it's nice to know there are other brides here who also wear contacts, we can all help each other

i basically destroyed my eyes reading everywhere in the dark, in some form of transportation, lying down - all against my mama's wishes! hahaha! i was repeatedly scolded and told i would hurt my eyes - i didn't listen mine are 350 on both eyes plus astigmatism. i'm lucky i don't have to keep track of the individual contacts. my husband has been wearing contacts since he was in grade school and his eyes are 600+.

anyway, back to topic, i found that following my husband's eye care routine made it easier to wear contacts. i also used them sparingly before we met because i was just too lazy to put them on and take them off.

i noticed that some brands use thicker lenses. the contacts i was given in the philippines were very thick and uncomfortable to use, plus they made me watery-eyed. my current brand though has thin lenses and i really can't feel them once they're on.

the important thing really is to look for the brand that suits you and makes you feel comfortable. a way to do it may be to buy one pair of dailies from different brands and try them.

Ako super labo na din ng mata ko.400-400 kaya i am wearing clear soft contact lenses now(O2 Optix). Nung nagstart pa lang ako 4 years ago nagtry ako mag hazel brown contact lenses tapos mga green etc (Fresh Look) kaya lang nagsawa na din ako. Dapat be responsible pag nagcocontact lens ka. Ensure na laging may dalang solution (All solution yung ginagamit ko) para if napuwing ka or nagdadry na yung eyes e makapagpatak ka agad tapos max 8 hrs ko lang sya suot kasi naiirritate pag nagexceed na. Dapat laging may dalang glasses pang backup and laging linisin ang contacts bago ilagay sa case. Sa ref nakalagay sken para masarap sa mata pag ginagamit na.

^^ sir hermione, we have a dedicated cleaning solution (ao sept plus) and a different rinsing solution (bausch and lomb saline solution). the cleaning solution comes with a special case that reacts to the liquid and we soak our lenses in the solution overnight or at least 6 hours. we rinse our contacts and eyes with the saline solution before and after using contacts and use it as a refreshing eye cleanser while we use the contacts. we also make sure our hands are always washed with soap and water when we handle our contacts.

i think the cleaning solution is really the key and not wearing contacts for more than 8 hours like sis yannuh said. i have 2 friends who are long-term contact wearers and both of them developed eye infections from using contacts too long and sometimes even sleeping with them on.

^ sis yannuh, keeping the contacts in the fridge sounds like a good idea to keep them cool.

sis 120515, biofinity is not available locally (I guess, since I searched all optical shops in SM Megamall). I also visited Paterno Street in Quiapo but was able to ask only 1 shop and they're not carrying it.

Air Optix is available but only for the regular size (14 dia). I might try GEO brand with 15 dia. I hope it won't irritate my eyes.

done back reading and this made me aware na ang dami ko pang di nagagawa haha. my only beauty routine is to clean my face, I now do body scrub regularly, applying lotion whenever I can with prayers and diamond peel. I guess the diamond peel is not working for my underarms so consider pa rin ang laser hair removal dahil yan talaga problema ko, yung chicken skin ang hindi siya kasing puti ng arms ko. for my weight, i gave up na, i can't kasi nagkakasakit ako whenever I go on a diet so I raised my white flag on that.

For contact lens, I remembered my HMUA said he will have me wear a contact lens on my wedding day which I have never ever tried pa so I guess I have to ask him for details about the contacts and probably try it ahead of time like what sis twinxz will do. wew so much to do, so little time and budget

magastos nga yan sis! I wanted to have body peel din sa back to remove backne scars but I think not necessary naman coz my gown naman is not backless.

Continuous lang ako sis sa daily exercise ko, and I'm happy with the results. Sabi nga ni Bridehouse and ni coord, tama na daw pagpapapayat. Haha! Gusto ko lang naman yung walang bilbil look

CL naman sis, yung mga for 3 months use is around 500 lang naman. But if extended wear, yun yung pricey. Eh since for the wedding lang naman, I'll buy yung good for 3 mos use lang.

