first open the file

2nd by using the select tool carefully select the parts you want to remain coloured

3rd go to select >inverse

and then go to image>adjustments>hue and saturation

and pull the saturation slider to the left and thats it !!

maryannviray is right. Also, try using masking. Sa layer na e change mo ng color. That's one way.

i bought one book Simple Photoshop FULLY ILLUSTRATED! when i get a new version of photoshop i will read this. this summer.

i was browsing this book at nbs after i read it in this thread, and i found out that the online demos are easier to follow.

Sa iba, mas easier yung video tutorials if 'di naman gaanong na explain [textspeak!] sa word files or pdf. Why don't you check luv2help.com, baka magustuhan mo tutorials nila.

need help naman....how do i add dropshadow to images in Photoshop? I'm using CS2...but basic palang alam ko 

I need to do this...crop the appropriate parts of the image and add the drop-shadow if needed....

para san ba yung drop shadow??

Pls go to the fx icon sa layers tab (sa right side). Doon lahat ng effects. Drop shadow is creating a shadow - you could choose how dark or light your shadow is, and the angle of your shadow. Pwede itong gamitin in any shape, image or letters.

Another ways is select or highlight your layer na gusto mong gawan ng drop shadow. Right click and go to blending options. Choose na [textspeak!] yung drop shadow.

mga sis help naman po, paan po ba ginagawa [textspeak!] picture pag ipinaste sa layout e kasing kulay na siya ng layout? parang nawawala [textspeak!] background ng pic, [textspeak!] face na lang mismo ang natitira at un na lang din ang ididikit sa layout? medyo malabo po ata tanong ko, pasensiya na. kailangan ko po kasi sa invitation ng baby ko pangit kasi kapag white [textspeak!] layout ko tapos [textspeak!] paligid ng pic na gagamitin ko e blue. help po please, thanks.

overlaying layers, babaguhin mo lang yun from normal to 'overlay', nasa layers panel yun.. kapag nakaoverlay na, mas visible na yung background na pwede mong patungan ng subject image mo

Yes, magaling yung Corel Draw. Kahit e enlarge kasi, hindi pixilated kasi vector. Very powerfull tool.

grrr naiinis ako... i wanna learn how to use photoshop kaya lang sobrang nahihirapan ako big time!

pag nagbabasa ako ng tutorials di ko na fofollow step by step instruction kase di ko mahanap sa photoshop which tools to use... grrrr...

i checked naman the version same as don sa tutorial... huhuhuhuhuu..

im so clueless...

you have to learn the basic first so you can understand the tutorials... you can search basic photoshop tutorials in google...(the best search engine)

Sorry ha, hindi ko pa rin naeexplore yung Photoshop ko.  Hindi ko rin nabubuksan yung mga tutorial sites sa dami nila.  Ano pa ba pwede kong gawin sa pictures using Photoshop? Sana pwede mag post na dito nung procedure para hindi na kelangan mag-open ng new window for the tutorial site. 

here's a very simple way to edit a photo...

open photo in photoshop
press CTRL + J to duplicate the layer
change it to screen mode (to lighten it)
flatten the image
go to filter and reduce noise!

that's it! Ü

on the 2nd image, i think you need to brush up on the erase tool so the sides are smoother....
