^I don't recall paying for the box lols weird. Baka new policy? Even so ang weird ha! The pudding is really 100 pesos kasama na jar dun tsaka yung pagkain sa loob haha!

^yep sis. You'd think you're paying less if you get more right? The 7 pcs macarons, P350 per box, ok, tama ang pag price. Then we saw 2 more boxes on display, 14 pcs for P850 then isa pa na mas marami but di ko napansin. Since we wanted to taste more kasi my sister plans to have macarons on her wedding, we took the 14pcs. I was super excited so i didn't compute. I didn't know as well that my sister paid 340 for the box of 3 jars panna cotta. She originally wanted 2 jars lang sana, e excited kaya when the guy offered her to get 3 na lang, she paid P340 daw without even thinking. Oh well. Charged to experience. My sister will get alchemy macarons na lang. Better tasting na, mas mura pa. And i think she even gives discounts if you'll buy more.

that's weird re chez karine. i used to but the 350 box and no additional charge naman. i think it's best to raise it to them so they can address it.

sa laduree, ganun din naman. they have different boxes na same quantity but the prettier the box, mas mahal.

^as mentioned on my post above, the P350 with 7 pcs macarons stays the same, and the price is just right. Im referring to the 14 pcs that's been priced at P850. If i've just known, nisplit ko na lang yung macarons into 2 small boxes and just paid the right amount of P700 for 14 pcs instead.

My sisters and I did a side by side taste testing of Paris' two most popular macarons, Ladurée and Pierre Hermé. Both of them were very good compared to the other macarons we've tried in the US and here. But between the two, hands down mas masarap si Pierre Hermé macarons. Mas fino yung taste ng macarons plus they really melt in your mouth.

I hope the Pierre Hermé shop in HKG will also taste the same as the ones in Paris. Mega-hoard lang naman if they are.

^ if i remember it right, they taste the same. i tried pierre herme in paris, london and HKG. All the macarons are shipped from Paris.

I like Chez Karine's Earl Grey macaron.

Locally, I've tried Bizu, The Cake Club/The Lobby, Sweet Bella, Chez Karine, Bar Dolci, TWG, Rosemarie's (Available at Eastwood Gourmet Market), etc. I like best the peppermint macaron from Rosemarie's. Texture is no good. It's crumbly and airy. BUT it's peppermint. I love peppermint.

Cake Club, Bar Dolci, and Chez Karine rank 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively. That's just me.

leihin, as far as i know, it is all imported from France. when you go to a Pierre Herme shop, you wont see any on site bakery. Its still good though and they prolly air fright it to the branches. i could be wrong though but that is what the shop people have told me.

when i also tried to order from the Pierre Herme online shop, the macaroons were to be shipped from France even if I was in London that time and they had London shops

right now, eating macarons from Liansss - 2 salted caramel, pistachio, coffee, hazelnut, chocolate.  hmmmnn, a little bit pricey talaga ang macarons in general pero masarap.

as far as i know macarons are pricey because matrabaho gawin. i am not so crazy over it, pero gusto ko yung pagka-chewy niya, malasa rin naman bawat piece. na-try ko na yung ibang brands mentioned, and so far Laduree ang pinaka okay for me. will try pierre herme in the future

Gusto ko pumunta dito but not for the macarons. May Laduree bag charm kasi ako na gusto and di ko nabili sa Paris. Their macarons are not the best that I have tried but I like the ambiance of their shops.

Ok na rin ang macaron sa fairmont hotel, makati. Minsan kasama sa buffet spread sa spectrum.
