yun nga palang cat ko nasusuklay ko siya kapag tulog na tulog using flea comb, or baka malagyan mo siya ng powder sa ganung oras kung wala ka pang makitang frontline. sa experience ko di sila nagigising kapag naka aircon kami.  yung cat kasi dito lagi ko siya tinitignan for fleas kasi lumalabas siya.

It's been 3 weeks since my sister and I rescued a stray kitten. The cat looks happy and healthy now. So heartwarming/fulfilling because cat is super malambing. Medyo nag adjust nga lang kami because this is the first time we ever took care of a cat. Mas sanay kasi kami sa dogs. Anyway, we're bringing cat to the vet this weekend. (Wala pa siyang name because we're not sure yet kung girl or boy siya.) Papa deworm na muna, so we'll need a stool sample. Next na siguro yung spay/neuter pag laki niya konti.

Thinking of switching brands ng kitty litter. I am currently using coco crumble because it's cheap and organic. Ok lang naman sa cat but I do not like it because parang wala siyang odor control properties. Brown din siya so hard to tell kung nasan yung poo to scoop out. Can't decide what brand to try next. Daming brands to choose from at Pet Express.. mostly more expensive than coco crumble pero mas mura than the kitty litters na binebenta sa Bow and Wow. I am still getting used to cleaning a litter box. Ibang level talaga ang poopoo ng cat :/

Ano kayang toy ang maganda bilin for starters? Feeling ko bored na bored na si kitty because eat/sleep lang siya all day. Scratch pole? Toy mouse? Kong ball? Takot ako dun sa may feather na fishing rod kasi baka malunok niya yung feather. Also, have you tried giving your cat a bath? Gusto ko siya sanayin habang bata pa.

^I get my kitty litter supply at S&R. The 42-lb Scoop Away sells for 900+ while the 30-lb Litter Purrfect sells for 600+. Both are clumping and has deodorizers so the poop and pee don't smell too bad.

As for toys, suggest ko lang don't buy muna. Try to make do with simple stuff like crumpled paper na papahabol mo or string tied to a stick. Basta anything that will mimic a prey to a cat. When we started taking care of cats we bought them a lot of toys and gadgets. Every time we come home from the states halos laman ng maleta puro cat toys. Ngek! Sayang lang kasi either sawa sila agad or totally hindi nila pinapansin. Mas type nila yung paper at string sa stick. I think the only toy na di nila pinagsawaan is the laser light.

Re baths, cats are self cleaning. You don't have to give them baths unless super baho or fleas infected sila na you need to use medicated shampoo. Otherwise a warm damp towel to wipe them down is fine. Our cats siguro in a year once or twice lang napaliguan minsan hindi pa. They don't smell basta lagi Lang malinis yung surroundings nila especially their litter boxes. Though we make sure we brush them regularly to avoid excessive hair balls.

Scratching post is ok kaysa mapagdiskitahan nila ang sofa mo. LOL My cats are more into boxes and paper bags.  Some of them enjoy the laser pointer pero lahat talaga sila fave ang paper bags, esp if there's a hole in it. I even have 1 cat that loves chopsticks. LOL

I know cats are self-cleaning. Pero if napansin kong medyo madaming fleas na (honestly, the powder isn't effective), pinapaliguan ko.

Agree with the sofa. First time ko mag alaga ng pusa. Yun sofa namin tsaka mga maleta puro himulmol na. Hahaha..

Paano niyo pinapaliguan yun pusa? Sa akin ilalapit ko pa lang sa tubig war mode na siya agad. Puro kalmot na ako

I have 3 cats sa tinitirhan ko, isang puspin at 2 siamese.  Lahat sila napapaliguan weekly . What we do is, magiinit muna ng tubig, tapos isa isa namin sila papaliguan sa bathroom, ikukulong sila don.  Inuuna namin yung puspin kasi sya pinakamabilis matuyo saka pinakamahirap paliguan ahaha. While bathing them my music kami pinapatugtog na calming and relaxing.  Tapos may warm water sa isang basin, i-wwash lang yung body ng pusa, from neck to tail. Iwasan lang buhusan ng biglaan, kasi lalo matatakot. Huling iwwash yung head saka neck, pero gentle na hilamos lang. Yung face mismo nila kahit i-dab lang ng onti kung may dumi. After bath, babalutin ng towel, patutuyuin ng onti tapos ilalagay muna sa cage para dun sila magtuyo ng sarili nila.  Pag dry na dry na sila saka palalabasin ng cage. Wala kasi ko blowdryer e, plano ko rin bumili.  Mas ok din bigyan daw sila ng snack treat after bath.

We've never used flea powder on our cats since our vet said hindi talaga effective plus hindi din maganda kung accidentally masinghot or ingest ng cats. We used to apply Revolution then Frontline since I can get it cheaper in the states. The drops we apply once a year lang then spray as needed both on the cats' nape and the places where they often stay. If I remember correctly, once lang kami nag-spray for booster after sa drops nila last year. Thankfully wala kaming problem with fleas. Buti na lang since I have 19 cats (18 indoor and 1 outdoor). Ang gastos din ha!

Hays, most ng Frontline na nakikita ko ay for dogs. 

Re our way on bathing them, a bit similar to encizey without music nga lang. Kulong din sa CR. In my case, if I think super infested ng fleas, hinahayaan ko munang may sabon sya for  5 minutes. While waiting, I talk to my cat (mostly nag-aapologize ako for giving them a bath  ). True wag na masyado basain ang ulo, minsan I use wet wipes na lang. Baka ma-terrorize. Make sure na di malamig ang water and prepare a towel beforehand.

Oohh.. gayahin ko kayo mga sis. Yun pusa ko color white lately parang gray ang kulay kasi kung saan saan sumusuot pero nalilinis naman niya sarili niya.

I bought Catsan kitty litter and I'm excited for my cat to try it. Haven't had the chance to go to SnR to buy Scoop Away and Litter Purrfect (as recommended by mama squeak!) My membership card is expired na kasi. I'm still experimenting which litter I like best. Gusto ko yung may pinaka pleasant na cleaning experience. I hope hindi manibago yung cat kahit palit palit kami ng brands. Has anyone here tried crystal or silica kitty litter?

our siberian-siamese mixbreed kitten is losing hair.  as in napapanot na sya pero wala naman sya fleas.  vet said try muna daw lagyan ng virgin coconut oil. di ko pa nagagawa, i just want to ask muna from others na may similar experience.

tried the silica crystals.. ok din naman pero mas ok for me clumping sand like catsan, dun na ko nag stick.. nawweirduhan ako sa silica eh, saka mas madikit sya sa paws at balahibo so mas nagkakalat

sis, try mo rin OUR CAT, meron siyang scented and unscented. Iyong powder scent masarap sa ilong, kapag may ihi then tatabunan umaamoy ang powder. Silica gel na dudurog siya sa wiwi eh, mas mahirap na ma scoop out
