I have two boys, ages 3 and 2 year olds. We discipline them by timeout and spanking. With timeout, effective ito if they start throwing a tantrum. We put them in our room and let them cry it out there. They are not allowed to go out until they have calmed down. Also, syempre the room is safe for them at walang gamit that they can reach na pwede nila itapon o sirain. If ever meron sila masira, timeout uli. When they stopped crying, we will go to the room, talk to him and escort him out. So far, effective ito sa 3 year old ko kasi naiintindihan na niya yung concept.

We spank them rarely lang. We just usually threaten them lang with spanking together with scolding. Those times na napalo sila, we make sure na sa butt lang talaga tatamaan at nakadapa. And another rule namin is never hit/spank the kids in anger or frustration. Dapat ikaw ang adult and you should control your emotions. If you spank kasi at the heat of the moment, tendency is mapapalakas and it teaches the kid na when you're angry, you can just hit/spank to let out your anger.

Everyday is a struggle especially ngayon, my 2 year old is is that stage where he is challenging our authority and testing us if he can get away with things. The more naman nakakaintindi ang bata, mas madali na idisiplina at kausapin.

I have a 7 month old girl and right now mejo napapaisip na ko kung paanong way of discipline ang gagawin ko when she becomes a toddler. Ngayon pa lang kasi she is showing some signs na of kalikutan and kakulitan. Tapos when she wants something, grabe talaga ang iyak, with matching sigaw pa. She won't stop until you give her what she wants. Ako naman, shempre she's still a baby, so mega taranta naman ako everytime she cries out loud kasi baka may masakit sa kanya or what. Pero now pa lang it makes me think na, what if lumaki sya ng ganito pa din sha, should i always give in and give her what she wants? Ayaw ko din kasi ng namamalo. I grew up in a family where hindi gaanong namamalo, pero puro pagmumura ang inaabot ko sa dad ko whenever i did something wrong. And i don't want to do it with my daughter.

Dont worry too much normal lang yang umiiyak at sumisigaw sa age niya mas mag worry ka pag hindi niya ginagawa yun kasi its their way of communicating what they want.

Ako dati pinapalo ko yung kamay ni baby noong 1yr old sya pag may nasisira siya or may ginawa hindi maganda pero yung hindi masakit. Pero i stop doing it na kasi hindi niya naiintindihan yung palo at natututo na rin siya mamalo pag may hindi siya nagustuhan.

Ngayon sinasabi ko na lang siya ng bad and no pag nag tantrums pinapabayaan ko siya mag clam down tapos explain to her kung bakit hindi puwede at bad yun pero pag sinaway ko at nakinig pinupuri ko siya and sinasabihan ng good girl so far ok naman. Ang problema ko lang is my DH kasi pag iniyakanni baby kahit sinabi ko hindi puwede bumibibay yung asawa ko kaya ngayon pag may gusto si baby and i said no hinahanap niya daddy niya.

Isa pa way ng pag disciplineng toddler is yung "time out" papaupuin mo siya sa corner or room na tahimik lang kun ilang taon yung bata iyon din ang minutes kung gaano katagal siya naka upo, kung 3yrs old baby mo 3 minutes din siya.

Pag nag ta tantrums huwag mo siya galawin as long as the baby is safe pabayaan mo matapos yug tantrums then when his calm you talk to them in firm voice eye to eye contact.

I have a sweet 2 year old turning 3 this coming Sept, well, before I don't believe in terrible twos, pero ngayon parang nafifeel ko na siya, haha
She's super sweet pero sometimes if she didn't get what she wants, naninigaw siya and nag iispank, I stopped spanking her and face the wall, kasi feeling ko hindi na effective, unless, defiant siya talaga.

Right now, when she does something bad, I asked to to come with me inside our room (marinig lang niya yung inside na room, sorry with puppy dog eyes na siya with matching kiss) pero I can't give in, we just talk, and I have to let her now na what she did is bad, and na hindi ko itotolerate yun, medyo may konting bribe din (im ashamed of this) pero once in a while lang naman :p

So far, she copies what she sees, so I make sure na walang nag iinarte sa bahay para hindi din siya nag iinarte and so far, wala na yung tantrums  sa mall, kasi napapakiusapan na namin siya, and I make sure na pag may nipromise ako, I commit to it.

I want to discipline my daughter with love, not tolerate her bad ways, pero more of leaning into God's way. Mahirap kasi pag too late na.

I don't believe in spanking either. I have a 16 month old baby boy, and sobra din sutil minsan. what we do is to distract him with something else. i know dadating din kami sa point na mag-throw na sya ng tantrums, and hopefully, we will be able to manage better.

When should disciplining start? I have a six months old baby and nakikita ko na mejo nagiging bratty si baby may time na iiyak sya kasi gusto mag pa karga pag hindi ko kinarga mag wawala sya iiyak ng iiyak tapos pag meron iba kumuha sa kanya titingin sakin tapos mag iismile parang nang aasar tapos yayakap dun sa kumuha sa kanya

sis cerelina; I think yung sa baby mo is yung sinasabi ng mga matatandang 'nasanay sa karga'. Si baby kasi instinctively hinahanap nya yung environment ng womb, yung parang lagi syang 'cuddled', so yun pagkapanganak and laging kinakarga, hindi mawala sa sistema nya na hanapin yung feeling. I don't know if it should be called discplining, pero I think yung hindi pag-give in dun sa desire nila na makarga is good, although mahirap kasi nakakaawa pag umiiyak. It will help him get better accustomed in moving sa environment around them without much support. Madedevelop motor skills pa nya. :)
