I just thought caregiver issues should be given a separate thread.  Masyado n [textspeak!] mahaba ang Migrating to Canada.

Now, this is my question...(I'm speaking on bhalf of my sister)
I need your help pls.

I received a letter from the Canadian Embassy informing me that I passed the SPEAK TEST, now they are requiring me to undergo a medical examination.  And another requirement (before they process my work permit) is a T4 or financial statement from my employer. 

Here’s a little history:
My employer is the daughter of my client/yung aalagaan ko.  My salary would be coming from my client, galing sa pension nya or any other source…basta may pera ang client ko.  Pero siempre, hindi n sya nagttrabaho, kaya wala syang T4 or financial statement.  At ayaw nila magpagawa ng financial statement ng client ko for personal reasons.  Yung employer ko nman ay nag wo worry kung acceptable ba sa Canadian Embassy yung salary nya.  Maliit lang daw sinusweldo nya. 

My question is ok lang bang T4 ng employer ko at ng anak nya ang isubmit sa Canadian Embassy.  And one thing more, talaga bang hinihingan ng T4 khit Canadian mismo ang employer ko? 

Help me pls.  This is the last stage of my application before I can finally get my work permit.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

i have an ofcmate whose sister has been employed as a caregiver in canada...the Financial statement that was in the requirement
is not at all neccessary according to canadian embassy... required lang sya sa petition, immigrant etc...but for live in caregiver, it is not
a requirement..

My employers are Canadian. I got no t4 of my employers kasi confidential naman talaga ang t4. But they sent me parang voucher (tama ba? hehe). Depende yan sa interviewer kung hihingin sa'yo ang t4. Wag ka magppresent ng mga documents kung hindi hihingin ng consul while having your interview.

^ iba na kasi ngayon, instead of the interview, applicants now have the option to take the speak test. should they pass, the interview will be waived and the next step will be medical exams and requests for nbi clearance, additional forms (t4 or paystubs) from the employer and submission of passport.

the new process will hopefully speed-up the process of applying for a live-in caregiver working permit. i think this is the embassy's way of catching up on their backlog considering that applicants no longer have to wait for 12mos or more for an interview appointment. note that the embassy is able to administer tests to 100-110 applicants daily as opposed to a limited number of personal interviews by consuls.

todate, only my employer(the daughter of my client) submitted her 2005 & 2006 T4 to the canadian embassy here in the Phils.  i hope everything will turn out ok. 

would you know how much is the acceptable minimum salary reqt of the canadian embassy for an employer???

hi sis lauren, you seem to be very knowledgeable in this matter.  just curious, have u applied as an immigrant already?  (you may opt not to answer  ).  thanks anyway for all the info.  god bless.

^Sa Canadian Embassy nag submit ng T4? Did I get your message right sis? Kasi ang alam ko, sa applicant dapat binibigay ang T4 Cause just in case hanapan siya ng consul during the interview (if she'll go for one), meron siyang ippresent

actually, i passed the speak test/interview already.  that was stated in the letter i received from the embassy.  to finally process daw my work permit, they require a form to be filled out by my employer and the T4 nga.  sa form, ang instructions is for my employer to fax it to the canadian embassy.  pero sa T4, walang specific instructions.  so i told my employer to fax na rin pati yung T4 [textspeak!] nung form na pina p fuillupan sa kanya.

i think this will be the last stage, [textspeak!] i undergo a medical na rin as per their instruction.

^OO sis Direct hired ako ng Canadian employer ko ngayon. Pinaghanap ako ng employer ng mga kamag-anak ko rito sa Edmonton. May mga kamag-anak ka ba rito sa Canada?

Malayo ka pala dito sa Edmonton. May mga kakilala naman ako sa Vancouver, kasama ko dati sa Training for Caregivers.

hi everyone! yup! i also applied for a working permit under the LCP program. my employer is my cousin who is married and has a 4 year old daughter. i am done with the speak test and the medical tests already.

the T4 and filled out form was also faxed by my cousin directly to the embassy of canada here in manila. i just instructed my cousin to indicate my file number on all the pages of the forms just in case they get mixed up with other documents. 

hay, let's all pray that things will work for the best for all of us here!

From day 1 sis, how long it took your papers to processed?

Mga sis, help! Which caregiver school in the Philippines would you recommend? I heard meron daw talagang school na ang curriculum eh specifically for Canada caregivers.

i studied at IGET.  pero i wouldn't recommend this school, [textspeak!] nagsasara na most of their branches.  nag worry nga ako before, [textspeak!] nagsara na yung branch na pinag enrolan ko. 

i think St. Augustine is ok.  dito nag aral ang isang friend ko...mukhang ok nman.  kya lang wala pa syang employer.  ang student talaga ang maghahanap ng employer.  hindi nakasalalay sa school ang paghahanap ng employer.
