We're having a baby boy soon and everyone is suggesting Alden ang ipangalan since Alfie + Denisse ang names namin ni Hubby. But not now baka sabihin Aldub ang inspiration ng name hehe.
So we are naming LO, Darien (gift) Abia (God is my Father)

Hahaha! My mom keeps callin the lil bean in my tummy 'Alden'. Sabi ko, "Ma naman!"

^haha, ako naman Melody ang tawag ko sa baby sa loob ng tummy ko. Tapos my mama nicknamed her (her talaga) "Munding". ganun kasi family namin, mahilig gumawa ng nicknames. Anyway, 4months pregnant pa lang ako. di pa alam ang gender. Di ko alam kung saan ko nakuha yung Melody. basta yun na ang tinawag ko sa kanya.

First baby namin ito. pero andami kong listahan ng names kasi yung first pregnancy ko, naterminate due to blighted ovum. Second try na namin for our first child.

Di pa ako makadecide kung foreign name o Filipino sounding name. Nung mabasa ko tong thread na ito, napaisip ako. Kasi parang better nga kung Filipino name. Filipino word kasi ang surname ng husband ko. Parang better kung Filipino like:

or kung boy:

minsan naman parang gusto ko rin mga names na galing sa legal profession:

Juris Amelie (Juris -"law", Amelie galing sa French movie na favorite ko)

Amicus (friend) + another name
Prudence

Minsan naman parang gusto ko yung halaw sa mga paborito kong tao, libro o character sa movie

Frida Amelie (Frida from Frida Kahlo and Amelie from the French movie)
Fiona Amelie (Fiona from one of my favorite singers Fiona Apple)
Carl Sagan (as in Carl Sagan)

Gusto ko rin yung mga ibang Latin/Spanish names na di masyadong ginagamit:

Vera Luna
Stella Clara (bright star)
Vera Jamaica

yung husband ko naman, gusto niya yung normal lang na names. yung regular lang kasi baka daw ikahiya ng bata paglaki...pero ako gusto ko yung naiiba yung name niya para madali siya matandaan ng mga tao.

hAy. in 4 weeks pa yung ultrasound ko para malaman yung gender...

Ang daming names ah! I only have a few choices and the names are pretty short because I suffered having to write down a very long and complicated name & correct documents later (when I became an adult) as I made shortcuts to my name.

9 weeks pa before namin malaman ang gender. i have a 6 y/o boy na, so we are praying for a pinkie this time. my son was named after my [textspeak!] & hubby (meaning 3rd gen. sya) but this time we will name the baby after my dad. i am thinking of Andie since my dad is Andres. What else can you girls recommend? For both gender. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

23 weeks pregnant here. Twice na ko nagpa ultrasound pero di pa makita gender kasi palagi tulog si baby o kaya naman tinatago nya hehe. Anyway may name na kami if ever boy or girl.

Di pa ako makadecide kung foreign name o Filipino sounding name. Nung mabasa ko tong thread na ito, napaisip ako. Kasi parang better nga kung Filipino name. Filipino word kasi ang surname ng husband ko. Parang better kung Filipino like:

Hi sis! yan din ang initially namin ni hubby kaso para kasing di bagay sa surname.. Spanish sound kasi ang mga surnames namin pareho ni hubby kaya parang di bagay. pero so far eto mga naisip ko:
For Girl: Amaya, Crystala or Tala
For Boy: Datu

We already abandoned the idea. I am now 23weeks pregnant and nakapag-ultrasound na din. sabi ng doctor, baby is 80-90% baby girl (ayaw pa i-commit talaga ng doctor kasi naka-side view si baby nung nag-ultrasound pero sabi ni doc, no need na ulitin ultrasound)
Hubby and I decided to name her Victoria (named after my lola father side) pero gusto ko dagdagan ng Maria in honor kay Mama Mary kasi kay Mama Mary ng Manaoag namin sya hiningi. Kinukumbinsi ko pa si hubby na lagyan ng Maria kasi ang haba daw ng name eh ang haba na din ng surname namin, mahihirapan lang daw si baby magsulat.

We dont know the gender yet of our baby pero we've been listing down names na. We're not going to for English/modern sounding names kasi our last name is Spanish sounding. So ang nasa list naman is mostly Filipino and Spanish names.

Hubby doesn't want to know the gender of our baby and I'm leaning towards that idea na din. Although I'm only 16 weeks so may time pa magkano ng isip. We were just talking about names, ang hirap ng name ng boy, hindi naman namin need unique basta maganda lang  and maganda meaning.

If its a girl, most likely it will be an Irish name, my husband is Irish and I like girl's Irish names. Mahirap nga lang i-pronounce for Filipinos. I like Aoife (ee-fah) and Aisling (ash-ling). My husband likes Ríona  (ree-yo-nah). I will look for their meanings too gusto ko maganda ang meaning ng name.

^ my bestfriend named her baby saoirse (seer-sha), which means freedom. i came across it in a book and she loved the name. irish names are awesome but my husband has a rule that the name should be easy to pronounce so basically all the ones i like are out. i wanted taisce (tash-ka), which means treasure, but he vetoed it.

^ un nga sis mahirap i-pronounce pag hindi Irish kausap. Pero dito naman kami sa Ireland nakatira and my hubby is so patriotic I think he likes the idea that I'd like to give our baby an irish name. I haven't heard of taisce...Saoirse is a nice name din.

^ true, it's perfect for you guys! everybody will know how to pronounce your baby's name. my husband is american and we live in singapore so he wants to be really practical about naming our baby - a name everyone here can read without much trouble...haha!

Shegie, I love Irish names. My in laws are based in Ireland and we spent some time there before. My husband's pamangkins's friends have really interesting names. Siobhan (Shih-vonn), Fionnuala, Fiona, Enya, etc.

We're naming our baby boy Yorick Iain Andreas, all very european. Yorick comes from Hamlet, since Shakespeare geeks kami ni hubby.

120515 True be practical sa name, baka mali pa sa mga documents. I have a problem with my birth cert because of incorrect spelling super hassle. Kawawa nanay ko sya naglakad for the wedding. I learned to be practical for documents sake. My Filipino friends told me to have the Christening in the Philippines (because I may not be able to have the 1st birthday in the Philippines), sabi ko I will not, kung kailangan ng baptismal cert sa Pilipinas pa kukuha. Paano pag wala na nanay ko.

fionaapple I like the Adeline Bernisse, esp. the Adeline. Although baka nga mas bagay ang Filipino name kung Filipino ang surname ninyo.

Still searching on what to name our baby boy.  Hirap hanapan ng pangalan na isusunod naman sa name ng mga lolas.  Our first son kasi was named after his lolos.  What I prepared before was a name for a girl, eh boy pala. hehe. We want the names to start with L and M.
