My appointment for a visa interview is tomorrow. Worry ko is yung passport ko is expiring in Sept. But I already have naman na a sched for passport renewal. May na dedeny ba because of mag eexpired na passport?

Hello! Would like to ask for your opinion.

I submitted my DS-160 today and scheduled my interview on May 2.  Sa portion that said "briefly describe your duties", nasabaw ako here and typed in my job description and definitely hindi brief yung answer ko. Now I am worried na baka madeny because of this.  I noticed din na sa DS160 form, hindi nagtanong about travel history except US, itinerary, and past work background. Tama kaya yun or did I miss something? What are the chances kaya that I get approved or denied?  Huhu I'm so worried about it.

As a background:

29 y/o
Female
Single but engaged
Purpose of travel: Honeymoon for a couple of days in LA. Will proceed to Mexico for a cruise
Employed in the same company for more than 4 years
Salary 50k per month
Savings 250k
Never had a visa
Travel history: SG, MY, HK, Macau, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan
May relatives sa US but not immediate
I'm applying solo kasi may fiance has US Visa na

Just make sure to be calm when you face the consul in the interview. Keep your answers concise and aligned with everything you indicated in the application form.

The interview went like this:
We greeted each other good morning but of course, ako nauna mag-greet.
Q: *types while looking at the monitor* What are you going to do in the US?
A: I'll have my honeymoon in LA for a few days then we'll proceed to Mexico via Carnival Splendor for a 7 night cruise
Q: Are you married already?
A: I'll get married on November 16
Q: This year?
A: Yes
Q: Does your fiance have a US visa?
A: He has but he will renew it on June
Q: Has he visited the US before?
A: Yes
Q: How many times?
A: I'm not sure, probably 4 times (I honestly don't know the answer to this, all I know is that my fiance has been to the US  a couple of times na. My fiance said now na he's been to the US mga 8 times)
Q: What is his longest stay in the US?
A: I don't know, but I have his US Visa with me. Do you want to take a look? (I offered na my fiance's visa kasi baka magtanong pa sya ng madami about my fiance's travel history sa US and wala ako maisasagot talaga about that kasi hindi ko alam haha)

-Confirmation from church regarding my wedding on Nov 16 (just in case tanungin because I declared na for honeymoon yung purpose ng travel)

I came prepared with documents but I only presented my passport and my fiance's passport. They did not even ask for the DS160 confirmation, appointment confirmation and picture even though they advised sa online application to bring these documents.

I'm just soooo happy!!! I've been so pressured to get a US visa kasi we already paid for the Carnival Splendor Cruise, sayang if hindi magagamit. The interviewer is a guy, probably mid30s. Cool naman sya, not masungit at all. I noticed na madami nade-deny, but madami din naman na-approve. I also saw sa monitor nila inside the embassy that they approved 82% of non-immigrant applications last year. So keep calm and have faith!

Hello guys! I would like to share our US visa application journey, baka makatulong din

My husband and I were interviewed earlier, our schedule is 10:00AM. While we're on our way there, sabi namin ni husband, Everything that is God's will, will happen in His timing!

We arrived in the embassy 9:30AM pero pinapasok na kami agad, they're also allowing pati yung mga naka-schedule for 10:15AM and 10:30AM that time. So proven siya na you may arrive earlier than your schedule kasi if konti lang yung applicants, they allow you na pumasok na.

Habang nasa pila kami for interview, grabe na yung kaba ko. Ang dami nagpapass-by samin na may blue slip or binabalik yung passport nila. Sa window #27 kami napunta for the interview. Babae yung consul na napuntahan namin. 3rd kami sa pila and yung 1st ininterview nung consul na-grant yung visa pero yung 2nd denied.

Here is our conversation with the consul:

C: Good morning!
Me and husband: Good morning. *smile*
C: Why do you want to go to US?
Me: My husband and I are really fond of travelling.. and I always dreamt of visiting all the Disneyland locations in the world, while my husband.. *points at husband..
H: It's my dream to watch an NBA game!
C: So which Disneyland locations have you visited?
Me: Hong Kong and Paris.
C: Okay. What's your work?
Me: I'm a Team Leader at xxx.
H: I'm an Assistant Manager for almost 5 years at xxx.
C: For how long have you been working to that company?
Me: Almost 7 years.
C: Do you have relatives in the US?
Me: I don't have.
H: I have a cousin.
C: Do you have kids?
Me: None yet.. But hopefully soon.
C: How long have you been married?
Me: 5 years and if given a visa, we are planning to spend our 6th anniversary in Orlando.
C: Okay, you're visas are approved. Please expect delivery within 7 days.
Me: Yey! Thank you.
H: Thank you, have a have a great day!

