-in-law to take a caregiving course, she might start this school year.

Question:
-Since mag-aaral pa lang yung SIL ko, and it would around aprrox. 6mos to finish the course, when can i start the whole process, can i start soon after she graduates?
-Im aware that i need to publish an add, kelangan ba sa mga major newspaper, or pwede na yung sa pinoy newspapers published here?
-Meron bang family income that needs to be considered to be able to sponsor a caregiver?
-We live in a 1br apartment at the moment, pwede kaya ito? We'll just get a 2br once the caregiver arrives. We'll be buying a house in the next 2-3 yrs. pa

I sponsored my friend to come here to look after my 2 kids (10 & 16), because i'm planning to go back to school when she comes here. Here's the answer to your questions:

Since mag-aaral pa lang yung SIL ko, and it would around aprrox. 6mos to finish the course, when can i start the whole process, can i start soon after she graduates?
     * I would suggest na mga 1 to 2 months bago magtapos ang kapatid mo ng caregiver, bago ka mag-apply sa HRDC, dahil it will take about 1 month bago ma-approve ang papers nyo. Pwede sya kahit sa mail ka lang mag-apply. no need to go there.

-Im aware that i need to publish an add, kelangan ba sa mga major newspaper, or pwede na yung sa pinoy newspapers published here?
     *No need, kahit nga sa Jobbank ka lang mag-publish as long as may maipapakita kang proof na your really looking ay pwede na. free sa jobbank, all you need is your business number.

-Meron bang family income that needs to be considered to be able to sponsor a caregiver?
     *Yup, dahil titingnan nila kung capable kayong magpa sweldo ng caregiver/employee.

     *sa form na makukuha mo from HRDC, naka specify doon kung ilan ang room ng bahay nyo, dahil they want to make sure na may sariling privacy and room ang kukunin nyong caregiver. so kung nakalagay doon ay isa pa lang for now ay maqu-question kayo dahil once na mag submit kayo ng form ,naka specify na dapat doon na mayroon na syang room pagdating nya.

Concern ko din talaga yung tirahan namin ngayon, kung lilipat naman ako ng 2br, syang naman yung bayad ko sa isang room [textspeak!] naman mag ooccupy. tho we have plans of buying a house, dapat meron muna mag-aalga sa anak namin so i could work full time. May nabasa akong post dito about ths situation and they were able to work things out. Paano kaya ginawa nila.

     *I have no idea, kasi ang sweldo ng magiging caregiver mo is minimum. Titingnan nila kung capable kang makapag pa-sweldo ng minimum.

- How to I apply sa HRDC - can I apply online?
     *You can print their forms online, then send it to them by mail. but before that, you have to call them first and tell them your thinking/planning of getting a caregiver from pinas then they will tell you to find someone from here first and that's the time to publish/post your ads. it could be in newspaper or online like jobbank.

- How do i apply sa jobbank? Anong proof yung pwede ko ipakita to show that I really need a caregiver?
     *Call hrdc first or you can go to their office then they will help/assist you to do that. Kasi they are asking for business number in their website eh, so i have no idea pag walang business number, or maybe you can give them a call.
     About proof, i think pag nag submit ka ng form, proof na iyon na in need ka ng caregiver.

About sa tirahan mo ay magiging concern iyon ng HRDC dahil sasabihin nila sa iyo na pag kukuha ka ay dapat meron ka ng room para sa kukunin mo, dahil alam mo naman here sa canada, very concern sila sa privacy ng tao here. Saka sis, di pwedeng pag-isahin ang room ng baby at caregiver, so kung may baby na kayo ay may room din sya dapat, dahil ang anak here ay isang room ang counted, so kung kukuha kayo ng bahay at caregiver ay at least 3 bedrooms.

Mabuti na yung malinaw ang lahat para hindi na rin ako mahirapan sa kung ano mang mga bagay-bagay ang kailangan ko asikasuhin.

