For the sake of argument, and I feel that a woman who is more independent gets to have a say in how things are done at home, mali ba yun?  I'm sure you've heard it before and maybe even got worried at some point when you decided to stay at home.

The TS doesn't have a helper, so she has to do everything at home. The husband expected his clothes ironed, wifey reasons that she is too tired to do it, hubby got irate.  Hindi lang complete yung story pero if I were the breadwinner, I would not want to go home and have to cook my meal and iron my own clothes.  I want to go home and just rest except if both of us are working and we don't have a maid.  Sige gagalaw ako.

I'm sorry but this is just insulting, not to mention degrading. You make marriage sound like a business - not a partnership of equal rights. Basically what you're saying is that the one who makes the money calls the shots! If that is how you view marriage, I feel sad for you.  :(  Let me just remind you, the husband is the head of the family, the wife is the neck. The neck turns the head.

Marriage is a decision made by 2 people to spend their lives together for as long as they live, for richer or poorer, in good times and in bad. They are equal . Partners. They are a unit complementing each other to become whole. Just because the TS is a housewife and does not earn money, it doesn't mean that she is worthless and that her decisions should be ignored. You're probably not aware of this, but a SAHW is more tiring than someone who works 9-5 (or whatever shift) A worker has a start and end time, holiday leaves, weekend offs/ off days. A housewife's jobs never ends. Her day starts before any of her family members are awake and ends it after they are all sleep. No off day, no holiday leave, no pay. And remember, the TS has kids! A mother's job is endless.

For argument's sake,  let's say na you are the breadwinner, and your husband stays at home. And he wasn't able to iron your clothes. So you won't be happy. Imemessage mo din ba yung husband mo na "nakatanga lang naman sya buong araw sa bahay" (as in TS's case). Instead of getting irate, shouldn't it be na dapat kausapin muna ang asawa at baka may sufficient reason kung bakit hindi nagawa ang task at hand? Would it really be too much to iron your own clothes, may kamay ka naman, and minsan lang naman gagawin.

There is a reason kung bakit ang mga SAHW are housewives, kasi ayaw sila pagtrabuhin ng mga mister nila, kasi gusto sila ang magaasikaso sa family nila. Again this is a joint decision. Hindi para tratuhin silang katulong. Respecting people equally whatever your financial status in life is, tells a lot about a person.

Kaya nga in TS's case, she is being advised to look for a job, not as a means to gain respect from her husband (as this should already be a given), but as a means to support herself and her children in the future, if trouble in their family persists.