Update: I got a text from US travel docs that my passport can be claimed already, so I went to 2Go to pick it up pero tomorrow pa daw available according to 2Go.

Main applicant, my mom, 65 yr old retiree.
Secondary applicant with him:  my son, 4 yrs old.
I am with them during the interview.

Consul: Goodmorning
Me: Goodmorning!
Mom: Good morning!
C: How are you al related to one another and who are the applicants?
Me: My son
Mom: Me and my grandson
C: (Talks to me) Do you have a US VISA?
Me: Yes (I renewed it last Nov)
C: Can I see it? (Handed him the passport)
C: How long have you been n the US before?
Me: a month
Consul to Mom; What is the purpose of your trip?
Mom: I will travel the US with my aunt, daughter, and grandson
C: How long do you intend to stay in the US
Mom: 2 to 3 weeks maybe
C: What state are you visiting?
Mom: California, Texas and North Carol-- (Consul cuts her without even my mom finishing)
C: Whre are you staying?
Mom: My aunt
C: Do you have a sister in the US?
Mom: Yes
Consul typed, typed and typed. He seemed to be in a bad mood. Never smiled at us unlike others I have observed. 

I knew the results even before he said it.

Consul: Though you are applying as a family, still the VISAS are approved individually. Your son is approved while..(looks at my mom) I'm sorry but you jus have to apply some other time.


We all thanked him. (He also denied the applicant in front of us, the girl's VISA is for renewal but she never went to the US and was asked why and I never heard her answer but the consul also interrupted her while speaking)



Pffft. Oh well. The main applicant here is my mom actually. SHe is travelling with my aunt to the US. Sasama lang kami dapat.

Hmm maraming maybe's ewan ko ba. She was okay naman, not that excited pero sayang. Ililibre sana kasi sya ng Aunt nya, which is my lola. papasama sa states. Pero kasma kami. Tapos mag stay sya sa isa pang lola ko sa Texas. So 3 states puntahan nila. Yung lola ko every year nagpuunta US, countless times na.  SO isasama sana sya para may kasama sya this time kasi this time, hindi kasama asawa nya.  My mom also has a sister in the USA. She is a retired nurse/clinical instructor.

So kahit na may sister sya sa states and retired nurse sya, she is still a senior na ewan ko bakit pagiisipan pa na hindi bumalik, magkakasama naman kami sa trip. So I dunno why. So hindi na tuloy kami tutuloy ng son ko sa states, maybe some other time. Hindi naman kasi ako hot mag US masyado. magastos masyado - shopping, rent a car, and mahal pa plane tickets!  Mas trip ko ulit mag Europe kasi magkakalapit yung tour spots.

^not sure ah pero ang alam ko pwede mag reapply immediately. May friend kasi ako na nadeny ng April then nag apply ulit sya June, naapprove na. This was 3-4 years ago, not sure now kung pwede pa rin yan

^^Tama si sis simang, pwede mag reapply anytime. I might be wrong pero feeling ko yung sagot ni mom mo sa tanong kung anong gagawin sa US (and kung iba ang magbabayad ng trip nya) ang medyo nagpatagilid sa chances nya. I was denied in the past twice at ang sagot ko kasi sa tanong na yun were ihahatid ko mga pamangkin ko because their parents were already there and my sis would pay for the trip (first denial) and maga-attend ako ng conference na sagot ng company (second). I gave up on it na nga till last year when I decided to give it another shot. Ang sagot ko na lang magbabakasyon ako at ako ang magbabyad. Actually yun naman talaga ang plan ko lang gawin when I applied the first two times. Inisip lang ng sis ko na baka mas madali maapprove if someone is going to sponsor my trip, which turned out wrong.

Since retired na mom mo, medyo mabigat talaga yung assumption na hindi na sya babalik dito. She has to prove na mas matimbang yung ties nya dito than to the US.