Sa ngayon, problem lang yung tirahan. Medyo meron pa naman akong panahon to look at this matter. Kasi kung talagang kailangan naman e di lilipat na lang kmi pero atleast alam ko na ngyon pa lang para makapag prepare ako .

sis rics - share ko lang sa yo...my sister in canada sponsored/hired my another sister dito sa pinas - (bale same process po sa mga binanggit ni sis lonelymis28)

* about dun sa dapat may sariling bedroom yung caregiver - yap correct po yun kasi concern talaga yun. but my sister in canada just placed dun sa form na oo may another room yung caregiver but in fact wala talaga kasi she lives in an apartment. kung baga nilagay nya lang na meron kasi required talaga.... so far umokey naman hindi naman sya pinuntahan sa haus nya para i check if ilan talaga ang rooms dun.

im not saying its safe to just say na meron - but kasi sya kaya medyo di sya worried kasi nakabili na sya talaga ng townhouse (pre-selling) and expecting to be turned over this march 2008 - so she was thinking na if in case she will be visited by hrdc and ma question if bakit walang room provision for the caregiver she will just tell na paglipat nila sa new townhouse may room na, waiting lang talaga for the turnover

(although may sister was already there since last september 2007)

rics, yung ibang pinay na kilala ko from toronto na may anak ay pinaaalagaan nila anak nila sa pinay din na may anak, bale extra income iyon o kaya sa mga pinoy na retired na. kasi sabi nila mas mura ang bayad pag ganoon. ang downfall nga lang noon pagdating mo from work kukunin mo anak mo then ikaw pa rin ang mag-aasikaso sa bahay like luto, linis pakain kay baby, unlike nga naman pag live-in ay wala ka ng aalalahanin dahil alam mong safe ang anak mo at pagdating mo malinis na ang bahay mo then may pagkain na rin. that's also the reason kung kaya gusto ko kumuha ng live-in bago ako mag enroll, para wala na me aalalahanin sa bahay, saka mas maganda dahil kaibigan ko magiging kasama ng mga anak ko, i'm sure they will enjoy each other.

^Wait a sec, kasama din ba sa responsibilities ng caregiver ang household chores? May mga kilala kasi akong live-in caregivers dito wala naman masyado ginagawa, yung mga bata lang daw ang inaasikaso nila. Gigising lang ng maaga para ihatid ang mga bata sa gate (kasi sa acreate sila nakatira) para sumakay ng school bus. They come home at around 3:30pm. The whole time na wala ang mga bata, wala syang ginagawa kundi matulog at mag-internet.

Anyway, gaano katagal bago nakarating ang friend mo dito sa Canada? I don't really need a caregiver but my husband and I talked about helping my cousin to come here.

^^I was thinking about paalagaan ang baby namin a mga pinoy, may naririnig din nga ako na ganito at marami nga daw na ganito sa toronto. pero parang hindi kasi ako masyadong palagay sa ganitong situation. syempre gusto ko rin na talagang kakilala ko yung mag aalga. nagtanong tanong na rin ako, pero wala ring medyo malapit lang dito where we live.

dimaplesgon: thanks for the info sis. siguro naman understandable na yun na wala pang room vailable for the caregiver kasi wala pa naman sya dito, and that room will be provided for her when she arrives. ito kasi ang talagang problem sa ngayon, our plan talaga is to buy a house pero hindi pa muna ngayon, kelangan may mag alaga muna sa anak namin on a fulltime basis. pero try ko pa rin na mag apply kahit naka apartment muna ako, malay mo makalusot.

kvandenhaak: i think pwede na kasama ang housekeeping sa duties ng caregiver. marami akong nakikita sa mga adds na kasama yung ganyan.

Question again:
would you have any idea kung magkano ang fee kung padadaanin ko sa agency yung pagkuha ng caregiver para sila na mag asikaso ng mga papers and all?

^Ah talaga? Then I guess, it's worth it to get one. Tsaka household chores here are not that laborious kasi me washing machine, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, "swiffer" at kung anik anik pa.

^sa caregiver depende sa usapan mo kung kasama ang house chores. most of the time pag dito ka kukuha sa canada, pag sinabi mong mag-aalaga ng bata ay iyon lang talaga ang gagaiwn nila. pero pag sa pinas ka kukuha since nakatira sila sa bahay mo ay kasama na yung paglilinis and all.

about sa agency, ang alam ko nasa $2,500 to $3,000 ang babayaran. sila na ang mag-aasikaso ng lahat ng papers, pero ang magbabayad ay yung kukunin mo, ang alam ko sa mga employer ay walang babayaran. kelangan lang nila yung form coming from you na ipapasa sa hrdc.
