papa-alam na asking permission or informing them? you can tell them the truth why you are moving out. or, if you want na play it safe, you can tell them na you guys are moving out kasi you want to learn to be on your own and be independent.

There's nothing wrong with moving out. Just inform them properly. I agree with the other suggestion na sabihin niyo you want to be independent. I remember when I was young, yung aunts ko hindi kasundo yung lola ko (tita nila, matandang dalagang kapatid ng lolo ko who lives with my family) so they told my mother na lilipat sila close to my aunt's workplace. My husband and I are planning to move out too because of the same reason, yung lola ko.  ;D Iba talaga ugali. Wala naman ibang pupuntahan kasi nga ayaw siya kasama ng ibang relatives namin. Mabait lang talaga sobra mom ko. Even if walang maiiwan dito sa house with her during the day when my mom and brothers are at work, hindi na talaga kaya ng husband ko makisama. I work from home so ako kasama ng lola ko madalas dito. She's 84 years old eh so kailangan ng supervision. Walang househelp na tumatagal sa amin because of her attitude. Initial plan is papagawa yung house and sa amin yung 2nd floor but my husband and I decided to just move. Long overdue na rin naman. Matatanda naman na kami. We need to have our own house. Excuse namin is yung house na plan namin bilhin is near my husband's workplace and our daughter's school.

I see, just be honest with her that you want to move out, be independent and fend for yourselves. You can give her a thank you token/gift. Para fair din naman for them na hindi rin na parang biglaan, give her enough lead time, and yes do pay for the bills pa rin habang andyan pa kayo. May mapapagkuhanan ba siya ng pambayad if you move out? Baka kasi wala, eh kawawa rin naman siya kung biglaan alis eh hindi niya alam saan kukunin yun. Since relative siya ng dad mo, baka mas ok din na itanong mo sa dad mo kung anong best way to approach her na walang magiging issue.

Hi sis  Chikadora101! The best way is to really just be honest with her. Karapatan nyo din naman yan, bilang di naman nya kayo anak so no obligation to take care of her or stay with her. And dapat lang na ma-experience nyo yung really living on your own. Marami kayo matututunan promise. Just make sure to leave in good terms. Give a thank you gift or something.

Mag-isa lang ba sya (no hubby or kids?)? If yes, reassure her na you bibisita pa din kayo. She might get lonely kasi, and iba din ang feeling ng loneliness pag tumatanda ka na. :)

If may family naman, just continue to stay in touch with her.
