Just finished watching the first episode of Jane the Virgin, a new show on CW based on a Venezuelan soap opera called Juana La Virgen. (Also airing on Philippine cable (Sony Channel) every Sunday)

I REALLY love it! The story is so good, the acting is fantastic, and ang fresh lang ng take niya!

but yeah, i love it! it gives me that ugly betty vibe that i sorely miss on TV these days since puro young adult or supernatural na ang theme ng TV shows on The CW lately. favorite ko si xiomara. that lady has character and aliw yung mga hirits niya. i am definitely looking forward to the second episode.

Ang ganda ni Xiomara! And nagulat ako sa twist about Jane's father.

Their family is interesting, and you're right, very Ugly Betty ang feel niya.

They have been picked up for a full season na! Wohoo! After only two episodes. Good job to the cast. I love how they're very involved on social media these days... kahit yung writers. Ramdam mo talaga yung they try to connect with their fans.

That said, Xiomara still remains to be my favorite character. Nakakatawa na nakaka-touch yung story behind sa "Milkshake" song number niya.

Can't wait 'till Jane knows how she's connected to Rogelio. Isa pa yang family ni Rafael... ang gulo! Hehe.

super funny! at, totoo, nakakatouch yung ginawa ng mom ni Jane dun sa milkshake song. tapos, nung naguusap si lola at Jane about sa decision ng mom nya to keep the baby but the lola insisted na ipa-abort. may awww moments. ano kayang secret netong jowa ni Jane?

Yes, nakaka-touch yung reason for performing the milkshake song.

This series is funny and heartwarming at the same time. Naiyak ako when they were getting a sonogram.

Ang galing umarte ni Gina Rodriguez (Jane). And I love the soundtrack of this show!

Watched ep 3 last night. Ang dami kong tawa. Nakak-GV talaga ang show na ito. And ang daming twists and turns, never a dull moment (so far).

For me, it's better pa than Ugly Betty.

Jane's parents are a RIOT! Sa kanila talaga yung comedic part ng show. Although Jane herself is quirky rin dahil sa mga hirit niya.

I'm really loving this show. Yung parents nga pinakanakakatawa. I'm not getting an Ugly Betty vibe all that much--medyo mas Americanized kasi ang Ugly Betty. This one parang telenovela na like Mindy said on the other thread, may Pushing Daisies feel.
