Mai describes herself as a mother, lawyer, advocate, and wanderer. While the latter seems to be an inner calling and desire, her mother and lawyer duties keep her grounded in Cebu City.

She is a law practitioner in the field of civil law, family law, labor and corporate law, and real property  law.

Aside from law practice, Mai is involved in the advocacies of Quota International, Inc., an international service organization for the hearing-impaired, speech-impaired, and the disadvantaged women and children. She is the past president  of one of the youngest subsidiaries of Quota International, which is Quota International of Metro Cebu. It is her advocacy which led her to write regularly for Sun-Star Daily Cebu about laws on protecting women and children.

Mai is currently the President of Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (Cebu Chapter), a branch of the international organization of lady lawyers.

To cultivate her wandering spirit, Mai travels and makes it a point  not only to see the sights but also to experience the local life and culture and to enrich the mind and the spirit.

Mai finds pleasure in writing about people, places, and topics outside of the legal realm but close to her heart.
