I would suggest you start the solids when you return from hk, the first few weeks of feeding can get really messy :)

We will also go to hk over new years naman, my baby is on solid food na and im not sure what to feed her while we are there as we'll mostly eat at restaurants :( thinking of bringing a small thermos or water heater where we can boil her water and food at the same time

1. Although I was BF'ing my son when we went on a trip, I suggest using a plastic container to bring milk powder for formula-fed babies. This would save space. Don't buy milk daw from where you're staying baka magka-allergies pa.

2. Hotels have non-slip mats on their tubs, I just put a towel over it, and sit my baby there. My son was 9 months old when he had his first trip.

3. I pack his things din in ziplocks, per day, yan yung nasa luggage namin. Meron din pampalit nya and my daughter's on one bag that I hand-carry.

4. Don't test something on the trip for the first time. Some prefer diaper pants on trips, but it was so frustrating for me to clean up when it's soiled. So I never use them on trips.

I am very interested in this topic.  I am planning to travel with my 4 months old baby but I am so worried that he can't handle the air pack.  first time mom kasi... :-)

Khriseeee, your daughter will be 10 months old na by then diba? So pwede na then more chunky food with rice. If you prefer to make your own pa din, i suggest making some beforehand that you can freeze then bring it in cups in a fridge to go. They will remain frozen for the flight to HK. Then everyday while there, bring enough for the day in the fridge to go when you go out. When at a restaurant, ask for a cup of warm water to thaw the food to feed to baby.

At our last trip last august, i did what blueberrycheesecake did - placed a towel in the tub so baby wont slip. Effective naman.

^sis clueless yes, she will be 10 months in December. She's eating rice already now so I would think she would be eating more by the time we travel. My concern lang is that the food will be seasoned (salted) or loaded with MSG (as is with HK food). I guess I can ask for boiled or steamed food lang but I need to be with my in laws for every meal.

Using a towel as a mat is a good idea! Bathmats are heavy pa naman....

sis blueberry when we use pull ups, I just tear the sides (where the seams are) so it doesn't get messy during cleanup.

So far very useful tips! Keep them coming mommies!  :D

^better if magbaon ka nalang if you're going out during your vacay (assuming you'll be staying with your inlaws or may bahay sila where you guys are going) to be safe, salt and msg is a big no-no kasi for infants. liver/kidney nila ang kawawa pag nagkataon. or magdala nalang kayo ng jarred food for the meantime. there are also some baby food na nasa tetra pack type which is easier and lighter to lug around. eto ang back up food ko if everything else fails when we used to travel na below 1yr old palang son ko :)

^yeah, I'll probably bring jarred food nalang, better safe than sorry :( If I can find fresh food for her there then good and well.

^ consult your pedia pala also regarding vaccines. The flu shot can be given to babies as young as 6 months old. It might be worthwhile to have your baby get this but i think it has to be a month or so before your travel date?

For food, i would think worst case would be your baby eating all plain rice throughout the trip.

Your baby is more than ok to travel, yun lang medyo hirap naman kasi by land;hindi ko alam pano mag diaper change sa bus  :o other than that issue wala naman akong naiisip na bakit hindi pwede.Unless Undas mo gagawin, marami kayo makakasabay-wag naman sana andaming germs kung kani kanino manggagaling eh.

Ako naman I have the tendency to pack everything.

Bring a lot of food. Snacks. Meals. I normally bring cereals. Different types.

I bring bottles enough for one day. I dont bring the sterilizer. I use sterilizer bags or I put hot water (from the thermos) to the lock n lock container. I usually bring this lock n lock container big enough to for the bottles para isang lalagyan lang sila.

Milk dispensers are very helpful din. I bring dispensers good for 2 days naman na milk nya then extra box of milk.

I bring her own water, too

Medicines. All of them. From for fever, colds, allergies, other prescriptions, vitamins.

Oils and ointments for first aid.

I also bring a photocopy of her passport and birth cert for international travel.

Of course, her security pillow and favorite toys :)

Take advantage of the priority lanes :)

milk dispenser good for 7servings. yung 4servings nasa diaper bag. yung 3servings nasa other bag kasama ng extra bottles. may extra can of milk din ako na dala.

basta yan dapat ang laman ng diaper bag niya, plus extra set of clothes, face towel, 2diapers, powder, alcohol, lotion, gameboy, cardigan, bonnet for little girls, ok na.

plus may shoulder bag pa siya, andun ipod niya and headset. other toys, candy.

^ haha. When she had her first international travel, 25kg  simot kanya lang. For a 3 day trip. Goodness!

How can I forget bottle brush. Lol. Wetones. Yes sets of spoon and fork. I bring at least 3 para good for one day na gamit.

Just got back from Bora with my 1-year old. Sobrang exhausting, and scary yung pag cross from boat to land kasi isang manipis na wood lang. My baby is breastfed, had to bring my pump pa, which is very bulky. Suggestion to breastfeeding moms, sobrang less hassle if you breastfeed directly. I brought our Avent with dispsable liners, convenient siya pero still need to clean the nipples and yung nipple holding thing. So most of the time, I breastfed him directly na para hindi na maglinis.

^wala bang pag iiwanan?
