^it is. Yung bonggang foodcourt dito sa tin, parang canteen lang sa SG ang mga yun kasi yung mabibili mong food sa mga yun parang pang resto na dito sa tin. Never ate briyani before but nasi lemak is ok, katumbas kasi yan ng tapsilog dito sa tin dahil may kasamang egg and chicken at wag ka, may pipino pa.

may natikman ako oyster omelette sa chinatown sg sarap! naghanap ako dito sa pinas meron sa binondo forgot ko name ng resto. mas masarap pa din natikman ko sa sg.

naku! iba ang "Chinese" oyster omelette sa Binondo kasi they put the ingredient they use in tikoy kaya iba ang lasa and texture! nakatikim na ko nun. ulk! i hate it! i have yet to find a Singaporean resto here in Pinas that serves oyster omelette similar to the ones in SG's hawker centers.

i saw a supposedly-Singaporean resto in Shang named Sentosa pero "Thai oyster omelette" ang nasa menu. weird. di ko pa na-try.

@17glut, any recommended hawker center where i can get some good roasted duck noodles? i might go on another business trip to SG later this year. foodtrip again!!

may nabasa ako na mura ang g-shock (baby-g) sa SG. di ko lang maalala kung saan. where to buy po ba authentic g-shock (baby-g) watches sa sg?

@meimei, any hawker/kopitiam has them. Pare-pareho lang naman kasi style ng preparation at lasa nyan islandwide. Here's a pic para madali mo makita yan:

@binggay better buy in sg para mas ok ang rates, pag dito ka sa pinas kukuha medyo mababa ng husto ang palitan, lugi ka lang. So para safe, papalit ka na dito pa lang sa pinas para pang pocket money mo by the time you arrive (pambayad sa taxi, pangkain, etc) and the rest when you arrive na in SG.

@mizzybebs although wala ako marecommend na specific shop, mag ikot ikot ka sa mga mall until you spot a store that sells watches. They might be able to help you out. In general, wala naman kasi problema sa goods, karamihan naman sa mga yan authentic - medyo magkaka issue ka lang sa seller kasi minsan makukulit mga yan.

Hello Guys.

Pahelp naman. I will be in SG on May 6-9 with Hubby. Pero will explore the city alone ng May 7-8 kasi ito yung time na nasa training husband ko so ako lang magisa ang magiikot.

San ba pinaka ok mag shopping, yung mas makakamura talaga? Is it Changi City Point or IMM? Yung H&M ba may outlet ba sa SG? May H&M din naman dito sa Pinas, I am not sure baka mas mura pa rin kasi jan sa SG.
Plan ko bilhin talaga mga shoes and clothes for kids. saka para samin narin ni Hubs. And kung may ma-suggest kayong store na mura ang make up like YSL, lancome.

I-meet din namin yugn friend namin sa SG, he will treat us daw ng dinner, any suggestion saan po masarap ang food and maganda ang ambiance?

^ for the food i suggest you try Mykonos on the Bay at Quayside Isle in Sentosa Cove, they serve authentic greek cuisine, healthy na masarap pa. Maganda rin ambiance away from the city so relaxing.

@istine0618 don't expect too much sa outlet mall ng SG unlike sa ibang country na malaki talaga outlet mall at marami brands. Sa changi city pt daanan mo na lang kapag pabalik na kayo airport, 1 station away lang from airport. Goodbuys: shoes (nike,adidas,crocs)

Sa IMM naman take bus no. 105 from far east plaza (orchard) around 45mins nasa IMM ka na or sa green line baba ka sa jurong east, medyo malayo nga lang lalakarin pero try ma na din umikot sa Jems (jurong), new mall sa area na yan. Goodbuys: desigual, furla (medyo mahal coach bags nila pero try mo din check)

@arances ganun ba sis? expecting too much pa naman ako sa outlet store sa SG... haha. since 3rd time ko na kasi sa SG ang plano ko lang talaga is to look for bargain items. kaya tinatarget ko talaga yung mga malls na mura.

thank you sa suggestions sis. we will stay sa grand mercure roxy na raw. mas lalo lumayo sa city. hehe. but i will definitely take your suggestion na sa huli na lang yung changi city point. tutal sa last day naman namin 5pm pa yung flight namin.

no idea ako sa pricing nyan pero give and take baka halos pantay lang siguro, depende siguro sa model. Tsaka ang kagandahan sa SG, when you're out looking for bnew type of stuff, halos pare-pareho lang ang pricing islandwide, magkakatalo lang sa stock availability. The latest an item is, the more expensive it becomes and harder to come by, gets? You can search in google for those watches na naka-base in SG para may idea ka at mahanda mo na budget mo for it.

Compared sa mga money exchange dito sa pinas, mas ok pa rin sa SG magpapalit. Medyo lamang ng konti pag nagpapalit ka sa SG. Besides, kung maliit na value lang ok na yan kahit san ka magpapalit, pero pag malakihan like 2000SGD (60K+ Php) then dun mo mararamdaman yung hinayang sa exchange rate.

