Mga sis ask ko kayo, is it our responsibility to book the hotel for the guests na manggagaling sa malayo? Reservations? Shuttle?  ;)

For our guests who traveled all the way from other countries, what I did was to arrange their hotel accommodation (they paid for their rooms) where we're staying for preps and provided their transportation. However, I paid for 1-night stay of my friend who came from Canada as my way of saying thank you for all the effort.

For my dad's balikbayan siblings who stayed for a few weeks, aside from the hotel arrangement and transportation, we also lent them our condo unit so they won't have to pay for hotel accommodation for such a long duration. For those who came from the province, we just provided a van that they can use for the wedding day. :)

Do you invite the spouse of your married co workers? Even if you have not meet them before?

sis fave17, proper etiquette states that spouses of guests should be invited as well. bf/gf's are optional naman. pero sa panahon ngayon, mas may freedom na ang couples pagdating sa ganyan lalo na if your biggest concern is budget. if hindi talaga kaya ng budget na masama yung spouses, then try to explain in a polite but rational manner. kase may iba naman lalo na pag officemates, kahit hindi kasama yung mga asawa nila basta isang group sila na magkakakilala sa table ok na sa kanila. pero syempre, it's important to note na mas mataas ang chances na umattend sila if their spouses are invited. :)

we strictly limited our guestlist to 150pax pero ang dumating on the day was 78% lang. nung una kong napansin na may empty seats during reception parang na-sad ako ng sandali pero dedma na lang kase ibig sabihin nun more food for the guests. hehe
and for the best part, di na kami gumastos ng extra for food para sa suppliers kase nakakain sila lahat sa buffet. :)

We did because of etiquette but also because we invited those we work with on a regular basis and those who help us greatly in our career successes.

Pero kung madami sila at di mo close lahat, then explain about the budget situation. They should understand. Make sure lang they are aware of who else is going at magkasama sila sa table kasi kung magisa yun lagi concern.

Hi fave17, i did not invite any of my coworkers since they are based overseas, but colleagues (closest friends from previous job there in manila) we invited them including their partners (hubbies, fiancé, or kahit bf pa lang) basta close namin yung friend kahit di namin kilala ang partner that well, for courtesy lang. I can testify na hindi talaga sila pupunta ng walang kasama at effective if may kausap sila all throughout coz they stay and wait til the program finishes. May mga guests na nag rsvp din na di dadating on the day (very true and it happens all the time) at very good fillers sa mga nang-iindian na guests ang mga partners ng friends para di mukhang empty ang tables. :)

Yan kasi ang problema minsan kapag nagcoconflict ang etiquette and for being practical. If I am on that situation then I would do that too kapag officemates lalo na kung madami pa kayo na huwag na lang isama ang spouse. In the first place you just want your officemates o yung mga taong nakikita mo araw araw na maging witness na event niyo. 2nd hindi niyo naman kasi kilala yung asawa nila, then ito na nga yun eh! sa relatives niyo marami rin hindi naimbitahan due to budget issue. Dapat naman maging understood ito sa difference ng officemates and relatives or friends. Kasi sa relatives siempre kapag married sila automatic pati asawa relatives niyo unlike officemates literally wala pa rin kayong connection to them kahit sa friends.

^Reservation seat is to limit your guest lang, it is up to you if you want free seating or make seat plan for it.

yung wordings ba na "We have reserved _seat(s) in your honor" pede gamitin.
Literal ba yun na meaning na me nakareserve ng seat sa kanila as in may table no./seat plan sila na i expect?

maybe I'll go for no seating plan na lang para less hassle sakin. 😁
salamat 😊👍

@marjin - I didn't invite.my former colleagues, only my closest friends lang. Even sa family yung close family lang talaga. My mum nga and I are already having disagreements about this kasi ultimo yung mga kamag anak nila na hindi ko,naman nakita or narinig kailangan iinvote bit I have to put.my foot down because we are only having 150 guests. Nakakatulong din na out of town ang wedding namin hehe

hello, fellow brides! I need an advice.
Do you guys invite person that you don't want to be in your wedding day but out of courtesy mapipilitan ka iinvite? They are colleagues na di mo naman kaclose at feeling mo ehh mangookray lang naman. Eh since one unit lang kame at invited [textspeak!] iba mapipilitan ka invite sila. how do you deal with it? me and h2b don't want them to be a part of our big day. however common denominator namen is colleagues. hoping that they wont show nalang ;D ;D

