I want to take up SPED. Anong suggestions nyo na school?

Nag take ako dati sa UPOU ng caring for the special child, okay naman parang introduction sa sped.

^^ Sa UP Diliman the best ang special ed programme nila both bachelor's and master's degree.

^i don't think so, sis.  a close friend took up her cert program, sped, and sped MA sa UP and sabi niya sa kin if i really want to take up cert prog better na mag-pnu na lang ako.  nagka-problema siya sa prc before she took let and muntik pang di maka-graduate sa MA niya due to the politics within the inst. 

sa UP daw kasi pinabayaan lang sila mamili ng subjects and since she wants to pursue art therapy in relation to sped puro art subjects ang na-take nya.  prc questioned this and my friend needed to ask for a justification from UP pa before she was allowed by prc to take the let.  she advised me na before ako mag-enroll pa-check ko muna sa prc yung mga subjects na kukunin ko para walang sabit.

^ sa PNU nga lang sis, you are required to have 1 year of sped teaching before you can take the MA. or 2 years teaching regular students

yes its really necesary that you've experienced teaching na,not necessarily sa sped but dun sa normal..its a criterion kasi its helpful na naexperienced mo na yung ibat ibang atmosphere sa classroom, different types of learners,etc..

mas maganda sa pnu because lahat ng professors specialized sa field at sa abroad pa nag practice..

^^sis, this is for the 18 units of educ subjects required for the certification so pang undergrad siya.  this is what you need to be able to take LET.  wala namang adviser pag sa undergrad, pang MA lang yon.

speaking of adviser, meron siya non sa MA nya, required naman yon when you're taking your MA.  kaso since mapulitika nga sa UP, yung adviser niya and yung dean nagka-conflict ata sometime in the past.  resulta nito hinarang ng dean ang thesis niya kahit na approved ng adviser lahat ng procedures taken during the course of the study.  bongga nga ang friend ko kasi talagang nag-patawag pa ng meeting with the graduate committee yung dean and adviser niya to arrive at a decision.  the adviser is really furious and told my friend na pag di pa rin talaga nakalusot sa grad committee, they'll take it to the chancellor.  kaso lusot sa grad committee... so naka-graduate ang friend ko.  and to make the victory sweeter, her thesis was nominated as "the best thesis for the year"... kahit nomination lang yon, it was vindication ala creme dela creme!

^ i took my undergrad sped in UP (batch 2000) and I did have an adviser, si Ma'am Adorio.  we couldn't take just any subject w/out consulting with her first, some subjects kc needed prerequisites and to make sure we stay in line with the course program.  my batchmates and i enjoyed our undergrad years and some of us even pushed through with MA (but i took reading as a major not sped as i was teaching reading in a pvt school).  we passed our LET w/out any problems w/ the PRC.  anyway it was 8 yrs ago, some things might have changed then.  but i hope di naman sana.

anung pagkakaiba ng teaching sa highschool at college? bukod sa walang lesson plan ang college

Kung di masyado nagulat ang pamilya at mga kaibigan dahil English teacher ako dito sa Vietnam... medyo nagulat sila dahil preschool teacher na din ako. Makulit, oo. Magulo, oo. Pero masaya ko. At mukhang masaya naman sila. Minsan lang talaga napapaisap ako kung may natututunan silang matino sa akin.

pumunta lang ako dito... yung English school kasi may 3 Pilipina na, gf ng pinsan ko yung isa. ininterview lang ako nung principal tapos ok na. yung sa preschool naman Pilipina yung may-ari. kilala ng kilala ko... hehe, ang gara no. anyway, pwede naman ang ganun dito sa Vietnam, punta ka lang dito saka ka mag-apply. pwede ka rin mag-apply online tapos tawagan ka nila...

sis Eugenie, baka nga nag-change na.  my friend finished her undergrad in 2005 or 2006.  she just graduated from her MA last march 2008.

^^sais, are you and educ grad? or did you just take up the 18 units of educ then LET?  are these required sa vietnam or any course will do for an english teacher?

^^my degree is Bachelor of Arts in Communications. parang MassComm. depende sa aapplyan mo yung hihingin sayo. ako wala akong ibang certifications such as CELTA o TOEFL man lang. pero syempre mas mataas ang value mo kung may ganun ka.

^hmm... sounds very interesting.  balak ko kasi talagang mag-turo din ng english pero siguro kuha muna ko ng educ units then tesol.

btw, 18 units pa rin ba needed to be able to take LET?  may nagsabi kasi sa kin na 30 units na daw needed for this year?  how true mga sis?
