Adobe Photoshop Tutorials and Resources

[hopeless]

I'm into Photoshop ever since I was in HS. I make wallpapers and icons.
I learned through some tutorials and experimentation. Dati I use PSP (Paint Shop Pro) because it has an easier interface but I learned that PS has more advantages.

LJ has A LOT of communities with TONS of tutorials.

ex. lumagpas yung lasso paano ka babalik dun sa previous selection

pano ba explain yun.. try ko ha..
while the lasso tool is selected, hold alt (a minus sign should appear with the lasso sign) tapos select mo yung area na lumagpas yung lasso, tapos mababawas na agad yung area na yun sa selected na area. gets mo po ba?

pag mag aadd naman ng area, instead of alt, hold shift. (a plus sign should appear with the lasso sign)

ok nakita ko na kaso mali pala yung tanong ko hindi pala "lasso tool" .. yung para sa "polygonal lasso tool" pala yung tinatanong ko.. hehe

btw i'm using PS v.8 CS

^^yes dapat close mo muna yung selection before magsubtract or add. same thing lang naman kahit na lasso, polygonal lasso or magnetic lasso.
natry mo na ba? sana nagets mo po yung explanation.

what's the major difference sa CS and CS2?

^ there's just a small difference between PS CS aand CS2.

First, there are two new tools: the red eye tool, and the spot healing tool.

Second, there's now a font preview (there's a word sample next to the font name, but it's only letters and no numbers  ).

Thanks sis! Btw, here's my first ever .gif icon: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v27/tommygurl/My%20Icons/Dramione/ani-punchwithtransslow.gif. I spent like 30 minutes in cropping, resizing, and adding effects to just that one small 100x100 icon. LOL. I used to be so obsessed on the Harry Potter fandom at LJ and icon-making is one of the most useful "job" there.

And here's a simple old cheat on how to do the airbrushed look for PS:
1. Duplicate the base.
2. Desaturate the duplicate and use Gaussian blur (filter > blur > gaussian blur) and set it in either 2 or 3 depending on how "airbrushed" you want it to look.
3. Next, duplicate (again) the base twice and set those two to the top of the desaturated/blurred duplicate.
4. Set those two duplicates to soft light.
5. Now it might look bright so adjust the topmost layer's opacity to your liking. And if the color seems to be too desaturated, you could also adjust the opacity of the desaturated/blurred layer to your liking.
6. If you want the eyes and lips to remain sharp, use the erase tool on the desaturated/blurred layer but first, fiddle around with the settings of the erase tool like, the opacity and flow.

...newbie lang sa photoshop editing...so i decided to do it horizontally, til i discover na yung distort ->shear for vertical lang pala. question, how can i make like a wave-y effect na pang horizontal so that maganda effect dun sa film border? meron bang ganun? thanks thanks
