mga sis other question po. need po ba ilagay kung kailan ang intended day of travel? may question kasi sa ds 160 na tinatanong ang travel date. mas okay po ba na sabihin ko sa self pay yung travel or sabihin ko po na yung mother in law ko? may work po dito sa php and hubby po may paupahan pero di pa registered. TIA.

 I might not be approved. I am ok if I will not pass. My friend and her American husband are sponsoring me. This is a vacation treat. They sent me money for the renewal of my passport, Visa payment etc. and they will shoulder my fare, food etc. I will stay in their house. It is only for 7 days.
The guy won a lawsuit years ago. 1M US dollars so they want to treat me. The challenge is I am only 1 year with my current company and my salary is 22k. I am a single parent. I was earning 40k in my previous work but I think it is no longer relevant. I know I will not pass based on my profile. Hehe.
 By the way I did not see the travel history and previous work experience questions in my DS-160 but I am ok. I am chillax maybe because I did not spend a single cent. hehe

^You can try to ask for invitation letter from your friend in US.

Hello, please help medyo nalito ako sa visa types nila. Ang purpose of travel is mainly for tourism lang. Kaso eto ang mga options sa US website:

Visitor Visas for Business and Pleasure
The B-1/B-2 visitor visa is for people traveling to the United States temporarily for business (B-1) or for pleasure or medical treatment (B-2). Generally, the B-1 visa is for travelers consulting with business associates, attending scientific, educational, professional or business conventions/conferences, settling an estate or negotiating contracts. The B-2 visa is for travel that is recreational in nature, including tourism, visits with friends or relatives, medical treatment and activities of a fraternal, social or service nature. Often, the B-1 and B-2 visas are combined and issued as one visa: the B-1/B-2.

B1 - VISITOR FOR BUSINESS
B1/B2 - VISITOR FOR BUSINESS AND PLEASURE
B2 - VISITOR FOR PLEASURE OR MEDICAL TREATMENT

Should I select B1/B2 or B2?

I had a B1 visa approved last year (stayed for 1 month sa US for training purposes) which is expired na ngayon. I want to apply again next year for B2 visa naman, may naka experience ba na nadeny after having an approved visa? TIA!

Hi mga sis I need your reply badly  . Nag apply kami for US VISA thru a travel agent and was schedule for an interview on Friday, January 18. Unfortunately, upon review di ko na check na nilagay ng travel agent doon sa husband ko na application doon sa have you ever been to the US? No
Then doon sa have you ever been issued a US Visa? No

Yung husband ko nag work sa luxury line year 2000 up to 2009 and naissuehan siya ng US Visa at nakapunta siya sa US kasi doon ang port nila.

My question sis pwede pa ba ito mabago? Sabi naman ng travel agent gagawa siya ng bago tama ba?
Second is hinahanapan siya ng travel agent ng old passport kung saan nandoon [textspeak!] US Visa kaso wala na yung US Visa nya since nabaha kami before and nawala [textspeak!] mga old documents such as expired passport seamans book and and visa.  Hahanapin ba yun during interview considering almost 10 yrs ago? In case need ba namin pagawa ng Affidavit of Loss? Thanks so much po sa sasagot. I will greatly appreciate it.

Hello everyone it's my first time to post I have also the same question which visa to choose for tourist visa yung B1 ba? Also, pag tinanong ng consul if may relatives ba sa US dapat immediate relatives Lang ba? Hindi na ba considered yung mga distant relatives like tita ng mama ko etc? Sana may magreply po. Salamat sa sasagot. 😊

^Hi jzsen. B1 is business visa while B2 is for personal/pleasure/tourist trips. If you're on a tour, it really doesn't matter if you have a family member/relatives/friends in the US or any other country. If questioned, it just helps the consul understand if they will help shoulder some of your trip expenses like accommodation, food or transportation. The approval still depends on your capacity and capability to travel. Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding so I'd rather tell the consul that we don't have relatives in the US tutal ako Lang magshoshoulder sa parents ko sa tour name as B2 (Thank you for correcting me about it). Tska wala kame kaclose Doon and parang 3rd degree na ang layo as a relative like we don't know them and they don't know us kasi malayong kadugo na like mga anak na ng tita ng mama ko. So para safe nalang sasabihin ko nalang na wala kame relatives sa US Tama po?

^^@jzsen, technically relatives mo pa rin sila So you can admit you have relatives in US but with a tight travel schedule you may not meet any of them at all or just outright say they're distant relatives and you don't have a plan to see them

Our interview was scheduled this morning, jan 25 ay 10:00am. We are so lucky, the consul told us that our visa were approved. We will just wait and hoping to get a "multiple" visa.

Hi sissies. Question lang. Bagong kasal ang applicant. so under maiden name pa din ang passport. Ano ba dapat ilagay sa ds160 form? Maiden name but status is married or married name na? wala pa kasi yung marriage license. Btw both hubby and wife and mag aapply. together with 3 year old son.

^Use either. If you decide to use your married name na, just request for NBI clearance with 'aka' and bring your marriage certificate (if available na) to the interview in case it is questioned.

pwedeng maitanong. if you are unable to present your marriage certificate, just let them know that it is still being processed or something. ang official document mo kase ay yung passport. so whatever yung name sa passport mo, yun dapat ang name mo sa applications, tickets or other travel documents. you can wait to travel until you renew your passport or travel now with your existing passport. either way works.

wala naman hangups ang US sa name. iba nga divorced na gamit pa rin nila name ng ex nila maski may new spouse na. ang importante consistent yung passport info mo sa travel docs mo.

Nope, they don?t ask. I never changed my surname to my husband?s so even if we travel together, walang nagtatanong sa mga visa applications why we don?t carry the same surname.

Sa Pinas lang naman makitid utak ng mga nagpo-process na pinipilit na need mo na surname same as husband. I have ranted about that in other threads sa dami ng nakakaaway ko and unwilling to address me by my legal name which is my maiden name just because I?m married ? from banks to real estate developers.

I never changed my maiden name.  I'm married.  Everytime i fill out an application form (including the time I renewed my US visa), I state that I am married.  But I use my maiden name.  Never had an issue.
