Credit Card as payment for Booking

Called the airline. We submitted my brother-in-law's picture of credit card and another valid ID card with attached confirmation letter that he was the one who purchased the tix online. The staff here in PH acknowledged it and gave us his number and office in NAIA 1 in case of emergency. Thank you!

I have the same situation when i purchased online but used my uncle's cc card via korean air. Going to San Francisco.  I called their hotline so many times and the only solution, let my uncle go to their ticketing office and verify that he did purchase my tickets. After that, I called their hotline and i'm good to go. Possible daw kase na pag hindi na verify, kahit i do have photocopy of cc or authorization letter, if not verified, hindi daw papasukin. That's what the korean air agent told me when I asked them. Hassle lang talaga sa part ng tito ko. But on the other hand, mura yung nakuha ko na ticket.

Medyo hassle talaga yan sis I agree. Kahit kame noon hirap na hirap din kame mag explain bakit nangyayari yan. Pero more on pre-cautionary measure kase yan to ensure na authorized talaga ng cardholder yung pag purchase ng ticket.  Madami kase issue ng security saka identity theft dun.

Normal ba talaga na tignan sa check in yung credit card na ginamit sa pagbook? Eto yung sabi ng Cathay Pacific sa amin. Eh ang problema nasa ibang bansa yung gagamit ng ticket at wala sa kanya yung card.

^Hi sis, kelangan ba yung physical cc? Sa PAL kasi photocopy ng harap lang card e. Singaporeair naman, need magfill out ng letter of indemnity (not too sure sa term, basta parang authorization) ng cc holder, parang ganito din sa jetstar. Tigerair parang photocopy din yata. Or ask mo kung pwede magshow up na lang yung cc holder sa manila office ng cathay para maconfirm na authorized yung pag gamit ng cc to book.

i had a problem booking tickets using my cc on a mobile phone. sale period kasi that time so madalas mabusy sa website ng cebpac so i used my mobile app. nainput ko na details ng cc ko then nung icoconfirm ko na nagerror daw kasi wala na yung seats. when i rebooked just around 3 minutes lang, nainput ko na ulit cc details ko then nagerror ulit for the same reason. for the 2nd time, naggiveup na ako. tapos mga after 20mins or less i received confirmation sa email ko na i booked two sets of tickets daw. huhuhu. hinayaan ko nalang kasi around 2k lang yun, so bali i paid 4k. tsk.

Oo sis bratty physical card kailangan.
Cash na lang bayad sa ibang bansa kasi urgent wala na oras punta sa Manila office.
Para sa airline na ito, expect ko kasi di ganon kahirap mag book😡

Sis pretty pwede mo naman tawagan agad para cancel nila yung isa. Pag may error lagi ko pinapatingin bago mag book ulit.

^Marami na kasing cases of fraud kaya mahigpit talaga ang CX. May I know where you bought the ticket, online or via their ticket office? Kasi kung ticket office, walang problema since physically nakita ng ticketing agent yung ginamit na credit card. Kung online naman, you can always call the CX ticket office and tell them the situation.

Hindi gumana online kasi gusto nila yung payment mode galing sa country of origin (kung san departure). Meron silang parang paypal sa bansa na yun na hindi naman nagana mga 2 araw ko sinubukan yun.

Tumawag din ako wala naman sila naitulong kasi nga sira talaga yung site connection at pag phone booking, kailangan pa rin ipakita ang physical card sa office nila. Urgent flight eh so walang oras.

Sana lang may mga ibang pwedeng pagpilian na paraan given today's technology.
Sa ibang online transaction naexperience ko na may verification din silang ginawa at di kinailangan physical card ipakita.

Gets ko naman kailangan yan para sa security pero kumpara kasi sa ibang airline, parang mas gugustuhin ko magbook sa iba kasi hassle-free.
Kung hindi lang Cathay ang nirequest, kukuha talaga ako sa iba.

^how unfortunate for you but that is strange na hindi gumana ang online system (unless system maintenance). I've bought tickets for my sister in the states using my cc on CX (SFO/MNL and ORD/MNL RT) but I never had any problems naman. And yes with CX need talaga makita yung physical card na ginamit sa bayad either at the check-in counter or at the nearest ticketing office.

Though with other airlines that I have bought tickets for my family, I always give them a copy of my cc plus an authorization letter to show at the check-in counter just in case hanapin. So far hindi pa naman sila hinahanapan. Hindi lang siguro mahigpit yung mga airlines na yun.

Onga eh. Nacheck ko na up naman yung mga sites (Cathay at sa CC payment) pero yung connection nila sa isa't isa may problema.

Tinanong ko na din yan sis sabi di daw pwede ang copy at letter. Physical card talaga need nila.

At least ngayon alam ko na mas pang leisure trips ang Cathay pero alanganin sa urgent trips.
