Headed to BKK on the 31st of Jan and staying till 04 Feb. Bummer if 5days nothing much to do so I'm hoping the security situation eases up. Especially Sakto sa elections yung trip namin. Planned on taking my kids to dreamworld n baiyoke but depends on the turn of events. The rest of the tourist attractions I've done already with the hubby before and my kids won't be interested in them yet, like the temples and kanchanaburi etc.

question mga sisters:

May limit ba sa number of persons sa taxi?
arriving at midnight kasi kami
4 adults with hand carry luggages only
pwede ba kami na one (1) taxi lang from airport to city?

^ yung normal metered taxi nila is similar to our taxis dito sa Manila. Kasya ang 4 adults, but I'm not sure yung luggage nyo, unless kandungin yung ibang stuff. The compartment can fit 2 siguro, max 3 carry-on maletas. If di kasya or you want more pleasant ride, i suggest either get 2 taxis, or check out the airport taxis from the AOT (tourism) counter. Reasonable na din naman ang rate nila, and me pwede pagpilian what type of vehicle.

sabi mo nga if we can carry our stuff at kandungin , its ok...

^ sa pagkakaalam ko, wala naman. But yun nga, four adults with luggage in one taxi may be an uncomfortable and cramped ride from the airport to your hotel.

Just got back from Bangkok earlier today. All is well while we were there but i heard sa news ngayon, State of emergency na alert level 3. Dineclare na state of emergency yesterday palang pero nakaikot padin naman kami, just don't know the situation today... Ingat girls!

i wanna go back here again ng may maayos na IT, kasi 3-4 days notice lang last punta ko saka may tamad ako na bf na kasama hirap ayain.. may rally na din nung nagpunta kami, altho sakto din bday ng king nila, mejo pacified ang paligid last dec hehe

5J 932 Bangkok – Manila (February 9-23 and March 3 – 15, 2014)

Guests on these flights will be re-accommodated in the next available flights, or they may avail any of the following options:

• Free rebooking of flight within 30 days from original departure date;
• Reroute to the nearest alternate airport; or
• Request for a full travel fund or full refund

Just got back from the Land of Smiles yesterday. Spent CNY there with my husband, who had a flight duty there for 5 days, and my two older kids. We were anxious about the news reports regarding safety and security but when we got there, it was perfectly fine. Just isolated in certain areas, most probably. Alam nyo naman media, pag pinanood mo, parang world war na agad.

Since it was a leisurely-paced trip with kids, I scheduled a trip to visit the Baiyoke Sky observation deck last Saturday. We took a cab from our hotel in Bangkapi to the tower. No crowds even on a weekend. Cost us THB250.

We also booked the same driver for our Dreamworld trip the following day. THB500 per way but we added na lang sa return trip cos he was very polite n nice and to think he had to travel back from the city to pick us up at the theme park. Better deal than the ones offered by the other flight crew at THB1500 (although whole day naman kasi yun, no plans of taking the kids to Jatujak and the elephants!)

Third day was laundry, kumon and malling day. Haha. The crew hotel was nice, not fancy, but had complete amenities and facilities. A kitchen and washing machine in the room, and pool, sauna, steam bath and fitness center in the premises.

Yesterday, there was thick smog when we were approaching the airport. Speedy checkin. We were happy we were given premium lane passes by the check in agents which allowed us to enter the restricted x-ray and passport control area for aircrew, official/diplomats and the like.

Total nightmare when we arrived in MNL and were met by the sea of people at the arrival immigrations area in hot, hot T2. Good thing the leftmost booth was exclusively for PHL passport holders and was shorter. By the time the kids and I were processed, my husband already got our luggage.

Safe trips to all! Here's to the next voyage! See you USA again in April naman. Can't wait for the change in weather!

which area in Bangkok would you highly recommend to stay? I prefer a hotel. how's the political situation there now? my friend and I are visiting on april 24-28.

^ if you prefer a nice hotel, I recommend Siam Kempinski. Sa likod lang sya ng Siam Paragon mall. Short walk to Central World. Short train ride or pwede din lakad going to MBK walkable din to Platinum Mall/Pratunam area. Nearest BTS station is Siam Paragon lang so very convenient din for commute around BKK. I like their breakfast buffet din.

A cheaper option na medyo nice din, for me, would be Holiday Inn in Chitlom, katabi ng Intercon Hotel. Malapit lang sa Erawan, Amarin, Central World and Gaysorn malls. Paglabas ng hotel, me BTS station na.

hello sisses. ask ko lang kung nasa lumpini park pa rin ba yung casino bus 99 going to aran or nilipat muna yung mga buses sonewhere else since nabasa ko na may protesters daw sa lumpini park. and 200 baht pa rin ba ang pamasahe? thanks in advance sa sagot.

i am not sure sis. pero nung kami sumaka kami sa north bus terminal. wala kaming prior reservations, pag dating naman namin dun sakto may bus to aran.

@annamarie88-you're the crew member or your bf? Cabin crew or flt deck? Heck, baka we know each other!    Yes, the 5 day stay is for Friday departures out of MNL. I just happened to have tagged along on the last 5 day flt stint before scheduling removed it na. Natatimingan ko lagi cos the last 4 day Incheon flt duty, I tagged along too before nawala na yung ganung flt sked. Oops, OT na. Nice to catch you here on FN.

I probably won't be visiting BKK again anytime soon as I don't like it there that much, even if I've visited several times. I just love how cheap things (services, I'm not much of a shopper. I'm more of a foodie. )  are there.  Oh, and this season brings me back to my previous visit to BKK, where I was treated to a stay at The Peninsula, with Rolls-Royce transfers and the V-Day dinner cruise. THAT I wouldn't mind doing again.

another question here, we will arrive in Bangkok at 11:50pm, where can we go and kill time? can we go straight to our hotel and stay in their lobby even if we're booked for the next day? or stay in the airport and wait til sunrise?

Based on experience, hindi worth it na matulog ka sa airport. mura lang sa BKK kaya if I were to do my trip again, I'll book 1 day earlier pa. Or ask the hotel if you can stay at the lobby. D kami nakatulog ng friend ko sa airport...ang ingay at may group of 20 Indians pa na tumabi samin. @___@

^ yes sis Cebu pac kami. my friend booked that trip kasi it was on sale daw... yeah, we'll ask the hotel na lang... is it safe to take the cab during midnight?
