oui, je parle francais! s'il ya des personnes ici qui veulent pratiquer leur francais, pratiquez avec moi! ca me fait plaisir! 

^ Spanish is always easier than French, particularly if you speak English at least (what more if you also know Tagalog). That's because the sentence construction is similar, some you can even translate word for word and it'll make sense (note, not all of course). Unlike in French, it's really different, in terms of construction.

actually almost same lang yung construction ng sentence sa english and sa french. one example is: in french - > je peux exprimer que'st ce que je veux dire en francais.
in english i can (je peux) express (exprimer) what (que'st ce que) i want (je veux) to say (dire) in french ( en francais). voila! 

i've always wanted to study french, but i have no time. saka wala naman akong makakausap ng french kaya di ko rin mapa-practice. nag-aral ako ng sign language early this year (coz i'm taking up SPED), pero nakalimutan ko na kasi wala naman akong naeencounter na deaf. sayang tuloy.

Allo! Ca va? To the iskos, is Le Club Francais still active? Does Teddy, Reilly or Mme Chan still teach? Am I showing my age here??  

I don't know how it is now but during my time I find Alliance better when you're after conversational (slang) french while UP teaches more on the grammatical (formal) side of the language. Do they teach higher grammar and literature in Alliance now? Maybe I should go brush up on the frog language.

mga sis, effective ba talaga mag-aral ng french through cd?  i don't have the time and resources to study in a language school so i'm thinking of buying a cd instead. is it worth it? since it's kinda pricey, i just want to know that I'll be getting my money's worth.

^sis, you can search itunes podcast for french for beginners and french ecole, they both are good.
the 2008 school calender is already up in alliance francaise philippine's website, whose enrolling?
i have to take one on one tutorial lessons though to switch from extensive to semi-intensive.

^^ are french classes in UP only for UP students? say, for example, you're working and you wanna take up French classes and you did not graduate from UP, would they allow you to study there?

I took 2 modules sa Alliance nung nasa Pinas pa ko. Grabe, halos magkabalubaluktot yung dila ko. Kailangan talaga practice kasi kung di mo rin lang gagamitin, makakalimutan mo rin like me. Parang halos wala na kong maalala sa lahat ng napag aralan ko.

The Department of European Languages offers non-credit basic, intermediate and advanced extramural courses in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish for non-UP students. Courses run for ten 3-hour sessions every Saturday. Students may choose from two schedules: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

i found the coffee break french podcast very helpful for beginners. download it on to your ipod and you get free french lessons. award-winning pa yung class. i think available din sya sa mp3 format so kahit di sa ipod ok na. meron sya enhanced version for ipod touch/video na fina-flash yung word as they say it para alam mo pati spelling.

warning lang dun sa mga mag-aaral sa alliance ng wala pa talagang alam sa french: they won't teach you yung talagang basic. what they do is speak to you in french right away. they believe you learn faster that way. hulaan mo na lang kung ano yung tinatanong nung teacher at kung ano isasagot mo, hahaha... it's like throwing someone who doesn't know how to swim into the water, thinking he'll learn how to survive somehow. di ako tumuloy because of that. e kaya ka nga magi-enroll para matuto eh... self-study lang ang kinalabasan...

yung instructor namin sa level 2, french magsalita pero may hand gestures so kahit pano naiintindihan namin, pero pag bago yung itinuturo niya, tagalog magsalita...pero most of the time french...we're coping naman. at magaling siya magturo.he he

P2800 for 30 hours, 3 hours per session. =)
