Hi mga sis.. I will be in SG on september.

First night, i'll be solo. And this is my first ooc. Ask ko lang, safe ba magstay sa geylang area since it is the Red Light District?

I am not really sure pa sa itinerary ko. San ba ako magstart haha. How big is Singapore ba?

entwife, safe naman sa Geylang in a sense na hindi naman holdaper area iyon. Kung meron man mga lasing na nagsusuntukan, baka isolated incident lang iyon. Meron lang 2-3 streets doon kung saan nakatayo ang mga 'girls' kung saan nag aabang sila ng benta. Other parts of Geylang ay ok naman. Marami din masarap na kainan doon.

Generally maliit ang Singapore. Siguro as big as Metro Manila. Or baka smaller pa. I'd suggest tingin ka sa google ng mga 'Things to Do in Singapore' para from there meron ka idea sa mga places of interest mo. Try to search about Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands area.

I have read na very efficient at kaya naman inavigate at user friendly naman mga transpo systems ng singapore.

Basically, I'll be meeting someone jan sa SG. Nakita ko kasi sa mga hotel na hindi dorm type, maraming mura sa Geylang.

By the way, hindi ako fan ng malls. I think USS and Sentosa would be part of my itinerary and maybe sights and culture na lang yung iba.

^My problem with Geylang is the comfort of commuting here in SG.  SG has a very very efficient transportation system that if you live far from the MRT station, you won't be able to enjoy the efficiency in travel time and the travel cost as well.  It will be more cheaper if you won't transfer bus - MRT or vice versa.  Nakamura nga sa accommodation, but the comfort of travelling as well as cutting your travel time will have an impact sa time management mo.  I highly suggest Bugis or Chinatown.  Since you are on vacation, why not make your stay more enjoyable and stress free.  Chinatown is already the tourist spot.  Geylang on the other hand is outside the city, which will really require you to walk towards the Bus station to get (and wait) for the bus going to the MRT then MRT to the place you want.

Paano po pumunta from Singapore Chinatown area to JB Sentral? How long po yung byahe? Meron na kaming overnight train ticket to KL from JB Sentral departing at 11PM. So mga what time po ba kami dapat umalis ng SG? Thanks=)

I saw Yes Chinatown Pt. Hotel Standard Double Room with Shower at 2200 php. I think okay na yun, unless you have a different idea about the place/ hotel.

Sis, ano pala ibig sabihin pag southern singapore? Does this mean somewhere near Sentosa?

mom_c, fan ba kayo ng Legoland and/or Hello Kitty?  may kasama ba kayong bata?  kung wala naman, kaya nyo na pagkasyahin ang Legoland at HK Town in one day.  maliit lang naman sila pareho.  sa HK town, baka nga mga 2hrs pede na.  di nyo naman siguro na pupuntahan Little Big Club kasi sobrang pambata yon.
it's also ok to stay na lang in SG if you are going to Legoland.  yung mga matitinong hotels in JB are in JB Central. mga 1hr travel pa yata un to Legoland.  may madaling transpo naman kasi from SG flyer to Legoland.

Then it is the CBD area.  This is where the southern ridges, sentosa, vivocity, Tanjong pagar (port area) is located).  Yes.  It is the "southern" busy area of Singapore.  You may also look at Henderson wave.  For me, this is almost the high "peak" of singapore.  Henderson wave is the highest bridge here in Singapore.  It boasts wonderful view of Keppel Bay.  This is ideal if you are on a long term (5 days or more) stay in Singapore.  As view lang sha, nothing to offer unless you like to take a stroll at their park.

Southern area daw kasi nakatira yung friend ko, which I'm not so sure if makikita ko. So, I would still like to make an itinerary on my own, but then close enough para if ever na may time to meet, madali na lang.

So far I want to see Chinatown, Little India, Arab Street, Holland Village, Universal Studios, Sentosa and of course the Merlion. haha

I have 4 full days to explore SG.

how far is changi point from fairmont hotel? or sentosa to changi point? gusto ko kasing maki gulo sa charles and keith..

re: gothere.sg, does this work only with internet connection? how about if i'm mobile then i want to get directions from gothere, may offline download ba to that will take me from point A to point B? or dapat naka online ako talaga?

^I suggest sis to prepare itinerary along with the directions with bus number, MRT stations para you don't need internet.  Gothere.sg works same as streetdirectory.com.  Pero I doubt they will work without internet.

Both are located in Chinatown. Eto na kasi yung pinakamura kong nakita na private rooms eh

^Parang ideal ang location as both are in Chinatown's food street which is Smith St.  Parang mas maganda yung lulu hotel.  I haven't stayed in both, so maybe just choose whichever has highest votes in trip advisor.

Mga sis ask ko lang, how much ba yung prepaid na sim jan? Kailangan ko kasi ng net connection pangcontact sa friends ko while in SG. Basically, yun lang ang purpose ko. Imimeet ko kasi yung friend ko from SG pag dating ko, then susunduin ko naman yung 2 friends ko sa airport pag dating nila.

Bili pa kaya ako ng sim or maraming wifi areas jan?

Ano ba yung pinakamurang sim sis?

i downloaded na gothere..i have seen there that the directions it gives depends on the time you posted the inquiry...medyo nag OC kasi ako kagabi, at around 2am,  i tried making our itinerary with directions na, and there were places na sinasabi sa gothere na hindi daw sya makahanap ng transpo at 2 am kaya ni lead nya lang ako sa 6:30 trip.. nge..medyo nalito ako..i don't know naman the exact time we will be taking the  transpo once we're there na in SG..time dependent ba ang transpo system nila dun sis? what time ba nagbabago?

^Sis dandoloup.  What I do with gothere is I put yung time the following day.    For instance, its already 2AM, doon sa time, put 9:30AM or 5:00PM para makita mo yung talagang bus na sasakyan mo pag regular day.  Kasi pare pareho naman ang bus na sasakyan mo pag daytime.  Good luck.

sis dandoloup, i think gothere.sg uses the projected interval of the buses in their timing to give the user the fastest route.  iba-iba kasi interval ng buses dito depende sa oras. if you are not sure of the time, just take note na lang of the routes na ibibgay nya sa yo.
ganon din sa taxi route/fare na ibibigay nya sa yo. ico-consider nya kung peak or off peak or kung may surcharge ba yung area mo.
walang offline mode ang gothere.sg.  so you will need internet to get the routes.