Agree sayo sis na there's so much to do, so little time and budget! hahaha!

sharing the tips of my hmua:
- contact lenses looks better in pictures. the color daw depends on your complexion, in my case he recommended amethyst. he says i should practice wearing it a few months before the wedding so i can get comfortable with it. if it doesn't work out, wag na lang pilitin.
- eyelash perming and eyebrow grooming is also needed. he doesn't recommend eyelash extensions kasi nakakanipis daw yun ng eyelash. perming will do para naka-form na siya pag kinabit yung fake lashes
- hair color is also recommended, kahit dark brown lang just to show depth. my hair is totally black kasi and it will just look like a big bun kahit ano pang arte ang gawin sa hair
- i'd also need hair extensions because my hair is super nipis and straight and mahihirapan sila kapag naka-hair up. good thing hmua has a supplier of affordable extensions

ito muna for now, ill post pag may naalala pa ko.
agree super dami pang kailangan gawin and gastusin just for one day...pero sayang naman if we don't do it for this one day.
all these preps for us while si groom just needs a haircut. unfair. lol

2 weeks before the wedding ako magpa hair color.
maybe a week before naman yung eyelash perming

sis saka for hygienic purposes, ewan ko lang if applicable sa lahat, di inaadvise ng doc yung 3 months or extended contact lenses. parang max 1 month lang daw kahit yung iba inooffer na good for 1 year. ako ok ako dun though medyo costly lang, para lang healthy pa din ang eyes

^very true sis! tiis ganda talaga. ayoko rin ng super long hair. minsan pag init na init na ako, natetempt na talaga ako magpagupit. haha

sharing my preparation for the big day:

on losing weight: i used to do insanity workout before. everyday yan. very effective. though di masyado nakakagaan pero nakakapayat naman at feeling ko firm talaga muscles ko. kaso nung april nagkasakit ako, bawal daw muna ako mapagod. kaya stop muna sa work out. for now, salad diet. di masyado effective kasi malakas pa rin ako mag 3-in-1 coffee at mag milk tea planning to go back to exercise soon.

on contact lenses: i used to wear cl when i was in college so kahit nag stop ako for how many years, wala naman masyadong adjustments ngayong nagcocontacts nako ulit para masanay na come wedding day.

on skin whitening: arms lang talaga problem ko. para sakin maputi naman ako, arms lang talaga ang di pantay. sabi sa kabilang thread effective daw ang cy pink. so go ako sa watsons at bili kagad ng 5 bars. sana effective!

on underarms: nagpa-ipl ako sa mendez so many years ago. medyo masakit sya pero after nun ilang years din walang hair. kahit tumubo ulit, manipis na lang. so ngayon as prep for the wedding, i availed skin stations 8 sessions diode laser hair removal and 5 sessions axilight. done with 3 sessions of diode, no pain at very effective. after 3 sessions, wala na talagang tumutubo, so baka sa feb na yung 4th session ko pag malapit na wedding. (4 months interval- tagal!) yung axilight, nakakaisang session pa lang ako. medyo masakit ito like ipl pero visible ang results. im planning to have the 2nd session before pre nup. then the 3 remaining before feb na.

para sa face: di naman ako masyado ma-pimple. hiyang lang siguro sa dr. kauffman. since high school yan lang sinasabon ko sa face ko at makinis naman talaga ang effect. for now, eye bags lang problem ko sa face kasi lagi ako puyat for the past few weeks. hehe

^yes sis. axilight laser whitening. it is similar to ipl. kung kay diode you can slightly feel na may tumutusok, kay axilight parang pumipitik. doctor talaga ang gumawa sakin. medyo masakit sya. may kaba effect nung magstart pa lang. pero tolerable naman sis. sa case ko, yung first few days akala ko walang effect kasi siguro parang namumula pa. pero a week after nag lighten talaga. i used peeling solution kasi dati kaya may portion na uneven. so yun ang target na mapantay yung lightness ng skin. every 2 weeks interval daw. so pwedeng axilight this week. then after 2 weeks ulit. then after 2 weeks diode naman. after 2 weeks axi ulit. ganun sis.

2nd sesh ko palang last month for the ipl i saw the immediate effect agad. kaya lang i had to stop and cancel the 3rd sesh kase we found out na im pregnant. hehe. so resume na lang next year.

^yung kasama sa package is 5 sessions lang eh. i think okay na yun. pero yung last 3 sessions, january ko na iaavail. mas effective siguro sis kung sunud-sunod talaga yung 5 sessions. sa diode naman, after 2 sessions, nagstop na kagad hair growth eh. siguro dahil nagpa ipl nako dating dati pa kaya manipis na lang din hair ngayon. kaya lang ako nag 3rd session para sa pre nup. then december na siguro ulit next then feb na. so may 4 vouchers pako ng diode kahit tapos na wedding

^same with my sister. She had IPL already before. So 2 sessions lang siya with diode she never needed to go back. But just keep your vouchers because those dont expire daw kahit 2 years from now ka pa numalik doon for diode maintenance.
