Pasali mga sis! :)

Planning to be a wahm din paglabas ni baby. Hanap muna ako ng pwede maging work na full time sa bahay. Nakapag odesk (now upwork) ako before pero masyadong maliit ang kita. I heard mas mataas na raw ang minimum ngayon. Currently working in an IT company, may work from home naman kami pero twice a week lang.

^Really inaasikaso mo yung asawa aside kay baby?  ;D Wala lang kasi I posted on the other thread na on how I was dictated na kaya nag-asawa si hubby para may mag-asikaso sa kanya at iba naging dating sa akin. Though of course no longer to elaborate since I posted it already and will leave to other thread. Well of course my point is we are helping each other. The advantage now that I am no longer living to his house is wala nang nakikialam, yet dahil lumalaki na si baby meron nang nag-aalaga while doing my work.

by the way nakapaghanap ka na ba sa upwork? Kasi may mga range naman na nakalagay and in choosing hourly rate you can demand the amount. Kahit sa lowest rate gawin mo pa rin higher to make sure na mas mataas ito sa office work mo.

Ako nga as graphic artist na no brainer pa (we have template that we are following) mas doble ang sahod compare for being GA here na binabarat parati lalo na kung layout artist ka lang naman :D Creative slave talaga ang feeling ko in working here sa Pinas, kaya frustrated ako. Mas gusto ko na magtyaga ako maghanap pa ng iba pang online jobs na at least as many clients ang pwede mong matrabaho rather than 1 office job tapos gagawa ka pa sa gabi pag-uwi mo. Other than that issue sa akin ang traffic sa Manila, expense for food and transpo.

^yes sis, yung pag aasikaso ng asawa, i mean kailangan ko pa magluto ng dinner at maghugas ng pinggan paguwi. tapos breakfast pa sa morning. pero the other day hubby and i were discussing kung paano magiging setup namin paglabas ni baby. I told him hindi ko na kakayanin yung ganon, baka naman bumigay katawan ko sa sobrang pagod. tapos ang aga ko pa gigising, have to be up by 4:30 kaya mas ok talaga sana kung makapag work ako sa bahay full time nalang.

hindi pa ako nakapag search uli sa upwork eh. yung last (and only) job ko nga dun hindi nagbigay ng rating yung client, sayang. Try ko rin humanap sa elance pala.

What are the usual jobs that can be done at home?  Let's say creative designing, how much would it normally pay to do this at home?

^Agree sis. Pinaplano pa namin since in 4 weeks pwede na ako manganak.

@crzysxycl sis suggestion lang find yaya now. Ako nahihirapan maghanap 3 months na si baby. Before sabi ng ate ko I need stay in yaya, pero since I work from home akala ko hindi ko kailangan, akala ko stay out would work pero my sister was right dapat before ako nanganak may yaya na. May stay out helper kami pero still looking for stay in yaya for a month na.

Hi WAHM here. I'm in customer service and work is regular 8-hour-shift (night shift).

Baby is 15months old. My yaya left last May and I have been taking care of my daughter which is good in a way since she's plumped up na eversince I personally feed her, pag yaya kasi if ayaw ni baby kumain, fine then don't eat. Iba talaga if us moms. But the downside of this is, I am barely able to sleep :( 4 hours of straight sleep is now a luxury.  But as long as I can keep this up, ok lang. Maybe will look for a new yaya nalang if di na talaga kaya :)

WAHM here too since September 2013 :) Nung nag umpisa ako, super duper hirap talaga kasi nasa toddler stage ang anak ko. Unlike sa toddler na kailangan ng playmate most of the time.  :P

What I do? I ask for HELP! May weekly taga laba and plantsa kami. Then the rest kami kami na.

Now that my daughter is 6, everything flows smoothly na. I can work long long long hours na, lalo na kapag nasa big school anak ko.

Cheers to WAHMs here!

