^Haha I can super relate. I tend to really cram my itinerary because I want to maximize each trip. So this time around that I am planning my honeymoon, I am having a difficult time trying to resist the temptation to add more places. I have to remind myself it is a honeymoon wherein we should have blank days on the itinerary where we can sleep all morning and just go for a swim and drink all day haha.

Exactly! Hay naku, since I last posted here I've stopped planning muna. I think I was getting too crazy about it. I will take a step back and refocus again :) hahaha! But I've been toying the idea of this itinerary:

Paris - 5 nights
Lyon - 3 nights (or Dijon?) We looooove food :)
Marseille - 3 nights (or Avignon or Aix-en-Provence or Arles?)
Nice - 3 nights
Milan - 3 nights
Venice - 2 nights
Florence - 3 nights
Rome - 3 nights

What do you girls think? :)

My friends and I are planning our dream Eurotrip for Sept or Oct 2017. Considering the huge amount of money we need to save for our travel fund (and our other expenses), we're starting to save as early as now (our target is 200k each). Do you think this is feasible, i.e., travelling for 2-3 weeks in 5 countries with that amount of money? I want sana mga 150k lang.  ;D

We are still thinking about which countries we want to visit but the non-negotiables are The Netherlands, France and Italy. We're considering Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain.

@luckypal, if it's food you'll never go wrong with Lyon! It's the food capital of France (some say the world pa nga haha!). Hubby and I loved our Lyon trip (haven't gotten to writing a blog post about it yet). Three nights there will be just right, easy-easy lang. You can visit the France thread for more tips on the  French leg of your tour.

@beachpatrol, sis I know I posted some expense breakdown in earlier threads (France, European Tour, Amsterdam, etc threads). Maybe you can search or back read the other threads. Might help you na rin with tips in your upcoming trip. Good luck!

^woohoo :) thanks, mama squeak! Ok, I will definitely keep that in the itinerary then. If I don't go to Spain, I think I will do Carcassonne, Toulouse and the more western parts of France on my next trip. I should totally read your blog if you have your Europe trips there :)

Hubby and I love to eat, drinking wine not so much because we have a very low tolerance for alcohol lol  ;D

whhhaaaaaa I am so heartbroken. This hotel I was eyeing in Santorini called Andronis was on sale yesterday. I was about to book their classic suite but thought about deciding overnight. Now the room is a whopping 800 Euros more expensive from yesterday's price. From 1700 Euros to 2500 Euros for 5 nights!! I want to cry. That resort would have been perfect for our honeymoon.

^I really really hope so =( =( Sayang I should have booked it na. Because thats just the same price we would pay for a mid-range hotel... ah Andronis is one of the best luxury hotels in Oia. It sounded too good to be true and I should have grabbed it! O well.. Praying they put it on promo.

@shegie_285: Thanks for that info sis, I'll keep that in mind. Good to know na okay naman pala kahit less than 2 hours lang ang connecting flight, kaya naman. Oo nga eh, medyo magulo nga sa Turkey ngayon.

@beachpatrol: I spent $5,000 in 2011 (3 weeks, Amsterdam-Cologne-Venice-Florence-Rome-Paris) and $4,675 in 2013 (4 weeks, Prague-Athens-Santorini-Barcelona-Madrid-Granada-Seville-Lisbon) - including airfare and some shopping. Details of the planning, countries & cities, and expenses are in my blog. Yung 2013 trip ko, hindi ganun ka-okay yung itinerary kasi hindi tabi-tabi yung cities in the first part of the trip (wag tularan!).

Php 150K is very doable naman if you are willing to backpack (stay in dorms) and eat pizza and sandwiches lang - and minimal eating in restaurant. IMO, since madami kayo (and if first time nyo lahat), you'll want to hit everything in one go...which is just not possible. So you guys can start researching and determine which sights are non-negotiable. Use cities, not countries, in choosing your route. E.g. Italy is huge and you can easily spend 3 weeks there alone. May mga "duplicates" din eh, like Athens is similar to Rome - parehong ruins, albeit different ruins.

Iba-iba din cost of living in each city: A bed in a hostel in Venice is EUR 40 (basic) while a bed in a hostel in Prague is only EUR 22 (very nice studio-type dorm).

IMHO, it would be good to discuss the budget openly with the group. Kasi, you may have different styles of travelling. Baka some are used to comfort and some are not. Baka may willing to cook but some would like to eat out.

Also, ascertain that you will all be committed to take leaves for this trip (hahaha, may hugot daw ako!). Pwede kasing some are vying for promotion at work at di pwede mag-absent, some plan to get married or get pregnant. Ayown. But it is good na ang saving horizon nyo starts now - almost 2 years din ako nag-ipon for my first trip.

Enjoy planning!  :)

@melodymedley Thank you for the tips! Super appreciate it!

My friends and I have been traveling overseas together for 7 years so we know each other very well. We're budget travelers so walang arte-arte  ;D I asked a friend who went backpacking, kaya naman daw yung 150k, naka 5 countries din siya.

This is so exciting kahit matagal pa ang dream trip!

Mga sis, question, we got our visas na, on the travel reservation we submitted, departure is March 28 from Manila, arrival in Amsterdam on March 29. The start of the visa date is March 29. Wala naman problema doon di ba? As long as we arrive in Europe on the 29th. I asked the lady in the embassy kanina, wala naman daw kaso yun, as long as you are in Europe on the date of your visa validity. May nabasa kasi ako sa tripadvisor na may airline na hindi pinayagan silang lumipad dahil one day earlier sila ng visa date nila. May experience ba kayo about this?

One more question, what does it mean if "this flight has one stop in Taipei"? May nakasulat kasi na ganoon sa KLM.

Super thank you sa mga sasagot hehe :)

^Hello!! No problem with your visa!! It is the norm that your visa is valid on the day you arrive.

With regard to KLM, yes there is a 1 hour stopover in Taipei. Actually ang hassle nya talaga. But this isn't a problem if Amsterdam is your final destination. It is a hassle if from Amsterdam you have another connecting flight, because parang 2 stopovers before you get to your final destination.

BTW in case you will be getting a connecting flight from Amsterdam, you have to already go through Immigration in Amsterdam. Just a heads up because I know someone who almost missed her connecting flight hehe kasi mabagal sila and didn't know may immigration na eh 1.5 hrs lang stopover nila.

icegayle: I am thinking about going to Berlin too this October. Can you kindly share what things you plan to do there?

I heard it is a nice place, but I am still on the fence about going there since we normally enjoy smaller, historical cities. But the most logical thing for us is to catch a flight to Iceland from Berlin. Any tips? Thanks!

^ Sis, we booked our tickets online like Berlin Welcome Card Museum Island, Berlin Walk ( Concentration camp and Infamous Third Reich Sites), SEA LIFE + Madame Tussauds + Berlin Dungeon. Then since we have welcome card we can get discounts from other attractions that we have to decide depends on the time availability.

thanks @chili1113! our final stop is budapest from amsterdam, so you mean we need to go through immigration in amsterdam pa? Hindi siya diretso to the boarding gate ng papuntang budapest? Wahhhh 1 hr and 55 mins lang ang stopover sa amsterdam huhuhu.

^Yes! =) We took KLM last Oct going to Lisbon. We had to go through immigration in Amsterdam not in Lisbon. Don't worry 2 hours is enough time naman =) Just be sure to line up right away and look for your connecting flight boarding gate immediately after.

icegayle: Thank you for the tips!! =) I will definitely look into all that. Also looking into day trips from Belin =)
