How long have you been dating before engagement?

started planning 6 months into the relationship, officially engaged at 9 months, will get married at 18 months

Was 4.5 years when we got engaged, will be 5 years in October.   Got civilly married 20th of June this year, and will be married in the Catholic church next year, a few months short of our 6th year anniversary as BF/GF.

FIVE YEARS. Akala ko di na darating. Lol. Nauna pa namin pinlano yung bahay. As in one year before getting engaged, nagstart na kami magdownpayment. Akala ko magiging forever live-in partner ako, na hindi bet ng pamilya ko haha.

Turning 9th Year this end of the month. And we're getting married next year December on our 11th year First Met Anniversary. Yay!

Pa kwento lang mga sis!

Anyone here mga sis na nasa stage of planning of their wedding na but there's no proper proposal yet like us? As in nag-usap, nagkasundo, nag decide na "pakasal na tayo next year?" ganun lang. hehe! But everytime na dadaan kami sa mga jewelry stores, he kept on looking and asking me kung ano gusto kong engagement ring. Kasi lagi nyang sinasabi na: "we should buy wedding ring na kahit next year pa wedding natin, but yung engagement ring, ako ng bahala dun syempre." Tatatwa nalang ako then sasagutin ko nalang si bf ng "surprise me." hahaha! Isn't awkward and obvious na nag pa-plan na nga kami ng wedding then one day before our planned date tatanungin nya ako ng "will you marry me?" HAHAHA!

He was courting me for 1 year. We were a couple 1 1/2 year then he proposed. We'll be officially on our 3rd year sa wedding day

On our 1st "monthsary", he "unofficially" proposed and gave me a promise ring.
Many months passed by and until now "unofficially" engaged parin kami pero April 2015 nagbayad na sya sa reservation fee sa church at talagang nagaasikaso siya ng suppliers. Weird ano, para kaming mga teenager.
He's planning pa daw for the "official" engagement before the year ends, whatever he means by that, hahaha.

6 months din kami, We both said it's crazy too but it felt so right XD I was almost engaged to my ex and not once did I feel right with him until I met my fiance

^sis ANJFinally...sa akin sis nag-uusap na rin kami sa kasal way before naging engaged. actually hindi ko na iniisip if magkakaron pa ng ring. baka madisappoint lang ako, hehe...minsan i joked about it, sabi nya lang wag mo ako pangunahan....ayun..di ko na inulit. tapos sinurprise na [textspeak!] nya ako

i think nito na [textspeak!] naman parang nagiging norm na sya...but actually di naman required.  para sa akin, kumbaga bonus na [textspeak!] din. ang mahalaga naman is both decided na to take the marriage road.

Actually, there are times na napapaisip din ako na nakaka-inggit naman yung iba, kasi kami, hindi kami dumaan sa masasabi nating process before getting married. But yung point palang na sinabi nya sakin na ako yung gusto nya pakasama was really far more than enough. Minsan ramdam ko naman na mag po-propose sya (SANA) HAHA! Kasi he kept on mentioning na sya daw bibili ng engagement ring ko, sya daw bahala dun.

Syempre ako as a girl, at some point in our relationship gusto ko rin ma feel yung magkaroon ng proposal. Yap, parang bonus nalang. Basta tanungin nya lang ako with engagement ring. Kahit alam nya namang YES ang sagot dahil we're in the middle of wedding preps na. Hahaha!

With my late husband:

- talked about marriage plans 1 month pa lang kami.
- got engaged after our 1 year anniversary
- got married after 3 1/2 years together. Long engagement kami eh.

With my bf now:
- talked about marriage plans 1 month pa lang ulit
- reserved the church after our second monthsary. so unofficially "engaged" na kami.
- will get married 18 months after.

I agree with you. I didnt feel right like you were sort of pushing and forcing it lang but with my current one, everythings at peace and to think we are in a long distance relationship pa

Hi sis. Malay mo isurprise ka na lang nya. hehe. Just to share, my ex bf(now husband)and I started our long distance relationship in 2010. We were both based overseas and we would visit each other about 2-3x a year.  Anyways, about mga late 2013 pa lang when both of us started talking about marriage. There were times when I thought he was going to propose but he didn't. Hanggang sa dumating yung December of last year, na we were going home to meet each other's family for the first time. I already knew that his mother has a ring na she wants to give me, but I never knew na he would do a surprise proposal sa Boracay when we had our holiday with both families included. hehe. Kasi akala ko dun nila gagawin sa Tagaytay during the actual pamamanhikan. Yung tipong wala ng surprise, walang kyeme. Kaya shempre yung time na yun, natouch naman ako. hehe.
Malay mo sis, ganun din gawin ng bf mo. If not naman, magjoke ka na lang kunwari hehe.

^Hi sis! Nice story naman with your hubs. Hehe! Actually, bf and I will be celebrating our 9th Anniv this end of the month na. We're both here in UAE, actually kaya kami napunta dito because sa Pinas palang we had plans na on getting married once we finished our contracts here abroad. Actually, yung mga friends namin here ang sobrang malakas magparinig and mang-alaska about the proposal since ang tagal na namin. Me kasi, i don't want him to feel na nape-pressure sya, though he should have feel it also since we're 28 na. HAHA!

Then pagpasok ng 2015, bigla nalang namin napag-usapan na "magpakasal na tayo next year" HAHA! As simple as that. Then we started saving for our wedding and now we're in the middle of wedding preps na, but no proper engagement yet. HAHA! Whenever we roam around here looking for our possible wedding ring, he kept on saying na "yung engagement ring, ako ng bahala dun" so syempre from the inside kinikilig narin ako, I will simply answer him back ng "surprise me" HAHA! I am really hoping that one day he'll propose kahit alam nya na 100% YES ang makukuha nyang answer. HAHA!

Dont you worry sis! May plan si bf mo, wag mo lang sya madaliin hihi. Would you believe na ang dapat sanang araw na magtatanong lang kami ng church rates ni Paco Park e yung mismong araw pala na magpopropose si fiance? Technically, medyo nauna nga yung wedding preps/plans haha!