Used to work long hours sa gabi pero now na he's 1 year old na hay ang hirap naghahanap talaga sya ng playtime kaya once tulog na sya sinasamantala ko mag work hanggang kaya unless antok na antok na rin ako.

Hi sis  crzysxycl! I started working from home when my daughter was around 8 months old, way back 2010. For me hindi naman naging mahirap, kasi we had a yaya na noon (still the same yaya pa rin ng daughter ko now.hehe).

Tips on starting WAHMhood - Take it slow - by that I mean don't feel 'pressured'. Baka kako kasi makakabasa ka ng malaki agad ang sweldo, or nakahanap agad ng magandang work ganyan. Reality is, it won't always be that easy, and the pay isn't always awesome. PERO mayroong mabubuting clients na maayos magpasahod via Upwork, at mahahanap mo din yung sayo in due time. :)

Kung maari, find work na flexi-time. Yung you can work based on your own schedule, para magawa mo sya pag tulog si baby or after house chores.

Specialize in something - be very good at it. Earn as much experience when you're starting out. Make it your aim na in time, mapataas ang madedemand mo na hourly rate for your jobs, para you don't have to juggle so many clients at a time (<- this can be really stressful).

...and yun, when you're starting to work na, stay focused on your priorities - bakit ka ba nagresign? Is it to be able to work from home OR is it to be able to take better care of your family, especially the little one (and then maybe earn on the side)? :) Puedeng both siempre, but you have to know and keep in mind, which one comes first for you. Nakaka-addict din kasi, more hours, more money - more fun. Pero mapapansin mo, wala ka na ginawa kundi work work at work. Like a friend of mine (and WAHM mentor) said - WORK HARD, pero much better if you WORK SMART. :)

^Hello sis! Thank you so much sa tips, note ko yan. :) Hindi pa ako nagresign sis, plano palang and still thinking kung kakayanin since marami rin parating na gastos. Currently preggy with my first child, iniisip ko kasi mas ok kung marami akong time for my baby since medyo malayo yung office ko, malaki kinakaing oras ng travel. In less than 2 weeks safe na lumabas baby ko, tignan ko rin muna how it goes. Nakapag try na ako before nung odesk pa ang upwork and true hindi madali makakuha ng client.

sa mga toddlers, akala it will be easier as they grow up. ako kasi mga 7 years na akong work from home. hassle kasi sa akin ang mag commute, anyway, my baby has a yaya now pero ako pa din mostly nag alalaga, tingin nya lang if iiyak pero habang lumalaki sya para mas madali sa amin ni hubby kasi we both work from home. kasi siguro baby is now sleeping through the night. kaya medyo hirap ako nuong newborn stage kasi walang tulog, for me kasi basta with enough sleep, I can conquer anything...kahit makulit na toddler haha

Im a single mom with no more parents and no siblings. Have one kid na naiiwan lang sa yaya while I work (thankful kay yaya na maaasahan talaga). Maybe someday talaga if medyo nabawasan na ang financial obligations.

For those still working in the office - try nyo to find and land a part-time, flexi-time job. Just to get the 'feel' of it, kung magugustuhan nyo ba sya, saka para makapag-establish na din ng experience via the platform you choose. This way, mas magkakaron kayo ng bargaining power if you do decide to fully commit na to working online. :)

i've landed a few projects sa upwork before. si hubby work from home din, although 4mos pa lang, ok naman yung work niya ngayon. i'm planning to be a WAHM soon din, hintayin ko lang yung retirement dito sa current office work ko, mga 1 year pa.

2 years old na anak ko. WAHM din ako, mahirap kasi ang kulit. Never akong nagkaroon ng yaya. Paspasan ang trabaho.LOL I start to work at 8am-2am different clients. Buti walang tracking. Time management lang. Breastfeed pa si baby up to now.

May time na gusto kong mag give up, pero kung mag gigive up ako walang mangyayari.

Wala akong both parents.
