^ sis, have you tried power pumping? Baka pwede din yun everytime you pump.. kahit once a week at least na power pumping day.. then drink water (1-2 glasses) before and after pumping..

Ano yung power pumping sis?

I drank right after giving birth. Nag milk naman ako agad because i kept on latching my son. Actually kahit uminom ka pa ng isang truck ng malungggay capsules if baby wont latch, you wont produce much.

@vain_kixie, i agree. kahit walang supplements ang milk ko agos parin, literally. kapag hindi ko napa-latch si baby in 3 hours engorged na ang isang boobs ko, hehe. i'm not taking any malunggay supplement nor eating masabaw foods. talagang malakas lang dumede anak ko and i feed on demand. basta gusto. nagiging pacifier na nya ako most of the time but that's ok. basta gusto :)

^ if you can, attend a Breastfeeding seminar with your husband or kung sino mang part ng magiging support group mo sa bahay. Iba din when you hear experts (lactation consultants) talk about it. And you may ask questions din.

Important din sa breastfeeding journey ang mind-conditioning. Believe you can breastfeed. Believe you have milk. Para di ka mag-give up agad when it gets painful/uncomfortable (like when naging sore ang nips, baby's cluster-feeding, etc). And read up while waiting for due date. Learn from other people's experience. :)

^ i agree. i thought i was prepared for it and i have the right mindset na until I experienced cluster feeding and growth spurts. This made me give up ebf-ing if it wasn't for my pedia who is a strong breastfeeding advocate talaga. I went to her clinic and had my baby checked bakit oras oras ang dede nya and I told her hindi ko na kaya and I want i-mixfeed si baby. i ended up going home without a formula milk because she wouldn't give me a prescription and she's convincing me to just keep on trying and hindi forever ito. true enough, done na yata si baby sa unang growth spurt nya and she sleeps long hours naman ngayon at night. ako ang hindi makatulog kasi i keep on waiting na ibreastfeed sya hehe! namimiss ko sya. parang ganun. i'm thankful pedia didn't prescribe formula milk. instead, she strengthened the will to keep on ebf-ing si baby.

Sisses, advice naman how to increase milk supply. I am exclusively breastfeeding my lo for almost 5 mos now (back to work and pumping, nursing at night and weekends). The problem is pag weekdays di ko kaya ma-sustain ang milk needs nya, ang konti ng napo-produce ko na milk during office hours. What i pump today is just enough for her to consume the next day. Wala masyado excess. No problem kami pag weekends kasi direct latch. Goal ko talaga to ebf sya until 6 months man lang sana and hopefully extend to a year.

^^ sis, do you also pump pag weekends? Or you can try power pumping (it's like simulating a growth spurt or cluster feeding, so mas nakakastimulate ng milk production).

My baby is almost 9mos and nabawasan bm consumption nya once she started solids..

^ oo sis, nagpapump ako pag weekend pero mga 0.5- 1oz na lang ang nakukuha ko after feeding her kasi nasasaid na nya. pag gabi din i pump before i go to sleep tas pump ulit sa morning before going to work. oo nga eh, gusto ko sana masagad yung 6months na goal ko na ebf, tas breastmilk parin hanggang magwean sya kasi ayoko pa mag-stop, as long as my milk, go. iniisip ko pa lang kasi na magstop at sasakit ang boobs, waaaa parang di ko kaya hehe

@hun_nie08 thanks actually gusto ko yung lactation massage mismo. I already had experience in breastfeeding so more on stimulating ang hanap ko this time. I will be giving birth in 2months time. So if meron kayo magsuggest lactation consultant and massage in las pinas. please recommend. Thanks so much!
