Dermatologist Guide Thread 12 - Dermas pretending to be patients, pls STAY AWAY

question for Six F patients lalo na kay @herroyalbleakness. Paano pag nagpa TCA tapos none to only minimal lang ang peeling, pwede pa ipaulit ng free? Had my TCA few days ago kasi up to now parang walang signs of peeling. I'm anxious. Kasi nung first time ko (2nd ko na ngayon), I had the sunburnt look after pero ngayon parang wala although na reach namin yung burning sensation (nag frost pa nga daw yung skin).

Hello sisters anong kelangan preparation for a tca peel? Currently wala kong meds/treatment na nilalagay aside sa Clinique toner na sa forehead ko lang nilalagay. Right now, dami kong whiteheads plus few small pimples lang naman....Kelangan pa bang magpa facial? kase worry ko baka lalong lumala skin ko since last time na nagpafacial ako, lalo ako nagkapimples na before naman wala and makinis

And ilang weeks bago pedeng mag beach? Thanks again 

wala namang preparation, dapat lang wala kang lakad sa mga susunod na araw kasi magpepeel ka talaga ng bongga. Ipiprick din lahat ng whiteheads mo at pimples before the tca then mas ok sana if magpasalicylic peel ka na din before TCA para talagang tuyo ang pimples mo.

Thanks sis ^ actually di ok sakin yung  pricking, lalo ako nagkakapimples  anyway, anong percentage yung usual na nilalagay for first timers? And puwede bang maglagay  kahit minimal make up during the succeeding days? Di ko ata kayang mag leave ng 1 week hehe.. Sorry daming questions. Thanks sisters

Mga sis question naman, yung derma doctor ninyo ba pag nag prick ng face ninyo, may seremonyas muna, like sa mga
facial spa centers? Like yung massage muna, steam etc, bago pumunta sa actually pricking?

Kasi yung derma doctor ko dito sa amin, as in pagdating ko sa clinic niya, may ipapahid lang na nasa cotton ball, tapos
diretso pricking na. Kaya feeling ko kaya hindi smooth ang face ko after niya i-prick, kasi may mga naiiwan pa sa loob,
dahil nga hindi muna siya nag steam, so siyempre sarado ang pores?

Kapag sa facial centers kasi ako nagpupunta, smooth yung feeling after, kasi nga may seremonyas sila eh.

^ clean muna ng face using facial wash, then pahid ng glycolic (up to the burning point), then water, then prick, then TCA up to frosting point.

Hi to all! I have a question... What is your opinion about doctors who practice dermatology even though they haven't really undergone formal dermatology training?

I have been a patient of a dermatologist who is a Fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society for quite some time now. Well, before I wasn't really aware of the different derma societies here in the Philippines. One time, my derma and I talked about different dermas and some of my experiences with other dermas before I became her regular patient since nahiyang ako sa kanya. I had real bad acne and skin asthma before and she was able to treat my problem. Anyways, my derma said that it's just so unfortunate that other doctors are unethical in the sense that they practice in the field that they haven't specialized and pose themselves as "dermatologists." Most of them are internists (such as 6F), general practitioners and they have a few weeks or months of observing another dermatologist and they they say that they are "experts" in "dermatology" already. Nakakatakot lang talaga kasi I was a victim of several doctors who were like that. I even had a really bad allergy and almost died because of the medicines that this so-called derma (who is not a real derma) gave me.

So I would like to ask the opinions of the girls here. Would you go to a doctor who is not a real derma or one who has trained in real dermatology?

^My opinion? Kung pa-facial facial lang, yes I would kahit hindi talaga derma. Marami ngang centers pulos facialist lang ang gumagawa eh. Pero for more serious stuff like magpatingin ng allergy, magpatanggal ng mole, I wouldn't.

I already had my second TCA and I dunno but my skin still feels rough and the open pores are still there as ever. I dunno if the medicines are effective. I am quite sad to be honest. I am not expecting to have porcelain skin but anywhere close to that would be my ideal.

I dunno if I should go see another derma. I'm tired.
