Good morning mga sis! I am planning to get Manulife Affluence Builder which is sort of a mutual fund/UITF plus life insurance. Meron na ba dito nakapag try nito? Yung na offer kasi sakin is worth 500,000 php, payable in 10 years. Monthly is around 4k. May option din to pay annually or quarterly. Okay kaya ito?

Thanks  :)

Based on the answers in the VUL thread, you can get a better deal for 4k/month. For starters, you can get 1M up to 2M insurance coverage, and not just 500k. I do not track the performance of Manulife funds, but as far as I know, they're not among the top performers. Favorites are: Sunlife and Philamlife. You might get not only better coverage but also better fund performance from those two companies.

They were actually #1 in 2012 just next to Pru
and in 2013, although 2013 returns were in single
digits so the 2013 performance isn't really something
to brag about hehe.

I track Sunlife,Axa,Manulife and Insular life
returns.

Sunlife and Manulife returns has always been
average but in the last 2 years, Manulife suddenly
went ahead of the pack. They must have hired a new manager
or something.

But I agree with ikaela.
I don't like Manulife's VUL either.
I don't like the monthly policy fee

I have the SALEF na from FAMI eh.

gusto ko different levels of risk exposure, different companies.

Hi. I'm new in this forum and with investing. I have not got the chance yet to back read kasi nagwo-worry ako sa ginawa ko. :( I opened a Philequity mutual fund with IMG thru my friend. Pero bigla ako napaisip, ano yung difference nun versus kung nag open ako directly with Philequity? Ano ano ba yung charges na mababawas sakin kapag nagopen ng isang mutual fund directly?  with IMG?

Thanks in advance. :)

Here's another question for you.

What's the difference between buying a bench body
spray from SM Supermarket vs straight from Bench?

Same price just different ambiance I guess
so ultimately the answer is nothing.

Unless you prefer dealing with someone else
over your friend?

^You've been legally an adult for 3 years already, so yes, pwedeng-pwede ka na mag-open ng account in your name. Kahit those below 18 years old pwede mag-open ng ITF account with a parent/guardian, basta may birth certificate.

Thank you!  :) I looked at FAMI's investment risk profile form kasi and one of the questions being asked is about age. The only options given are A. 25-35, B. 36-50 and C. Over 51

The premium depends on your age and how much coverage you require.

I still find the normal mutual fund better than combining it with life insurance.  Kasi iba ang purpose ng life insurance at mutual fund. For life insurance, I just buy the policy separately. Pag mutual fund, mutual fund lang, exclusively for investments.  I did not like kasi the idea na nababawasan yung mutual fund sa pagbayad ng premium ng insurance.  Oh well, but that's just me. Eventually I liquidated everything narin kasi ang hirap imonitor especially the PAMI, laging late yung nakikita ko nah-hack website nila that time.

Hello mga sis and bro. Bago lang po ako sa mutual fund and i have alfm growth fund. :)

No, you're wrong.

You should never know what NAV you're
going to get when you invest/redeem.
Althought checking how the PSEi is doing
if you have an equity fund generally works
but a lot can happen in 30 mins(gap between
the cutoff and when the PSE stops trading).

Investing before the cut off ensures
you get the NAV for that day i.e Mar 11th

The latest available NAV on Mar 11th at 2PM
would have been the NAV yesterday, i.e Mar 10th.

If you do invest after the cut off, you will
be getting the NAV for Mar 12th. i.e. the next day.

Hope that cleared it up

True! I buy my policies and my investments separately to avoid too much risks.  ;)