What you can do is partial muna ang papalit mo to SGD dito pa lang sa pinas para pambayad mo sa taxi or mrt when you arrive tapos pangkain na rin then pagdating mo dun sa SG saka mo ipapalit yung iba. Pero syempre dapat mag iwan ka pa rin ng peso just in case.

i suggest sa airport na kayo papalit like 50-100 sgd lang papalitan nyo. then buy the mrt card sa airport and go to lucky plaza for better rates. mag check kayo ng rates muna minsan kasi mas mataas sa nakapost ang ibibigay nila na rates. depends also how much papalit niyo

last week sale sa IMM ang coach 30% off on top off the discounted price pa. yung slim wallets and wristlets na usually 79sgd (discounted price already) naging 55sgd pa

How much is an average meal in SG? Family trip kami, so definitely no fine dining, but baka di rin pwede sa turo-turo kasi I have kids and a baby. Mga tipong mall-based resto na kung sa atin eh tipong Hap Chan, Dencio's, Barrio Fiesta, Max's .... you get the gist. Pag ganitong tipo, nasa magkano per head kaya ang meal? I am trying to budget how much cash to bring.

Hotel is paid for already, and includes bfast for all. Theme park tickets, malaysia-legoland transfers, lahat online ko na bibilhin. So I need just enough for lunch-dinner for 4 days (good for 5 adults, 2 kids) plus cab fare to get around. I am also planning to use credit card as much as possible sa mga resto para di na ako compute ng compute ng exchange rate. 

Would 1000 SGD be too much in this case? Ayoko kasi ng bibili ako dito ng SGD tapos ang daming sobra after tapos ipapapalit ko ulit sa peso. Lugi na ako nun kasi mas mababa ang buying kesa sa selling.

Are money changers easy to find in SG?

^Sis, budget mo nlang na SGD100 (per family) per meal nyo sa isang restaurant with waiter.  Basta hindi mamahalin like Din tai Fung, Thai Express, Soup Restaurant and Ajisen ramen.  As the more expensive restaurants may cost you more.

The likes of Yoshinoya, nasa SD10 per meal per person.  I suggest kung nakakain kayo sa Dencio's and Hap Chan, you can eat anywhere in Singapore na may waiter.  Just ask for the menu before your take your seats.  Hindi inclusive ang service charge and GST kaya take that into consideration when you compute for the total bill.

What's best with Singapore is that you don't need to dine at expensive restaurants to get the freshest, best meal.  Kahit mga food courts masarap ang pagkain at very low prices.  But sometimes, most especially when you're out of the country, its best to splurge a little para hindi naman nasayang ang pasyal nyo.  Travelling is all about immersing into the culture of the country so hindi recommended ang mag tipid para lang sa mga pagkain na matitikman naman dito sa pinas. 

The best money changers are located in Lucky Plaza, Chinatown and Bugis area.  I suggest if you have pesos or USD to exchange for SGD50 or SGD100 muna sa airport for pamasahe sa MRT and bus, then once you have your maliit na SGD, punta na kayo sa chinatown to have the rest exchanged.

^^para walang gulo mag mcdo na lang kaya kayo? easy to find at uncommon din ang servings nila, plus, makakatsamba ka pa ng pinoy na staff  more than enough na 1000SGD for all of you, enjoy pa mga bata di ba? yun nga lang, walang spaghetti at playground para sa mga bata. 

1k SGD for food budget is more than enough kasi nga family kayo lalo pa't 4 days ang buong pasyal nyo. Remember, its for lunch and dinner ng apat na araw na yan. It might sound an overkill pero maigi nang you have more than enough for all of you. Yung sobra pwede pantaxi na lang or pambili ng items before you depart SG.

I am dying to try the hawker centers, actually. Pero iniisip ko kasi mga bata and parents ko, baka mahirapan kasi I read it can get very crowded, plus since bihira naman mag out of the country magkakasama, tama ka sis xtine, ok na rin na di naman masyado tipid basta relax.

I could probably live on McDo but my parents have "dietary requirements" so ideally I should find a resto where they have choices na fish, or something steamed or grilled. I have no issues eating in mall food courts as well, basta aircon kasi kawawa naman mga kasama ko.

^if that's the case, your most practical option are those KOPITIAMS. Most malls have them and they are  basically the standard food courts of SG similar to the ones we got in SM's. Very cheap at madaming mapagpipilian tapos syempre airconditioned pa. You can easily get a meal for a group of 4 for just less than 50SGD. Yes those places can get very, very crowded pero during peak hours lang syempre like lunch, uwian, etc.

Just be careful when picking your meals, yung iba kasi only looks tasty pero wala pa lang lasa. Meron naman akala mo malasa pero saksakan pala ng anghang. Also, if you're lucky, you might actually stumble upon a pinoy food stall in some branches of kopitiams
