Its scary because they are opinionated and mature too early. I think TV is not helping on that sense because they imitate how those young ladies look. Haaayyy!! I just hope my young ones will be more sensible.

Sana.

i admire younger women of today's generation when it comes to their careers. at such an early age, nagiging successful sila at parang andali lang sa kanila.

kaya lang pagdating sa emotional na bagay, specially love, most of them tend to take things seriously.

when it comes to pananamit naman, most of them ay medyo nawawala na ang pagiging conservative, which is okay pa rin. meron lang ilan na nagiging medyo bastusin na ang dating pero konti lang sila.

so in general, mas gusto ko ang attitude ng mga kababaihan ngayon kaysa noong naunang generation!

and i'm glad i belong to them, heheeh!

To add to what I posted earlier, some of them are too aggressive for their own good not only with boys but with business.

^ I agree. less moral values, mas aggressive more on speed dating, text-ligaw, the need for speed in life in general. mahilig sa technology more than before (w/c is understandable kasi technology now is a necessity in our time, no longer a luxury). more on cyber activities, cyber friendships. more on Facebooking and e-mails.
more independent...yay!

very well connected and much richer. since callcenters are a boom now, parang they have much more disposable income. pero ang ayaw ko lang e mas exposed sila sa sex stuff and metrialism

This is a good question...

When I was still in HS, I never wanted to get older cus I was having too much fun and I knew that I will never like the same music and stuff after couple of years. Now, when I see HS girls (even my own sister) naiinis ako sa sobrang kaartehan nila sometimes. Like when we go to malls and restos parang mas laong umaarte and mas nagiging liberated sila. What will they be like in 15 years time?

kakaiba.

The polarity is more marked.

Meaning, kung matino matino talaga .. strongly-principled, conservative values (not outdated ha! ibang term yon), driven, deep-thinking (may depth ang pananaw sa buhay buhay, ika nga), aggressive, courageous.   Definitely, an achiever in her field/area of interest .. plus generally kind, decent and fair to all mankind.

Meaning,  kung hindi matino ... OMGrief!
Acts slutty then becomes slutty,  defies convention in unprincipled ways, parang loose canon,  bad influence,  destructive ...weak.
Mantra ata ng ganito eh:  Misery loves company.  Instead of "spread the love"  -- "spread the misery/problems" .. nandadamay
Perhaps when 1 is empty,  1 becomes destructive.
Atchaka.. mababaw.  Kaya ang favorite response to major issues eh:  "wala lang"  huh?!
These tend to be materialistic... kaya ayon, "anything goes"  basta ma enjoy lang the lifestyle they desire.

But well, as my lola says:  people change.
Yeah sure, but do not hold your breathe waiting for that.
But do help when they ask for a salbabida (hehe, that is what our old yaya calls lifesavers) ...

parang iba na sila ngayon.
hindi ako nagmamalinis pero ang pinaka kalokohan ko na nun eh yung tumakas para mag punta ng mall o kaya ki-kick back ng "pambili ng books" para may pang gastos sa mall...that was way back highschool and college.

ngayon iba na talaga sila. as in sa pananamit.

as for my mom, since she thinks im part of the younger women generation, tingin niya mas career oriented na ang ladies ngayon, they don't think much of marriage and having their own family. unlike daw sa generation nila settling down na daw ang nasa isip.

as for me about the younger than me generation, i see them as really aggressive, fashionable people,  more westernized and some maybe lacking in morals , filipino values and most of them were not well educated on the philippine culture.

nakita ko nga nephew ko field demo nila is dancing to the tune of jai ho of pussycat dolls. maybe folk dance was a thing of the past, pero it instills some values. oh well, we're becoming more modern and that we have to accept.

POSITIVE: Empowered - they can do male stuffs even sa sports while maintaining their femininity, they're not afraid to speak up, fashionable-most of them conscious sa looks which is good, they have learned to love their own skin (size and color, or any physical imperfection doesn't matter, they know how to work their looks)

NEGATIVE: I think yung self-esteem and self-confidence are mostly built from social status (gadgets, popularity-trend victim including expressions, yung mga napapanood nila sobrang na-influence yung pagpili nila ng partner at friends), they are investing more time in the materialistic aspect rather than personality/talent development

Hi, I'm turning 23 this year so obviously I'm considered as one of the "younger women" in this post haha but I really find it interesting how older people view us today, espcecially reading all the posts.

I agree with some of the positive and negative comments rin. Most of the posts here commented na we are more aggresive and liberated today in every aspects of life. I guess so. But also, I think this will really depend with the person and how her environment is. I don't consider myself as the super conservative girl in life. I like trying out new things in life and sometimes do crazy stuff and I don't consider that as negative thing since that's being myself. I think what we consider as negative thing is when we stop being ourselves and being scared of judgement. We have become more expressive and trying to be our own unique selves.

Also, I believe that the environment matters too. I used to tell my parents na "hindi na uso yung ligaw ligaw at papakilala ng boyfriend" but then ang sagot ng dad ko "bakit hindi narin ba uso yung pagmamahal at pagaalala ng parents rin ngayon?" and that's when it marked my mind na kahit siguro na minsan liberated ako if I will have a boyfriend, I will definitely introduce him to my parents. They thought me that it's okay to have fun and try to do new stuff as long as I know my responsibility and limits. They know I go out to party every weekend but I still got their trusts and they still let me do what I want since they know very well that I know my limitations and no matter what happens, anak nila ako.

Sorry kung mejo napalayo yung topic but I just thought that balancing the old conservative traits and trying out the new traits today are important for all ages of women.  :)
