VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Journalism based on gossip or rumors is a form of "terrorism" and media that stereotype entire populations or foment fear of migrants are acting destructively, Pope Francis said on Thursday.
Francis, who made his comments in an address to leaders of Italy's national journalists' guild, said reporters had to go the extra mile to seek the truth, particularly in an age of round-the-clock news coverage.
Spreading rumors is an example of "terrorism, of how you can kill a person with your tongue", he said. "This is even more true for journalists because their voice can reach everyone and this is a very powerful weapon."
In Italy, a number of newspapers are highly politicized and are regularly used to discredit those with differing political views, sometimes reporting unsubstantiated rumors about their private lives.

Is anyone here an insider of media? Can someone please enlighten us kung credible pa po ba yung mga lumalabas? Or because of upper management you need to comply to certain issues na pwde lang ilabas? Because its so easy na bias sila but ofcourse we always want to give benefit of the doubt. Baka may someone na pwde mag kwento kung ano yung course nang pagbabalita and ano yung totoo. Actually mahirap din naman walang media kasi mawawalan tayo ng information, kaso hindi lang naten alam kung ano talaga ang totoong nangyari kasi nga we feel na bias lang sila.

Korek ka sis, even yung mga speech ni president kapag ipinalabas na sa news or even sa mga radio. Alanganin ang pagkakaputol. Palaging may double meaning, kaya pati ikaw na makakarinig iyon ang papaniwalaan mo.

i don't want to sound biased but the hitler comment was too much sensationalized. people should watch the whole video and understand what our president meant in its entirety. nevertheless, he should apologize, not because he made the comparison, but because of the misunderstanding brought about by how filipino journalists reported what he said. i happened to watch the full speech while we were having our breakfast. he was asked about being compared to hitler. he actually smirked before answering and said something like hitler killed 3m jews but he will kill 3m druglords because he will kill anyone who harms his country.

i know duterte has his fault for being careless with his words. he talks to the public like he's talking to a friend. barkadahan style. but really, our nedia should be extra careful too. it boggles my mind because our journalists seem to purposely shame our president. what is wrong with them?! ito namang mga pinoy react agad. pinagkakalat ang negative issue sa buong mundo. can we start loving our country more?

Correct mga sis, sobrang pinapasama ng international media yung mga sinasabi ni Digong, although careless talaga sya, I hope maisip nya na anything he says meant man or carried away, wag nya ipaparinig sa media. I think there is actually bigger behind Delima, because the media is obviously covering up something, and this is one way to bring down the President, ang magalit ang mga tao sa kanya at magkaron ng impeachment ulit. Even Delima mentioned many times "this is not good for international image", "do you think it will change our image in the world?" Cutting ties with the USA is actually the bigger issue right now not the EJK or his mouth.

If he wants to cut ties with the USA militarily okay or he wants to have a good relations with China okay that is fine with me.

But why go as far as saying that we will not patrol the seas beyond 12 NMile limit? And why buy weapons from China who is currently trying to undermine us?

I am all for a peaceful resolution sa West Philippine Sea and welcoming more Chinese investors.

But to tottally cut off the USA and the western world and just rely on China is just a dissaster.

Kung ang mga Americano abusado at nag plunder sa bayan natin noon the Chinese will be no different.  The Chinese will just get bolder kung alam nila na wala silang ibang competition dito sa SEA.

As of now Militarily ang USA pa din ang mas malakas ang Militar sa China maski ecconomy.

Maybe in the Future na ang China na ang mas may clear chance na maging mas malakas sa USA sige puwede doon tayo gumawa ng Military ties.

But right now it is still in the best interest of the Philippines na sa USA makipag alliance no matter what you think about the USA or any other countries they have the Bigger guns and bigger market.

But right now it is still in the best interest of the Philippines na sa USA makipag alliance no matter what you think about the USA or any other countries they have the Bigger guns and bigger market.

Is it possible to have ties with both country for the sake of our own country? Do we really have to choose? Isa lang ba pwede? Nalilito at napapaisip din kasi ako. Why not choose both? Wala naman talagang "War" sa dalawang country na ito? And kapag nagchoose tayo ng isa lang, either way, wala din naman magagawa tayo sa war if ever meron man, tayo pa rin ang kawawa.

Kung magorganize man ng kudeta si trillanes as if naman makakakuha siya simpatya sa mga tao. kulang pa ang effort niya at walang maniniwala sa kanya.

Instead of criticizing the government, etong mga simbahan ang tumulong din... Magpatayo na rehab kada region at ng makatulong naman sila.  Sinubukan ba nilang lumapit sa gobyerno para tanungin at sabihin "Uy anong pwede naming itulong, total may mga pondo naman ang simbahan".

Bilyon ang kanilang investment sa mga malalaking companies eh.
