So true.. For those people kasi who made their first million through hard work and savings, they realize that quality does not always mean branded things. Plus, they prioritize what is really important to them which is almost always NOT the material things in life. Most get to live by foregoing "happy times" in the "now" to enjoy it not much later but just a little bit delayed. And they just got used to that kind of thinking and living plus realizations of what really matters. I always here this a lot, "You can't put a price on good food".

Anyway, my answer: invest. I am at a point in my life wherein medyo stable and sufficient yung nakukuha ko from employment salary without sacrificing my time that I am trying to build a residual/passive income. So instead of splurging the 1M in the now, delayed gratification na lang ang gagawin ko kapag kumita na.

You cannot buy much with 1 million nowadays. Kotse palang halos kulang na. If you put it in the bank, super baba naman ng interest rate. Best is to invest it in a small business. What kind, that's what you have to figure out yourself.=)

I will put the 800,000 in a time deposit.  We will need this for our application for permanent residence in Canada. The rest of the money will be used for house construction.