To be honest ito yung naging malaking problema ko last year. Nag-usap na nga kami ni hubby na kapag dumating yung relative na ayaw ko on that day na hindi naman invited then we won't be going on the reception. Well ang plano run is ako lang wala pero hubby told me na siya rin and including the celebrant which is our baby. My mom will never listen to my explanation so kapag nakipag argue pa ako nakaka stress lang lalo. She forced me to give invitation to that relative pero I never did that. The fact na you gave them invitation it is literally understood na you still want to entertain them. I kept silent about my plans regarding inviting people. Successful naman na I never gave invitation yet they weren't present during the celebration. There are other people asked my mom why they were not invited even my brother. My mom just answered them na she doesn't have any idea why. By the way they are relatives of my Dad not to my mom. I think the reason why my mom is forcing me para hindi magka issue to my Dad. Although I think my Dad has an idea already that I am not in good terms with that relative. Kasi after celebration he is asking why there are some people not invited kahit yung kalaro ng mga pamangkin ko. Although nakakagulat at nakakapagtaka kung bakit hindi niya tinanong sa akin yung mismong relatives niya na we used to invite during our celebration.

Kaya to answer your question your wedding naman is not foundation day na kailangan ng attendance ng ibang tao kahit hindi mo feel. Just project it na you have an objective kung bakit iilan lang ang invited.

^In my opinion, since two lang naman sila, I think invite mo nalang din. Para di kayo ma-awkwardan after. And kung wala naman pala kayong issue with them talaga e. 2 lang naman kasi, di naman malaking impact yun sa overall wedding :) Plus kung talagang di naman pala close, they might decline din naman nga  :D

^^Do you have issues with those 2 people? I just hope na hindi sila nega people. Regarding sa kung talagang ayaw mong imbitahin just make sure na kailangan mong panindigan na kung bakit mo ayaw. Be ready of course with the issues.

No questions ask about it. Na mention ko na ito sa ibang thread eh! na kapag nataon nag organize akong wedding, first cousins on my father side would not be invited at all and I can reason it out. Regardless kung ano magiging issue. Inimbita ko nga for the sake na walang issue pero in the end ako naman ang masasaktan. I don't care if others would think of it as selfish pero sawa na rin ako sa plastikan system na yan. This is the reason why I cannot see the sense.

I decided not to invite one member of our hs barkada.  Only because super nega sha during my wedding planning and hubby and I didn't want that kind of stress.  Well she assumed that she was invited pero we never gave her any invitation. Everytime na may get together kami she would say in front of everyone that she's not sure that she can come to our wedding at paiba iba ang reason nya why she can't attend.  So when she said it again sa group chat namin, I messaged her directly and told her that I actually allocated her seats to somebody else because I assumed she couldn't make it to our wedding.  And that's that.  No further explanation needed.

And eto lang sis, if you decide to invite your nega colleagues, you wouldn't even notice them kase ang mararamdaman mo lang that day is yung love and excitement ng mga tao who are really there to celebrate with you and hubby-to-be.  The nega opinions of your colleagues wouldn't matter at all. :)

Hi mga sis, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this question.

How early kayo nagsabi sa mga Principal Sponsors nyo na kukunin nyo sila as ninong/ninang?

TIA! :)

Yung isang PS ko kasi is ninong ninang ko nung binyag ko pa, so as soon as fixed na yung date namin at  may church at reception na, nagsabi na ako sa kanila. Pero sa kanila palang yun. Yung other ninong ninang namin di pa namin sinasabihan :) We were thinking 6mos before wedding tsaka namin sasabihan, then dadala na din ng tela sa kanila for their gown/suit :)

@pogi02: I told my ninongs/ninangs more than a year in advance. We wanted to make sure they have ample time to prepare (since some live abroad), and also, to make sure they would save the date in their calendar :)  As long as you're sure who you want to get, there's no harm in telling them early, i think!
